The Deserted Isles Blood Bowl Leeg is now into its 11th season. However, it seems little is known about the teams and their players. Reporter Ziggle Warpdust spoke to Mor' Longmane, the self proclaimed star of Wild Ex-pacts to find out more.

<Ziggle> Thank you for talking to me today Mor'. Can you tell us about your team. I understand all the players originally played in different teams and leagues, why have you come together? Why are you here?

Hrrrmmm. From all places. Come together. Want to play, hit, squish.

<Ziggle> Not big with the words i see, well thats ok. Any particular goals for the current season?

Said. Hit, squish.

<Ziggle> Ok, hit and squish, very well. This is the second season in DIBBL for the Ex-Pacts, have you built up any rivalries in that time? Any players that you really want to... squish?

Elves. Hate Elves. Dead elves sweetest.

<Ziggle> A team is nothing without their fans. Tell us about yours, I hear you have a committed fan base.

Fans love blood, injuries. Fans love Mor'.

<Ziggle> Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

Mor' awesome. Mor' star.

<Ziggle> Thank you for your words Mor'. There you go fans, from the mouth of the great Mor' Longmane himself.

The Deserted Isles Blood Bowl Leeg is now into its 11th season. However, it seems little is known about the teams and their players. Reporter Zack Howblard spoke to new team Roman Renegades to find out more.

Zack: Tell us about your team. Where are they from? What are the backgrounds of your players? Why are you here?

Well Rome initially, however as globalisation kicked in, being exiled 400 miles from Rome went from a months trip to a few hours, thus the Roman government needed a location miles away from anywhere else, a totally isolated place where exiles could be sent out of sight, out of mind. So, that’s how they came to the Deserted Isle. With no Hippodromes, Circus’ or Amphitheatres to keep them entertained, they turned to the local sport of Blood Bowl --- which had all the similarities to the gladiator games and spectacles they loved and longed for back home. Back home, Gladiators were the celebrities of Rome, and in Blood Bowl, the Renegades saw a chance to reinstate their shattered reputation and achieve the glory and wealth they had craved so much prior to their fall from grace.

Zack: Any particular goals for the current season?

The goal is to end the season with as few deaths and serious injuries as possible and to skill up everyone to have enough skills to play a certain role in the team. However, they must survive veteran teams who have no sympathies for rookies and will certainly have a testing time. They have already been seeking the best apothecaries in the Deserted Isles. A win would be nice too – just one, but a healthy and developed team that can compete in Season 12 is the primary goal, especially as we were heavily restricted in the pre-season games with draconic treasury and team weight laws meaning the Romans are broke and could only get 13 games of experience under their belts prior to the start of the season proper.

Zack: Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

The Romans plan to be here for a long time, not a good time. Roman’s never take too well to losing and will most likely have a book of grudges going very shortly for opponents who have insulted the Eagle and will be invaded, conquered and sold into slavery keenly looking for a rematch.

The Deserted Isles Blood Bowl Leeg is now into its 11th season. However, it seems little is known about the teams and their players. Reporter Theophilus Wissen III interviewed the press relations officer of Overly Refined - Sir Alexander Montgomery ffinch-Churchill Grey to find out more.

Wissen: Tell us more about your team. Where are they from? What are the backgrounds of your players? Why are you here?

Grey: First of all, let me say that every one of the players grudgingly accepted the need for this interview. However, there is no need to pry further beyond this interview as my players are very private and do not wish to be plagued by the pack of slavering dogs that is the modern press. With that in mind, let us continue. Our players are simply a band of young Slann from all over the world that wish to restore the artistry and finesse to Blood Bowl. They risk life and limb to do it, but every single one of them feels it is necessary to the game.

Wissen: You say that you wish to restore the artistry and finesse to Blood Bowl. How successful do you think you've been?

Grey: Very successful so far I think. We've reached the championship playoffs multiple times, oft beating more deserving and better teams by the tip of our toes and presenting our case to be the most refined team in DIBBL. However the cost in blood and bones has been pretty steep in doing so but we believe it to be worth every ounce. That said, if we had not lost so many good players I believe we would have lifted a championship trophy by now.

Wissen: The championship trophy? Are you aiming for it this season?

Grey: Oh no. The trophy has never been primarily our goal. We simply want to be and keep on being the most refined team in DIBBL playing the beautiful game. That said, having a trophy or two in the display cabinet does impress the hoi polloi and beautify the place. You'll not believe the stench and ugliness of some teams' stadia. Ugh!

Wissen: That sounds like you have built certain team rivalries since you started in Season 8...do tell.

Grey: I and the team despise the bash teams that can only blood to win. We know it's an essential part of the sport but some teams just take it too far and go all out for blood. That said, even worse are the teams that are supposed to be playing beautiful ball games but have murderhobos for players instead. You know who you are.

Wissen: As you know, your team suddenly sprang out of nowhere as it were and the ownership structure is opaque, to say the least. Can you finally resolve the mystery for our devoted readers?

Grey: Well, this is not really my purview, but i'm assured that all of the players and the coach have a stake in the team through multiple shell companies operated by trusted law firms in offshore havens. Just to keep things interesting, you understand Wink. There may also be a few other investors but it's all hush-hush on that front.

Wissen: Thanks for being so up front with us. Any final words?

Grey: The commissioner's recent ruling on team valuation have upset certain players, questioning the need for such drastic measures potentially affecting team vitality. However, I can assure you that refinement will be sought in any case and withdrawal is only being contemplated if the quality of league play degenerates under this new regime.

DIBBL Leeg Weekly regrets to announce the departure of one our most loved journalists. Pike Mosking, was recently on assignment to interview second season DIBBL team mountain gorillas. The subject of the interview, silverback Araris Valerian, like many of his kind has not yet mastered the art of speech. Pike turned down the offer of an interpreter choosing instead a crash course in Simyin sign language prior to the interview.

CCCV (closed circuit cabalvision) footage shows what happened next. Araris gestured to a bowl of fruit, pointed at his own mouth, rubbed his stomach, and grinned, he then pointed to Pike, and gave a quizzical look.

Pike clearly took this to mean that Araris had offered him a piece of fruit, walked over to the bowl and helped himself to a mango. However, professional interpreter Pax Musing, tells a different story. He claims the giant ape said quite clearly: “See that fruit, it’s my dinner, it’ll be delicious, cool eh?, how about you?, you think it’s cool?”. And so, it’s understandable, and quite within his rights for Araris to violently remove at the elbow Pike’s right hand which held the stolen mango.

Here, at DIBBL Leeg Weekly, we do not condone theft. We also, find it unacceptable that Pike chose to go immediately to the nearest hospital instead of completing his assignment as a professional journalist would have. So it is with much regret, that we have had to terminate Mr Mosking’s employment contract. Another reporter will be sent to the mountain gorillas for the interview. We understand he will be bringing an interpreter.

Rakhak's Hoof (aka "The Hoof", "The Rakhak")

Image

Similar to SWL's Black Pearl, it's a bounty board for the freaks and bullies of the Leeg. The team who takes out one of DIBBL's 3 nominated players gets to hold onto The Hoof for a while.

Current player list:

Image The Elf: Minsc. Gets the vote for being completely un-elfy. Winner of the Season 8 Cosh and with 37 casualties to his name in only 50 games. 2nd time Hoof nominee

Image The Wolf: Fenrir Wolfgar while the Elf is un-elfy, this Legend werewolf appears not to know he has claws. Only 5 cas so far, but a whopping 50 touchdowns. Debut Hoof nominee.

Image The Mark: Flame Princess. With the original Mark taking a break from the Leeg, victim coach mushoomy nominates another ramchop favourite. This sweetheart wouldn't hurt a fly, just a trifling 48 cas and 30 touchdowns, not a threat to anyone. And certainly not deserving of a Hoof nomination.

The Deserted Isles Blood Bowl Leeg is now into its 11th season. However, it seems little is known about the teams and their players. Reporter Billiary Harry spoke to new team Slaan Francisco 69ers to find out more.

Bill: Tell us about your team. Where are they from? What are the backgrounds of your players? Why are you here?

Well these guys have been around in the industry for a while now. The adult entertainment experience they bring to the DIBBL I think could be highly valuable. Our training program leading up to this debut season has been grueling to say the least, but we came out on top of a busy ball boy, I mean schedule. The players are erecting, I mean expecting to find this easy in the league, but I've told them all to be realistic and Fake Taxi understands this more than anyone else.

Bill: Any particular goals for the current season?

I think I'd like us to finish on the bottom, I mean off the bottom, or at least around it. Personally I prefer finishing on the mid-riff, I mean mid table as it's the oldest trick in the book for contraception, I mean competitivity...

Bill: This is your debut season, do you see any rivalries in the making? Any players that you really want to destroy?

This is our first shot at the legs, I mean league, so our "expectations" aren't too large for the amateurs out there. Personally my sights are on brutalizing Nekro Dance Party in our opening game and hopefully surprising a few with a cream pie, I mean favourable result...

Bill: A team is nothing without their fans. Tell us about yours, I hear you have a committed fan base.

Yeah our fans are hugely important in what drives us. Without their spaff, I mean support we wouldn't be in the place we are today. They are a antisocial bunch generally but show support in the stands by throwing wet Kleenex and condoms onto the pitch at half time.

Bill: Who owns the 69ers? Is is a wealthy financier, a cooperate structure, local government?

The team is a conglomerate of various slaaneshi porn houses, across the chaos wastes and the Empire.

The Deserted Isles Blood Bowl Leeg is now into its 11th season. However, it seems little is known about the teams and their players. Reporter Welly Strong spoke to team captain Cow Creek of the Tararuas Krox to find out more.

Welly: Tell us about your team. Where are they from? What are the backgrounds of your players? Why are you here?

We obviously come from the Tararua rain forest. At some point we found a strange ball in the woods and we started to throw it around. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long before the ball landed in a lake and couldn’t been found again. Luckily, some rats told us about this fun game and we don’t even need to to throw the ball to win the game.

Welly: Any particular goals for the current season?

(Growls) Simple. A better performance than in our first season.

Welly: You’ve been here since Season 7, have you built up any rivalries in that time? Any players that you really want to destroy?

Oh yes. There is a major rivalry with the DIBBL League commissioner. After our superb preseason leading up to Season 7 the coach decided that we need further training and signed us up for Season 8. However, the commissioner ruled that every team needs to play “Stingfinger” before joining the league. So we destroyed them and could finally play our first league match in season 9. Since then we came to hate all those pesky elves and hopping slanns that always run away. Also, those Chaotic people with their claws. But worst of all is of course the commissioner who said that we will come last this season – That’s not going to happen.

Welly: A team is nothing without their fans. Tell us about yours, I hear you have a committed fan base.

We accumulated a massive crowd during our fantastic preseason matches. Those are still cheering for us despite a really tough first season.

Welly: Who owns Tararuas Krox? Is is a wealthy financier, a cooperate structure, local government?

This is of course the local government, but with the recently introduced tax on well established wealthy teams we expect a significant increase in funding. Unless of course they spend all the money on controlling the rats in our forest.

Welly: Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

Well, we recently managed to hire a more experienced Apothecary, after the former one killed Kime. In addition, I have already broken my neck twice and the former chap always said that the removed neckbones will improve the flexibility of my neck. I never believed him.

Also I would like to tell our fans that Dundas promised to focus more on the game after he basically just stood around not knowing what to do at the end of the last season.

I need to leave now, because we are going to play our 1st match of season 10 against some brutally looking Burglers from a Back Alley.

Since moving into the Leeg way back in 2515, only twice has the Shield been lost on the pitch in its first defence. Can those unbroken Wood Elves from Canterbury make it thrice?

I have a feeling it'll bounce around a bit this season

Crouching Saurus and Waikato held the Shield longer than anyone ever has, and coach bigbullies is very keen to get it back. Threats have been made by both coaches to kill the other's favourite Legend: Flame Princess with a respectable 53 cas to her name, and greyii with a monstrous 81.

Auckland started the season with the Shield, can they finish with it? Coach Geoffro doesn't think he'll win it, Coach ramchop doesn't think he'll keep it. They can't both be right. Where's the confidence?!
