Thx Spook - great stuff. I'd add this: I always start each turn by asking: When is the ball carrier team intending to score? If it's my drive, do I want to score early or take my time? This depends on the other coach's positioning, and also how bashed up I'm getting (or giving). If the other coach has the ball, my positioning and hits will depend on when I think he's going to score. Some teams want to score early, others want to grind. If the opponent wants to grind, then play the long game and aim to be in position to defend by the latter turns - a slowly forming screen that squeezes the ball carrier to one side is often effective - particularly if your team has good armor. If the other team wants to score early, you'll have to focus on the players in scoring position. Many iterations here. |
