Yeah I think gobbos are fine. Deffo better than they were before on paper. Coz of all the buffs. But all the rookie tackle, plus some diving tackle in the Meta makes life tricky for them.

They break even overall imo, but allowing Trolls to rr makes the team fun to use at last, removing the most frustrating thing in the team... You have a fairly safe starting action now most turns.

Agree bombs are awful now. But then I've never liked that random dumb luck in a game anyway. So them getting worse is irrelevant to me.

As for inducements abuse - gobbos in league play and blackbox have never been able to abuse the inducements much, coz they're so over priced cumulatively. But they're fine without really. Underdog inducing 1 bribe is typically all you'll need

Bombs became awful with the 2020 change to X+ passing. Bombs don’t really care if they are accurate. I know it seems wonky to have quick passes be +1, but that meant a long pass was -1 not -2, so with pass + skill you could be reliably chucking a bomb down field 8/9 times. Or at least getting 3+ long pass off.

They've always been poor aside from the pre mega star ban/cindy and bomber era. But they are much much worse now coz they bounce... the bounce means any sensible coach should never touch them

Bombs were the strongest (and most underestimated) element of the team. I've never understood the anti-Bomma angle. This was often a critical tool against certain matchups where cage-breaking is otherwise extremely difficult.
The whole dynamic when facing goblins is the tension between bunching players up, and spreading them out: The Fanatic and Bomma make opponents wary of playing a tight formation, while the Hooligan and Looney make them wary of having their players isolated. And the presence of the Bomma on the pitch made opponents play differently—in the same way that coaches will often score early if their opponent has a Wizard.
The fact that the Bomma is nigh-unuseable now is a major blow, and a completely unnecessary one. Too much of the thinking and balancing around Bombardier is based on Bomber Dribblesnot, and the goblin roster has suffered for it.
For my part, I don't understand why GW is so timid with buffing rosters like these. Goblins would need a million small buffs to statistically compete with the likes of Undead or Amazons. If Black Orcs can start with Mighty Blow, why can't the Fanatic? Is it really necessary for bad bomb or Throw Teammate to cause a turnover? Should a beat-up Goblin team really be forced to field its Secret Weapons on turn 8? None of this has to do with game balance or fluff. And the most common refrain is always just "Goblins (or Halflings, Ogres, etc) are supposed to be bad". (Weird, since Snotlings are also supposed to be bad but have always kinda crushed it.)

As for "random dumb luck in a game", I'd say the Doom Diver is much more an example of that: An attempt to garner a Touchdown—the thing that actually determines if you win the game—which happens over the course of a single turn, during which the opponent has basically no opportunity for counterplay. Good dice? TD, and your chances of winning the game probably triple. Bad dice? Lost player.
A lucky Bomma has never been able to do anything like that. The best he can do is cause injury or loose a ball, that perhaps you could leverage into a TD over the course of several turns of tight tactical play.

1. Bombs is much worse now. They don´t blow up 50% of the times like they used to.
2. The Dodge-saw costs 50k TV, and without dodge you get one chainsaw blitz with him before he dies.
3. Ooligan, the 2020 main gobbo is rubbish, when sneaky git is useless.

Don't forget the loss of the best thing that ever happened to them: 20k Block/Wrestle/Dauntless/SureHands/StripBall/Tackle/Kick at 6 SPP.

This really does hurt for progression.

The only "buff" they ever needed was rostered bribes. It isn't even a real buff, because it just makes you play at even TV instead of artificially keeping TV low.
