I'm struggling a little bit on offense with orcs when I don't get removals so I was watching another player's games and I noticed he was using a goblin on offense vs elves, but not vs a bash team (or as close to bash as imperials are). Do you guys generally do that for more speed/a scoring threat? He was mostly using the goblin as a vengabus driver, the a second body inside the cage to add a tackle zone to cage dives and a negative assist, unless I'm confused as to what a vengabus is.
So far I've really only used the goblin for short drives or when I need to due to lack of orcs.

Sound like you got Venga bus right, basically adds that extra Assist. If the team has two diagonal Guard corners then that Assist is not required.

I've always carried on an Orc personally. So in BB2020 it was a Blitzer.
In BB2025 I think I'd now carry on the Thrower (MV6 and no animosity)

In my last game v's orcs the opp did a standard cage with Mr Throw in middle, then in T8 handed off to an Orc Blitzer so it could use Break Tackle to get through the defensive screen.

I'm sure a pro-Goblin coach will be along soon to explain their thoughts.

enjoy your BB!

I defo carry with a blitzer.

Mr throw can carry to get +leader. Me throw carries leader & wrestle, not ball.

Blitzer is the best carrier due to 2+ break tackle dodging.

Gobbo can carry if in a hurry, can try luck thru TZs or ttm in a pinch.

I'm someone who quite likes goblins on my orc teams. But I don't particularly see why you'd field a goblin, apart from TTMs.

If you rate the advantages over the disadvantages that come with goblins instead of orc linemen, why not commit to it properly and field two or even three goblins as your backline alongside your thrower(s)?

For the added movement you field a 2nd thrower, not a gob.

Im trying hard to get a dirty player.

The goblin is the only viable dp in the squad..

thanks, you too. I also used to carry on a blitzer but it's weird when there are only 2 of them. One of them usually has guard so I need to be able to move him around as a guarder. I'd be carrying on a tackle or mb guy who isn't any faster than the thrower.

you can use him as a mobile assist, dirty player and throw teammate option or stunty dodge option but you need the normal lineorcs for AV10+ and str3 to protect the Bubs and Blitzers from getting 2 diced. Like you need some meat and the linos bring more meat than the goblins

I would never take Guard on a Blitzer in this edition until very late in development. That's what Linemen are for. Blitzers get MB and Tackle.

Goblin's good to carry with if he has nothing, then you ignore him except for MVP nominations, so he can get DP.

Otherwise, I know it sounds crazy from a historical perspective, but two Throwers is the way now.

They surely don't replace throwers though? With the reduced numbers, if you take all of the positionals that's seven players. So you have four slots to fill plus however many substitutes you choose to have on your bench, to split between goblins and linos in whatever way your preference is.

I like having the mobile guard since the blitzer can dodge on a 2+ and I blitz with the Bubs since they don't need assists and have MB.

It was a NAF tournament so the guy was running 1 troll, 2 bubs, 2 blitzers, 1 Mr. Throw, 5 lineorcs and 1 goblin as the bench player for the OTTD. I have seen some 2 thrower teams but they're usually higher tv and have 13 players. most low tv black box teams and res teams have 1 thrower due to tv limits and either the goblin is the 12th player or the goblin is the 13th

Im happy with one mr throw. Not happy to pay 25k in TV for a 2nd +1ma, -1AV. Prefer 1.5 linemen over the 2nd throw value for value.

A Goblin is pretty good for a drive when you have 2-3 turns. Get one in a cage 6-8 squares out then you can always stunty on through. A goblin with +AG (add +MA, sprint and surefeet if you're lucky) is pretty awesome on an Orc team - not for throwing but for running the ball.

I don't play Orcs, tried them a few times. Isn't a gobbo used for OTT and throwing at the ball carrier?
