How many people would really buy into that?

You could just not play the other team. Then create another squad with a tier 1 or 2 team.

If you make it too difficult, fewer people will go for it.

If some coaches do as you say, the lack of points will simply screw their run.
From the official BBT ruleset:
"A bonus of 0.5 points are given for every 5 games played per team. "
A similar rule taylored to a S+ BBT will lead you to play S+ Gnomes to balance your Zons or Orcs - accessibility, diversity, fairness, new meta... the whole package, man!

The BBT+ rewarding system could look like this:

- for Tier-1/Tier-2 teams:
W 3 pts, D 1 Pt, L -1 (yeah, MINUS 1)

- for Tier-3/Tier-4 teams:
W 3 pts, D 2 pts, L zero pt

- for Tier-5/Tier-6 teams:
W 4 pts, D 3 pts, L 1pt

A reminder: you CAN'T play your full run with ONE team - your entire stable must play, each team completing half of the run.

My point really is that if it's only a two-team squad many people will not want to play half their matches with a terrible team. There are bound to be a load of really grim opponents in there. I'd expect many people to want to use at least a fairly decent second team.

By all means incentivise using a weak team through the scoring system.

If people are already struggling to find time for games, we don't want to disincentivise them further.

Playing just one team from a squad may work for some people. They can be going after the racial title.

Playing a one-team run with S+ teams (for both global and racial titles) is already possible - thx to the Iron Dwarf Trophy.

I really like the idea of playing a season 2+ BBT. I guess for Matt it would be most important to exclude GF farmed teams. And I get that. But to do so, you would need to introduce some kind of criteria that allows for instance IDT teams (all 15 games played in the Box) to enter as well. I am not yet sold in this idea though because I guess there are much more important aspects that give you an advantage in season 2+ than GF SPP farming.

And I cannot say too much in regards of balancing, but I would really love the rules be similar to the current BBT. Maybe reducing the needed teams for a Squad and balancing issues.

No! Matt is ok to welcome teams built in the GF, as long as they get instantly frozen if they go back in the kindergarten during their BBT+ run.

I completely agree with this proposition. It offers accessibility to the BBT+, while keeping min-maxing (a bit) in check.

And Koadah said Matt got soft.

As my personal preference, I would not allow GF teams (especially with 15-game Season), but allowing them makes the playerbase bigger.
It's not my ideal design, but it realistically increases the chances of people playing BBT S2+.
Yes, a team gets frozen if it plays a GF team during a BBT S2+ run.
I didn't get soft, just I can't do the things as I'd like to do them.
With the things being like they are, it's more realistic to allow GF teams too.
Pragmatism. Doing the best we can do with the tools we have (namely merged divisions, 15-game Season, small playerbase).

If you remember, I said in that thread that I try to change things first (with reasonable suggestions), then I adapt.
The pragmatism is required to adapt.
For example, I don't like stat freaks (especially if they are very common and easy to build like in BB 2025), but I would play at a disadvantage if I refused to use stat freaks myself.
If the goal is increasing the number of Season 2+ playing, it's required to allow GF teams to play too.
It doesn't make the things worse than the current situation, Season 2+ teams from GF are allowed in the Box.

I would very much like a BBT-style competition post redraft, under a different name and different format. However, I understand that it would be a lot of work to figure out and implement such a thing.
