-Bowl Fiasco! Torxas wins Goober Bowl Without Head Coach-

In an ironic turn of events for the Torxas State Bobkats, they did indeed make and win a bowl game this season! The bowl committee had indeed counted the coaches votes wrong, sending the Bobkats to their first bowl game in school history. The news, however, came to late to save the life of Torxas head coach Marty Scholizinator, who was "Fired" after Torxas was believed to have missed out on their bowl bid.

The Bobkats squared off against the Dwarves from Notre Daze in what proved to be a nail-bitingly close game, no doubt one of the best games this bowl season. Torxas came out firing on all cylinders and took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half on a QB rush by Bradley George. Notre Daze returned the favor after halftime, wasting little time in punching it in to tie the score up at 1-1. The Dwarves held off Torxas to send the game into OT. Torxas won the toss and elected to receive. In a trick play the likes of which the NCBB has never seen, QB Bradley George handed the ball off to Torxa's T-shirt launcher guy who fired the ball down-field to receiver Frank Reddic. Reddic juked the last few Daze defenders to put the game away. Torxas took the Nut Cup, final score Torxas 2, Daze 1

Frank Reddic received the "Planters- Nut of the Game" MVP award and had this to say to reporters after the game, "I'll putz it simple fah you dumb gitz out there, de team came out and played da bests dey could and dem stuntiez could do nufthing about it. Da stunty 'ead coach Timmah did a gud job and his team played a great game, but we orcs had to come out 'ere and win one fer da coach... even doh dat git had it comin', we stillz gonna miss 'em."

U.Con ~ Season 7 player logo
Image
http://fumbbl.com/teams/314337.jpg

Ok all NCBB'ers here is the fluff help if you need it for putting the season logo onto your team and players

Team Table Builder and Headline Information
Code:
<table style='border: 2px solid black; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;' border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0"><!--
--><tr style='text-align: center; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial; color: white; background: rgb(0, 0, 0)' valign="top"><!--
--><th>Season Icon</th><!--
--><th>Season</th><!--
--><th>Division</th><!--
--><th>Rank</th><!--
--><th>BCS
Worst</th><!--
--><th>BCS
Best</th><!--
--><th>Record</th><!--
--><th>Bowl</th><!--
--></tr><!--

--></table>

For Each Season you want to add you can edit this seasons information. (This goes in the gap left in above the --></table>
YOU MUST EDIT FOR ANYTHING IN ALL CAPS OTHER THAN *NCBB*
Code:
--><tr bgcolor=white align="center"><!--
--><th><a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=583683"><img src="http://fumbbl.com/teams/314337.jpg

<small><small>Season 7</smalll></small></a></th><!--
--><th><a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=6888">NCBB

--><td>YOUR DIVISION</td><!--*division
--><td>YOUR RANK IN DIVISION</td><!--*rank

--><td><a href="LINK TO YOUR BOWL GAME"><img height=65 src="YOUR BOWL GAME LOGO"><img height=65 src="YOUR TROPHY IF YOU WON">
YOUR BOWL GAME SCORE  Win/Loss vs.
YOUR BOWL GAME OPPONENT</a></td><!--*Bowl
--></tr><!--

delete any part of the bowl game line as doesn't fit your team. Bowl game logos and trophys can be found linked from the ncbb homepage.

U.Con. uses this if you would like to see how it looks, if you want to change the band color just edit the bgcolor=white line to any color or hex color codes you like, (eg. lightblue, purple, 0022ff, ebe958)

Player insert stat lines
I made myself a picture to make my life easier here
Code:
<table border=1 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width=330><!--
--><tr><td width=100></td><td colspan=14><img width=230 height=65 src=http://fumbbl.com/teams/311144.jpg></td></tr><!--

--></table>

Your player stat line with season logo
same as before you will slap this inbefore the --></table> and can repeat for each season.
Code:
--><tr bgcolor=white align="center"><!--
--><th width=100><small>Freshman<br><small>Season 7</small></small></th><!--
--><th width=16>0</th><!--Games

Predictions of Awards

Gone Too Soon Award ~ We had originally picked an upset with Humphrey Bogus but the Bowl game death of ...
- Stan Peade (Buffalo) who crushes the competition in the sorely missed category.

Neeley Award ~ In what we expect to be another suprise to the fans...
- Josh Skull (PainState) with his 8 Cas. in only 53 attempts (1 in every 6.6 blocks) will take the award this season recognizing his ability to maim opposing players.

Banger-Hardell ~ for the first time we predict a primary passer will take the Banger-Hardell when...
- The Missou Tiger (Missou) with 10 completions 5 Touchdowns and 105 rushing shows what an all around offender can truely be.

The Hammer Award ~ for the first time in 3 season a wolf isn't even in contention for The Hammer, we think this may be a 1st season for a shared Hammer award with a duck-n-bull sharing the honors..
- Jake "Australian Wood Duck" Cipro (Oregon) (11 TD+Cas+Int) a perfectly balanced player with 11 TD/Int/Cas. will prove that ducks can do it all.
- Billy Gruff (Buffalo) (12 TD+Cas+Int) no sooner does the face of the franchise pass on than the new face emerges. Billy Gruff may carry the dejected Bull Centaurs to the top yet.

CotS ~ In what is probably a long tie coming we predict...
- ex-convict for solid(ish) leadership and keeping the NCBB strong and for the great finish to a tough start season.

***If I missed a guy on your team that you really believe belongs in consideration, step up and post em!***

***EDITED FOR THE HAWAII/BUFFALO KILLER LITE BOWL***

Quickie Code for Pasting into player bios

Code:
Season Seven NCBB Champions
<a href="http://fumbbl.com/teams/314337.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://fumbbl.com/teams/314337.jpg

ok so an even cleaner code for this would be:
Code:
<a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=583683" target="_blank"><img src="http://fumbbl.com/teams/314337.jpg" alt="U.Con. Huskies ~ Season 7 Champions"></a>

the target="_blank" will make the link popup in a new window

without link to U.Con.
Code:
<img src="http://fumbbl.com/teams/314337.jpg" alt="U.Con. Huskies ~ Season 7 Champions">

you can remove the optional alt="U.Con. Huskies ~ Season 7 Champions" if you dont want it to say anything on the mouseover and it would just put up the season image

simplest code:
Code:
<img src="http://fumbbl.com/teams/314337.jpg>

Award voting has started! Everyone should have the pm, so reply to it with your votes for the five awards. The deadline for it is next Friday, June 11th.

Also, we're planning to start the friendlies tomorrow, as we're still finalizing the details about next season. Keep posting your thoughts in the Offseason pm so we can get enough opinions to find the best and/or majority-friendly solution.

CBBS Interview: Offseason Report

Today, we managed to catch up with Jeff "Slither" Tedford, head coach of the California Golden Lizards.

Reporter: "Jeff, so nice of you to take some time to sit down with us."

Jeff: "No problem, alwaysss a pleasure to be of assistance."

R: "So, how is the offseason going?"

JT: "Good, very good. Although the ssseason didn't end on a good note, I think we're making good progresss."

R: "Yes, how was the whole Rose Bowl experience coach?"

JT: "It was pretty exciting, especially with it being so close by. Plus, it was a great change of ssscenery from the Killer Lite Bowl."

R: "Overall bowl games haven't been very kind to you. Have you found an explanation for this?"

JT: "Not really. Each of the three games has their own ssstory, but overall we just haven't played well. If there was a common factor, I'd sssay our inability to keep a full sssquad on the field during the game has cost us greatly."

R: "Looking forward, what do you expect from your team next season?"

JT: "I expect a great ssseason, honestly. We have a bunch of sssenior linelizards, in addition to depth at our ssskill positions. If enough young players improve, I think we've got as talented a team as any in the nation. Every team has the goal of reaching the National Championship, and the Golden Lizards are no different."

R: "How do you plan on replacing such a large amount of senior players, coach? Your 'lizardline' will be hit pretty hard after this year is over."

JT: "Yesss, we are certainly aware of the difficulties in graduating a large portion of our team. We've been both fortunate and cursed to not have any serious injuries to our big guys the past three seasons, but we ssshould be in good position to replace any losses this year. The transition has already begun, actually, as Tyler Killerbee retired and became an assistant coach for us, due to his slipping GPA. It'll be his job to teach his replacement, a talented recruit named Chris "Snakeskin" Martin. Hopefully we can get him up to speed early on, as it'sss always risky to start a freshman."

R: "Speaking of your talented players, what did you think of Spencer Laggar's recent nomination for the Neely Award?"

JT: "It was great that Ssspencer was nominated, as he had a great season for us. There are many other worthy candidates for the award, but we certainly hope that he wins."

R: "One last thought, coach. You were certainly on the hotseat early on this past season due to poor game management, notably in the Oregon and DD Tech games. But big wins over Missouri and PainState, culminating in your trip to the Rose Bowl, looks to have saved your job...for now. Any thoughts on your job security, or lack thereof?"

JT: "The fans at Cal expect the best, as we certainly didn't deliver that early on this past year. Our 1-0-3 start nearly crippled our ssseason, and there were definately calls for my firing. Our offensive coordinator, Frank Lizardbreath, who was in his first season on the job, certainly had a rough beginning to his career. But he, along with defensive coordinator Clancy Scaley, eventually found a formula that worked for most of the ssseason. It will be up to us, as a coaching ssstaff, to review the tape and become better at our jobs, in order to avoid disappointing the fanbase."

R: "Well, thank you again coach for your time, and best of luck next season."

JT: "Thanksss for having me."

Well Season 8 is going to hopefully begin by the end of the week (best case scenario is Thurday,) so let's take a look at the conferences for next season:

Big Beast
Missouri
PainState
Nibraskah
California
Hawaii
Minni

AKC
Oregon
UCon
DD Tech
Navy
Torxas
Golden Gate

Smack 6 (aka UK conference)
Vandy
BYU
Buffalo
Notre Daze
Clemson
Texas Tech

-------------------------

So there you have it. Both the Big Beast and AKC have three "baller" teams, while the four Euros were grouped together in the Smack 6. Clemson ends up with the Euros because Nomad claims that he has an easier time scheduling with them, and Texas Tech is in as well because they couldn't be in the same conference as UCon, and I assume Fitz has a fairly flexible schedule. (BTW fitz, if you don't think this will work for you, be sure to let me know so I can change this.)

Recall that everyone will have four Out of Conference (OoC,) games to start the season, two against each of the other conferences. We're going to attempt to get rivalry games in during this time if teams weren't grouped in the same conference. Once those four games are played, the five conference games begin. That gives everyone nine games for the season, and then another week for bowls!

Good luck to everyone this upcoming season, and stay tuned as more details on Season 8 come out in the next few days (maybe awards voting results later tonight.)
