Seriously Injured Issue#120 Preseason part 1

Season 20 marks the return of SI's quarterly magazine which will be broken down as follows: Preseason, after the OoC schedule is finished, Mid-season of the conference, and bowl season. In this weeks edition we will be taking a look at each BCS conference and give our in depth analysis and predicted order of finish. We may do an analysis of the Non-AQ after week 3 or 4 but as of now there is no body of work to base any analysis on atm. So with our further udo....

Big Beast Conference

1. Arkansas Laserbacks

Coach: Miyuso
Race: Chaos
Players: 10 Sophomores

This young Chaos team is fresh from the Non-AQ from last year. As such they lack any senior or junior players on their team. They finished the season with a 3-1-3 record which was good enough for 3rd in the Non-AQ. They did not go to a bowl last season being in the Non-AQ but perhaps fortune will favor them this season and they may get a bowl invitation this season.

Strengths: CW Brandon Burlsworth is the keystone a program can build on. Coming in with a +str increase and block after 1 season he looks to show the rest of the conference what the Laserbacks are all about. Throw in the fact that most of the rest of team also has block the fundamentals are covered with this team so far.

Weakness: This is a young team that has not really developed because they are a new program. As such they have a few weakness. One they only have 10 players active on the roster. However they do have a small war chest in 180k. They only have 3 CWs on the roster. Hopefully they will add the 4th at the start of the season so they won't have such a steep disadvantage. Also the lack of tackle or wrestle in the beginning will hurt this team against the likes of California's skinks and MIzzou's elvish blodgers. The lack of a dedicated ball handler could lead to some opportunities by their opponents as well. Hopefully these issues will be handled quickly so they can compete in this tough conference this season.

X-factor: This is a new team as such they will most likely have more skill up opportunities than some of the more developed teams. As such they might get some nice stat increases to help them this season. Throw in the fact that the are a Chaos team and have mutation access as a normal skill this team could shape up into something special.

2. California Golden Lizards

Coach: ex-convict
Race: Lizardmen
Players: 3 Freshman, 3 Sophomores, 4 Juniors, 3 seniors

The Golden Lizards come into season 20 with a wide range of players pretty evenly distributed between each class. Coming off a win in the Wonderbra bowl over Fresno St they look to improve on their dismal 7th place conference finish from last season and go to a more respectable bowl than the Wonderbra this season. The graduation of Maurice Bennet and Chrisss Harper leave some shoes to fill but for now at least the Golden Lizards look respectable.

Strengths: A dedicated Saurii ball handler named Erik "Smokin A" Blunte with a +agi and sure hands skills is a nice asset to have on the team. Marcus Manley's speed should create some good opportunities to create some turnovers with his tail or by out right blitzes. They also have a deep bench coming in with 13 players this season as well as a fairly substantial war chest of 320K which means if they do lose players they should be able to replace them fairly quickly.

Weakness: The lack of break tackle on any Saurii at the moment means they can be tied up with linos while the other team's blitzers go skink hunting. Throw in the fact that there really isn't a quote "super star" caliber player on the team right now means the Lizards could have some trouble stopping other team's ball handlers since they only have 1 tackler on the team and he doesn't have BT.

X-factor. Right now none of the team's Saurii have BT. How soon coach ex-convict addresses this issue will determine how successful the California Golden Lizards will be this season.

3. CDI Slannunity College

Coach: keggiemckill
Race: Slann
Players: 1 Freshman, 4 Sophomores, 8 Juniors

CDI comes into their third season in the NCBB looking to make some noise after going. 1-2-4 in the conference last season. They did not have a bowl appearance last season and would prefer not to have a repeat performance this season. On the plus side being only in their 3rd season graduation hasn't hit the team yet.

Strengths: Having a team full of leapers can create some interesting dynamics on the pitch. Throw in a pretty deep bench with 13 players they have bodies to hang with most teams this season. They have a modest 230k war chest to replace any lost or injured players during the season. We like the unsung heros of the pitch on this team. CDI's best lino and perhaps best player on the team is Metta "Metal" Eden coming into this season with a +agi and guard as a skillset. On a slann team this means he can support either the blitzer or the ball carrier as needed.

Weakness: The lack of tackle or wrestle once again seems to be a recurring theme in this conference this season. If this issue isn't addressed it could be a long season for Slannunity College.

X-factor: Leap frogs with agi 4 can do some amazing things. We'd like to see one developed into a wrestle/stripball to leap into some cages and bring a ball carrier down.

4. Missouri Two-Hand-Touch Tigers

Coach: Relezite
Race: Pro elf
Players: 3 Freshman, 2 Sophomores, 5 Juniors, 3 Seniors

Coming off winning their first National Championship the Elves from Mizzou and Coach Relezite are finally glad to have that monkey off their back. Throw in the fact that this team didn't graduate anyone last season means they are primed to make a repeat performance and return to the National title game again.

Strengths: Having a whole team full of agi 4 or better creates some match up nightmares for opposing defenses. Throw in a dedicated thrower in one Ian Mason with blodge,SH, and accurate and a trio of NoS catchers and even having said catchers marked doesn't mean they aren't going to catch the ball. Throw in a junior lino with +str and another with guard and you have the formula for some good cage breakers. Throw in the fact that they are seasoned and know what it takes to get to the big game and this team is going to be tough to stop.

Weakness: The biggest problem Mizzou will have is keeping players on the pitch if/when they run into a really bashy team. AV 7 is just the achillies heel of all great elf teams. Having only 50k in the war chest means they are not going to be able to just replace any lost players during the season and could factor in down the stretch.

X-factor: This team has one huge X-factor in the form of superstar catcher David Chow. +agi, +agi dump off, blodge. You're just not going to be able to stop this great catcher who is primed to be a top 3 pick in the NBFL if/when he graduates from Mizzou.

5. Penn State Naughty Lions

Coach: Woodpusher
Race: Humans
Players: 4 Freshman, 7 Sophomores

This new comer from the Non-AQ comes in with a 2-2-2 record. They definitely employ an abnormal human starting team. Using 2 throwers with only 1 catcher and no Oggie on the roster. This team has quite a few red shirt freshman on it and we're not sure if that's a good thing or not yet. It does mean that this team has room to grow exponentially...that is if they survive long enough. Last season this team had 4 of their team mates buried at Happy Valley cemetery as well as one leave the team due to a career ending injury.

Strengths: Overall team speed is pretty solid as with all human teams. This team looks like the have put a point of emphasis on ball handling since they have a pair of throwers on the roster. Devin Lucas looks to be the captain of the team and as a blodging sure handed thrower he will be able to make a few tough pickups and dodges to pass the ball down field to any of his team mates who may be open. Since most players on this roster haven't skilled yet they is nothing but upside to their skill sets and could have many chances this season of adding some special players.

Weakness: The lack of tackle/wrestle in this conference is really starting to lead to a serious weakness in this conference. Lack of any strength or dauntless on any player on this team means that when they run into a strength based team they are going to get pushed around...a lot.

X-factor: The team captain Devin Lucas maybe good for one perhaps 2 wins or ties that should have been a lost for the team this season. If some of these young players develop quickly they could upset one of the major powers in the conference who underestimate them.

6. Texas SnM

Coach: Smeat
Race: Dark Elf
Players: 1 Freshman, 7 Sophomores, 2 Seniors

This conference veteran is coming off a solid 4-0-2 conference record last season. They are coming off a big DedEx Orange bowl victory over TCU. The graduation of star blitzer Darkmontre Moore creates a sizable void in the blitzer corps. The also lose a strong player (+str, blodge) on the team to graduation in lino Marcus Darkley. Since there is only 10 active players on the roster at the time of this publication we guess that SnM will be adding a freshman blitzer to the squad before the OoC schedule begins.

Strengths: As with all elf teams having a full team of agi 4 means you have the ability to do things other non agi 4 teams cannot. Namely having a pretty darn good passing, catching, and running game. With a pair of wrestle linos and 1 tackler this team actually can bring down other blodgers in the league. We also look for their special teams to factor in to games this season with good team speed and the kick skill of one Darkvis Harrison.

Weakness: Having 10 starters on the roster atm and only 160k in the war chest means some decisions are going to need to be made. Do you add just a blitzer or witch to roster or go with a little more depth and add a pair of linos? There is enough money to add an assassin and a lino but I will not pretend to know the mind of coach Smeat.

X-Factor: Two words you will need to remember this season "Darvante Harris" Not only is he the fastest player on the team he's the strongest. Add in some blodge with SS and this guy is going to be handful to deal with on the pitch. Add in sophomore lino Cedark Ogbuchi (guard) and now you have a nice cage breaking combo.

7. U.Con. Huskies

Coach: ryanfitz
Race: Necromantic
Players: incomplete as of the moment (seems there are some issues that need to be sorted)

Another conference veteran who's been around forever and a night. No bowl game last season and a very peculiar conference record last season with only 3 games actually being played (lets hope it's better this season) This team has a deep roster naturally since they're necros and transfers happen from time to time with a team like this. Having 16 players on the roster atm (awaiting some issues to be sorted on this) however only have one flesh golem is odd.

Strengths: Deep developed team. They have a good mix of ghouls with one freshman and one senior. Both werewolves are young and should be ready to improve throughout the season the same goes with both wights. U. Con has a deep war chest of 650k so they will be able to make any roster adjustments whenever they need it.

Weakness: Having a single tackle dog might not quite be enough in this conference with California, Mizzou, and Texas in the conference. Also the lack of a reliable ball handler could cause some issues in key situations.

X-factor: Attack speed. Having 2 dogs and 2 ghouls means you can get into an opponents backfield in a hurry and disrupt any offensive game plan he might have especially if he's caught in a blitz. Since most of the team is fairly young we expect some fairly good improvements in the players this season and could lead to a special player or two developing during the season.

Conference prediction
1. Missouri Two-Hand-Touch Tigers
2. Texas SnM
3. U.Con. Huskies
4. California Golden Lizards
5. CDI Slannunity College

Seriously Injured Issue#120 Preseason part 2

Fumbbl Bowl Conference

1. Florida Rotting Gators

Coach: Garnak
Race: Nurgle
Players: 4 Freshman, 5 Sophomores, 3 Juniors

This 5th season team comes in the season with 12 players and 0 seniors. Sporting 3 NWs that are freshman (including one red shirt) things could be a bit difficult for the Gators this season. They did not go to a bowl game last season although they did win Uluthan's Rose Bowl the season prior. This team looks to muscle it's way into a bowl game this season if they have anything to say about it.

Strengths: Well they are Nurgle which means they are big and ugly two things that can disrupt handoffs, passes, and catches. Throw in the fact that they have all their positionals on the roster now and they have a chance in every game they are in. Let's not ignore the fact all the positionals have regen as well. This team can add some transfers during the season which they most likely will need down the stretch.

Weakness: 3 out of the 4 NWs are skill less at the time of this publication. They have a very small war chest coming in at 10k. Replacing any positional will be problematic unless boosters come in during the season with a nice cash infusion. The lack of a dedicated ball handler could be a problem during key plays during a game. The lack of tackle or wrestle could make bringing down any blodgers a tough task for this team. This team is not very fast with only 4 players with 6 MA. If they get behind it could be hard to catchup.

X-factor: They are nurgle so they do have built in mutations(FA and DP on the NWs also additionally tentacles on beastie) as well as mutations being normal skill ups on all their players with the exception of Charlie LaPradd (beastie) So it is conceivable that a special player could develop during the course of the season.

2. ITBA Tinkerers

Coach: Garcangel
Race: High Elf
Players: 2 Freshman, 9 Sophomores

This new comer from the Non-AQ last season joins the conference with respectable 3-1-3 record from last season. We like the fact that every sophomore on the team has at least one skill and a couple with 2. SI has this team on spoiler alert status for the more established teams in this conference....FBC you have been warned.

Strengths: This team has your normal elfy advantage of an all agi 4 team but they have a nice young blitzer in the making by the name of Matt D.B who already has +str. This team also employs 4 catchers who all have at least one skill so far in this programs young career which means...this team has speed. Throw in the fact that they have a well developed young sophomore thrower and to beat this team you're going to have to out score them.

Weakness: This team doesn't have any tackle and only a single wrestle player. Getting a skilled ball carrier down may pose a problem for the team this season until this issue is addressed. Having a small war chest of 60k could make it hard to replace positionals this season. Having only 11 players on the team means any players missing on the pitch this season will be felt.

X-factor: Having a safe throw thrower in Cecy L.B. means they can for the most part ignore players in the passing lane and get the ball down field in a hurry. It's going to be hard to stop this young squad from getting into the end zone this season.

3. Nippon U Triumphant Lions

Coach: Lorebass
Race: Lizardmen
Players: 5 Freshman, 1 Sophomore, 3 Junior, 1 Senior

This team looks really young this season with graduation of 2 saurii this past season. Losing both saurii has left some recruiting woes for Nippon U as they only have 5 active saurii on the team. Nippon U finished the conference with a respectable 4-0-3 record (2 wins were forfeits) This lack of games may have hurt more than helped though as there is a lot of unskilled players on this team this season. Half the current roster has no skills.

Strengths: These guys have good team speed with fast moving skinks and fairly fast saurii. Also being so young means this team has a lot of room to develop well during the season.

Weakness: This team has a serious lack of skills and even players. This team will field two walkons (journeyman) in their opening game this season. They only have 5 saurii on the roster currently of which none have block or BT. Skinks are going to have a hard time surviving on the pitch this season until these issues are addressed. No tackle or wrestle players means blodgers will be a bane to this team.

X-factor: A serious lack of tackle and wrestle by a lot of teams means Nippon's skinks should be able to score often and skillup quickly to perhaps gain a special player that can be a game changer.

4. Notre Dame Flying Irish

Coach: Robocoyote
Race: Pro Elf
Players: 1 Freshman, 2 Sophomore, 5 Juniors

Notre Dame is starting their 3rd season in the NCBB. They had a 2-1-4 record last season and hope to improve on it this season. They did not go to a bowl game last season. They hope to change their post season luck this upcoming season. On the plus side at least graduation has not hit this team yet.

Strengths: Standard elfish 4 agi. This team has quite a few well developed players on the roster. No less than 4 players have at least 3 skills each. They have 2 tacklers on the team as well as one wrestler so attacking the ball carrier should not be an issue for this team this season.

Weakness: With only 8 players active on the roster atm coach Robocoyote needs to get on the recruiting trail and add some players to his roster. He does have a war chest of 250k but most if not all of that will be used recruiting some new freshman to the team this preseason. Once these players are recruited a lack of a bench will be the biggest problem for this team going forward into the season.

X-factor: There are two on this team and very nicely developed Junior blitzer by the name of Pundem Hardfist who has MB as well tackle and frenzy. This guy will most opposing ball carrier's life a nightmare this season. Add in super catcher Adamic The Amazing who is a +agi blodge catcher and you some instant offense as well on the team.

5. Old Dominion Monarchs

Coach: Arktoris
Race: Human
Players: 2 Sophomores, 10 Juniors

Old Dominion is entering their 3rd season in the NCBB. Last season they had a 2-1-4 record. They did not go to a bowl game last season. Their future looks bright with so many skilled players returning however and have aspirations for post season play this season. Being in their third season they have not lost any seniors yet always a plus.

Strengths: Arktoris is a capable coach who has a lot of tools at his disposal this season. With 3 catchers and 4 blitzers this team is a fast. Add in a thrower who has a +ma increase and they get even faster and can stretch the field even more. Having 4 MB players on the roster means they are quite capable of dishing some pain to go with that speed. They also have a deep war chest coming in at 390k which means any injury to the team will be easily replaced. 3 blodgers on the team can give opposing coaches headaches.

Weakness: With all that speed comes some lack of strength in 3 players. While human catchers are not stunty they are av7 and that can mean squish. If they run up against a strength based team they could have some issues with only an oggie and 2 total guard on the team.

X-factor: Sophomores on this team are going to decide some games. Sophomore thrower Captain Insano has 7 MA and will be able to stretch the field whether rushing or passing. Sophmore blitzer is +agi and gives Captain Isano another fast target down field as well as a reliable backup ball carrier should the need arise.

6. Oregon Waterfoul

Coach: Kryten
Race: High Elf
Players: 1 Freshman, 3 Sophomores, 6 Juniors, 1 Senior

This storied program lost in last season's National Championship game to Mizzou. I am sure coach K is looking to return to the National Championship game and bring another trophy home to Eugene. Last season they had a 5-1-1 conference record which was good enough for first place in their conference last season. We don't see much changing this season. There are some holes to fill with graduation this season as the team captain graduates a nasty blitzer named Kenny "Eatons Pintail" Gonzales who had an impressive 33 CS career with Oregon.

Strengths: The normal elfy agi 4, Outstanding coaching, a fairly decent war chest coming in at 250k means coach K will be able to replace any players needed throughout the season if the injury/RIP bug hits the team. Two wrestlers on the team one with strip ball means elfy cage breaking at it's best. Having some special linos on the team in junior Albert "Freckled Duck" Hideouseagle (+str, block) and senior Cory "West Indian Whistling Duck" Beebles (guard, wrestle) will aid in protecting the ball carrier or attacking the opponents ball carrier

Weakness: Losing captain Kenny "Eatons Pintail" Gonzales means losing Oregon's all time leading CS man and replacing him with a freshman blitzer. It also means there's no tackle on the team which could make it hard to bring down some blodgers.

X-factor: We expect coach K to replace Kenny with a freshman blitzer however if he doesn't what will he add to give some depth to the team. As of now there will be only 11 active players on the roster. Perhaps a 3rd or even 4th catcher? Only coach K knows and that really is the X-factor to the team this season.

7. Rolla Gold Diggersl

Coach: Sutherlands
Race: Norse
Players: 2 Freshman, 3 Sophomores, 8 Juniors

Rolla Gold is in their 3rd season in the NCBB. They had a very impressive 5-1-1 conference record last season but lost the head to head to Oregon to come in 2nd in the conference. They played Wisconsin last season in the Uluthan's Rose Bowl and won which was quite an impressive feat as well beating the back to back former National Champion. Will this season be the "Golden" season for coach Sutherlands only time will tell.

Strengths: Both starting blitzers are of the nasty POMB variety and looks to remove opposing players from the pitch quickly. Add in the team's Snow Troll A.J. Warmonger who btw is a Clpomber himself and it's easy to see coach Sutherlands very effective coaching philosophy. Both runners on the team have some special talents as well with one having +MA and the other +agi giving a nice one two punch for the offense after the blitzers and ST have removed enough players to safely run into the endzone. They have a pretty deep bench with 13 players on the starting roster. Having 2 tacklers and 2 wrestlers and an additonal wrackler means blodgers will not be an issue for this team.

Weakness: Av7 can always lead to issues of keeping players on the pitch. Several players on the team have lower than AV 7 and that could be issue as well. Throw in the fact that both Ulfs are freshman and there could be some blocking issues from these guys until they gain the block skill. A modest war chest of 150k could be an issue until the booster club can add some money to the war chest.

X-factor: Frenzy, MBPO, and CLPOMB means these guys know how to remove opposing players from the pitch. How ever one of the dynamic duo (blitzers) has AV5 and may have issues staying on the pitch this season.

Conference prediction
1. Oregon Waterfoul
2. Rolla Gold Diggers
3. Old Dominion Monarchs
4. Notre Dame Flying Irish
5. ITBA Tinkerers
6. Nippon U Triumphant Lions
7. Florida Rotting Gators

Should read...
Players: Incomplete due to the coach being a raving drunk.
Although I see no reason that should put us below the chumps at Texas. Another team i could accept, but that insult is just too much!

Seriously Injured Issue#120 Preseason part 3

Smack 7 Conference

1. Alabama Green Tide

Coach: OTS
Race: Orc
Players: 4 Freshman, 1 Sophomore, 1 Junior, 6 Seniors

This senior deep team looks to take it to the Smack 7 this season. Last season they came in 2nd place with a very respectable 4-2-1 record and a bowl invite to the Tossitos Fiesta bowl which they ended up losing 3-1 to Slam Diego State. This season will be different as the seniors had a taste of the big bowl game and this year want to challenge for the conference crown and a shot at the national title game.

Strengths: They're Orcs....they are big, green, and tough. Which means they'll be hard to get off the pitch. They by far have the best blitzer corps in the Smack 7 this season with 3 seniors and a freshman blitzer to learn from the seniors this season. This Orc team actually has a true passing attack as well with 2 blitzers have 4 or better agi. So the rest of the Smack-7 watch out...these orcs will finesse or smash you to win game this season. They have a moderate war chest with 240k which means if needed they can replace a few players this season.

Weakness: Have 2 freshman BoBs and can lead to some rough blocking assignments on occasion and could lead to a key end of turn because of the lack of block on these two freshman BoBs. Having a freshman lino could have the same results if he has to make a key block.

X-Factor: It's not often we see it with orc teams but the Alabama has a true passing game with blitzers Trey Depriest (+agi, tackle, MB) and Xzavier Dickson( MB, PO, +agi, tackle, +agi) and the trigger orc in AJ McCarron ( dodge, SS) This team has the ability to score with anyone this season.

2. Buffalo BulICentaurs

Coach: Shades_SteelFist
Race: Chaos Dwarf
Players: 3 Freshman, 8 Sophomores

This storied program is having to rebuild from the ground up. Coach Shades is starting from scratch and comes from the Non-AQ with a respectable 2-1-2 record. No bowl game last season of course being in the middle of the Non-AQ pack. It's going to be a tough season on Buffalo this year with the more elite teams in the conference but luckily they are CDs which means 5 of their players come with a pretty nice starting skillset of block tackle thick skull so it won't be as bad as it could be.

Strengths: Right now because they are Chaos Dwarfs they have most of the basics covered with block and tackle built into their CDs. Their only BC one Galapa "hoofs" Surehoof (BT, SHs) already has a nice skill set to be productive for the BullCentaurs this season in the ball carrier role. They also have one hobgoblin with kick and another with DP so their special teams is covered nicely as well.

Weakness: No doubt about it having only 5 of 6 CDs and 1 of 2 BCs is going to be a detriment to team success this season as well as only having 11 players on the roster currently. Throw in the fact that this team has just a measly 40k in the war chest. It might be hard for Buffalo to replace any lost players this season.

X-factor: Being CDs they do have access to mutations on doubles. So the there is a fair chance that one of the CDs will turn into a nice clpomber before long to help remove opposing players from the pitch. Until he shows up however this team is going to have some trouble making holes for Galapa "hoofs" Surehoof to run through this season.

3. Fresno State Red-Wave

Coach: Robocoyote
Race: Chaos
Players: 3 Freshman, 3 Sophomores, 4 Juniors, 3 Seniors

This veteran of the Smack 7 has a very good blend of talent and youth. Fresno sported a 3-1-3 record last season which was good enough for 3rd place in conference. They were invited to the Wonderbra Wonder Bowl last season and lost 1-0 to California. This season with a deep pool of talent they look to improve their conference position and hopefully get to a new years eve bowl this season.

Strengths: 4 Well developed CWs all of which have a minimum of block and MB for skills. The senior leader of the team one CW Sgt Slaughterdog is the very essence of Chaos( MB, block, claw, tackle, PO) and looks to lead the conference this season in CSs. They have a fairly deep roster with 13 players and have a decent war chest of 250k.

Weakness: The lack of a dedicated ball carrier could be trouble in key plays this season. We look for coach Robocoyote to address this issue ASAP. Several freshman goats lack skills and could always become a liability in the blocking game. Having only 1 tackler means that a blodger could cause problems until more tacklers show up on the team or a wrestle beastman or two shows up.

X-factor: Slim Shady McCoy a junior beastman (+str, Block) gives Fresno another 5 str player on blitzes and could be key in bringing down other big men or the ball carrier. Factor in natural chaos mutation skills...which is in itself an x-factor.

4. Gardner-webb Blitzing Bulldogs

Coach: Bullroarer4
Race: High Elf
Players: 3 Freshman, 1 Sophomore, 6 Junior

This 3rd year team returns to the Smack 7 after posting a 3-1-3 record in conference last season which was good enough for 5th place last season. They did not go to a bowl game last season. This team has some financial issues as well as recruiting issues. They are actually starting to season with 10 "scholarship" players and 1 walk on( journeyman). GW needs to have a success early and often to get the boosters excited about this team and start pouring some money into the team so they can recruit some BCS quality players to the team.

Strengths: Elf agi 4 always a strong advantage on the pitch. Having 6 juniors on the team gives them so fairly skilled players to work with. The best player on the team is catcher Geo Hillsman (block, dodge, SS) and always gives them a chance to score. That will be the focus of this team this season...out scoring their opponents and hoping they have enough players left on the pitch to stop the other team from scoring.

Weakness: 10 starting players and 50k in the war chest means it's going to be a long season if any of the juniors on this team start getting injured. The lack of wrestle and only 1 tackler means blodgers can be an issue to bring down and stop from scoring.

X-factor: Catcher JJ Hubbard!! (+ma) is a OTS threat and could tie a losing game or win a tied game. We expect him to win or tie 2 games this season for Gardner-webb.

5. South Florida Cockroaches

Coach: Honkie
Race: Norse
Players: Incomplete

At this time we do not feel it is fair to do a writeup on this team as they seem to be having some issues.

6. TCU Horned Rats

Coach: FRSHMN
Race: Skaven
Players: 3 Freshman, 2 Sophomore, 7 Juniors

TCU is in it's 3rd season in the NCBB and what a season 19 they had going 6-0-1 to win the Smack-7 conference title. This in turn got them invited to the DedEx Orange bowl where they lost 2-1 to the Texas Sn'M Aggroes. The hard lost could be just the fuel to feed the team this season and have a return quest to win the conference crown again and try to make a run at the national title game.

Strengths: This team is junior heavy and that means well skilled players. Every gutter runner has at least 2 skills. The best of the lot has to be #85 LaDarius Brown (WR) (block, SS, SHs, fend) who has been very consistent in his first 2 seasons at TCU. Skaven means mutation access and could lead to some special players. Both blitzers are solid one taking the role of protector the other attacker. A solid war chest of 300k mean replacement players will be quickly replaced as needed. This team knows how to attack the ball carrier 2 tacklers and 1 wrackle/stripball gutter.

Weakness: Av7 is always hard to keep players on the pitch. The lack of a RO or any player with daunntless or +str means a strength based team can push this team around.

X-factor: The Rats ability to attack the ball carrier and overall team speed means it's going to be a race to the finish line with this team. If you can't out score them you aren't going to beat them.

7. UNLZ Communicators

Coach: Kalessin
Race: Norse
Players: 8 Sophomores

UNLZ in their second season comes straight from the Non-AQ into right into the Smack-7 for the first time. Right now they are short a few players but still have some time to go in the recruiting trail and add some new talent to the team. UNLZ went a respectable 3-1-3 last season in the Non-AQ which was good enough for 4th in their conference. They did not go to a bowl being from the Non-AQ but hope to change that this season.

Strengths: Remember this name Pablito G. (MB, +str) this blitzer is already on some Neely Award list short lists. Having a pair of players with +agi on the team means the passing game is in play for UNLZ. Being Norse means having all your players with block from the get go so they don't have to worry about blocking at all on this team...it comes natural to these guys. When you have as many players as this team with frenzy...no side line is safe for opposing players.

Weakness: No ST not sure if this coach prefers not to utilize this key player yet or not but missing out on a potential clapomber and big guy with DP also to make it harder to pass, catch, and handoff seems ashame. No skills on one of the Ulfs could cause him to frenzy out of position and cause an end of turn during key plays. The lack of tackle or wrestle means blodgers can be a problem for this team. Having only 1 of 2 possible runners who are the fastest players on your team hurts the offense and defense.

X-factor: What players will coach Kalessin add to the roster before the start of the season is unknown at this time but could ultimately be the biggest x-factor for this team. They have 410k in the war chest but need to recruit at least 3 players. Who they recruit will go a long way in the success or failure of this team this season.

Kentucky Fried Reptiles 1 Virginia Tech Horcies 1

This game came right down to the wire- and a draw was the well-deserved outcome for both coaches!

In the first half coach Hayati's Reptiles managed to steamroll their way to the endzone with relative ease- and proceeded to stall (which is rare for coach Hayati- but then again, so is receiving in the first half) before scoring right at the end of the half.

With Corey Marshall killed and being down a player, Virginia were not confident of their hopes going into the second half!

All hope looked lost as Kentucky gradually tightened the noose around the Virginia offense- until a magical series turned things around and secured the draw! It started on the left flank, where the offense was completely shut down- Virginia resolved this via a long bomb pass to the right flank. Unfortunately, their would-be hero managed to stumble while sprinting, allowing Kentucky to redeploy the grinders to their left flank!

Next up came the magic- a double reversal via a long bomb pass back to the left flank! Well, this sequence sure had Kentucky running in circles, and they were unable to reposition the last gasp defenders adequately to stop the score. Superb play from coach jwyatt10!

Virginia go into the next game down two Black Orcs; as coach jwyatt10 remarked, it was an expensive draw!

In coach Hayati's books the star player of the game was Jimmy "Two Tails" Lucchese, who learned Break Tackle after causing 3 casualties in his opening game!

Buffalo Vs Texas

Coach Shades is steaming as the Buffalo Team leave the pitch after losing the opening game of the season, hes not pissed from the loss, his temperament comes from the fact that every member of the team is laughing their heads off as they head back to the dressing room.

*Shades*
"WHAT THE HELL IS SO FUNNY, YOU GUYS KNOW YOU JUST LOST RIGHT...... WHO'S GOING TO EXPLAIN THE JOKE I'VE OBVIOUSLY MISSED"

the dressing room is suddenly silent and Every member of the Bulls takes a step back except Peta "pet" Teacz who was still doubled over in a fit of hysterics.

Kentucky Fried Reptiles 1 Karak University 1

Coach Xeterog

NCBB S20 NonAQ Conference Play 1st match for Karak, 2nd for KFR

After differing to the 2nd half and kicking off, the Reptiles opened up with a blitz. Getting around where the ball was going to land, they looked to be in excellent position to take the early lead. This was helped by Karak's early turn over on a Skull rr Skull block. Sure enough, a Skink grabbed the ball and headed for the EZ--but decided not to GFI as the dwarves are 'known' for dirty tricks like putting a trip wire at the EZ. This was their undoing, as Thompson was able to break away and knock the ball carrier down--as well as himself! The ball bounces into the corner of the EZ and the Skink tries to pick it up--but fails. After the A&M crowd got tired of throwing the ball around, Thompson was able to get to where it landed and heaved a short pass to Larry, who started the long sprint for the opposite EZ--eventually getting there on turn 8. Karak goes into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

2nd half, KAMU kicks the ball too short, and the resulting 'penalty' gives the ball the Jimmy, the Reptiles Krox. There wasn't much the dwarves could do to stop him, as he scored on turn 3--scoring early to hopefully set themselves up for a win. From there though, it was mostly a scrum as the ball changed hands a few too many times as time ran out on the dwarves of Karak and the game ends with in a 1-1 tie.

No skills, but both teams fans loved the game, as it was a very exciting one!

Coach Hayati

Well, this was a fantastic game, of that there is no doubt! After a hard-fought series both teams had to settle with what was overall a fair result, a 1-1 draw. Having said that, there was so much action that the game could easily have been anywhere in the range 3-0 to 0-3!

The action was fast-flowing and included a sudden and massive Blitzkrieg, tackles on the goal line, pigskin pinball in the corner between the two stands of fans tossing the football back and forth, two "textbook" passing plays for Karak, Jimmy "Two Tails" Lucchese single-handedly romping home for a touchdown, and more trips and stumbles than either coach would care to recall!

Both teams had numerous chances to win the game but on each occasion the other coach proved their equal with cunning defensive play. Overall, both coaches played to the strengths of their teams and went for the win resulting in a heap of excitement for the fans.

Good luck to both teams this season!

Non-AQ Week 1

Result from "Rest Point", the home of Army Black Pyramid Football.

Army Black Pyramids 2-0 U Ill Fumbbling Illini

Not a long report, but the Illini won the toss and elected to receive. We managed to gum up the works and with a couple of nice chain pushes managed to free the ball in turn 2. After the pickup we moved down the left flank and scored in turn 7 as it was too risky to stall. Even for one turn.

Second half we received and things looked on a knife edge as play coalesced around the centre of the pitch. Unluckily for the Illini, a 1D block on a skeleton by one of the Illini hobgoblins allowed us to get in behind their line. Yet again, I was a tad concerned about how solid our lock down of the CDs was and as such we scored with a few turns to go. Summing up the Illini day, in turn 7 their ball carrier blitzed, rolled skulls and died. The following move saw a blitz give another hobbo a -MV injury. Next up a CD Blocker got badly hurt. These blocks made the game look more one sided than it was.

A good game and lots of fun.

Non-AQ Week 2

Result from "Rest Point", the home of Army Black Pyramid Football.

Army Black Pyramids 2-1 Memphis State Pro Tigers

This was a great win for us. The trial of the anti-blitz offence got a good early test with Cavetroll rolling it for the kickoff. He got under the ball but we were able to recover. At the time it was a concern because it was recovered by the big TG Justin Gilbert which necessitated a rethink of our drive. In the end we simply tried to force dodges and slowly grind up the pitch. A successful KO foul in turn 2 got rid of their only Block player which meant I was a bit cavalier about basing Gilbert while moving forward. A few more Elves left the pitch and we scored in our turn 8.

The second half saw more 1s being rolled on the dodge dice. Memphis scored early after a successful blitz on our Blitz-Ra covering the ball so we had 6 turns to score. This time Edgar Poe was able to advance with the support of a TG cage which gave Memphis little they could do to get at it. They almost got it with a 1D blitz, but they were out of RR and it was a both down (Phew). Again, a few failed dodges and blocks for Memphis and we rolled it in to win it in the final turn.

Army now improve to 2-0-0, hopefully putting them out of contention for the McNurgle Bowl Very Happy
