They're not edited much. Mutations are changed, and SPP are decreased to reflect the new level of competition, or increased to make the player draftable (if less than 16).

When skills are reduced from 4 to 3 or 5 to 4 (and not necessarily the last skill taken), it stopped having much meaning to me.

Just another reason I'm here and not there. Wink

Awww… I have seen the innards of it and it's mostly fair. Ex sometimes takes off some SPP and if this costs the player a level he takes off the last skill if it was a normal, or bumps them up to the bottom of the level if it was a stat or a hard skill to get at the draft position (like Dodge or JU on a Blitzer or something). Really, the integrity of the process isn't that much of an issue; it's pretty consistent, though there seems to be a randomizer to it.

SDSU produced 3 of the top 4 picks now, BTW. Smile All 4 picks taken so far lost SPP, 2 of the top 4 lost skills. All were taken in the top 4 nonetheless.

No, Redheads pick 9th. No more Smacktecs on our board, probably not on anybody's until Meztli goes, probably in the teens.

Both my Wisconsin players are off the board at #5 and #6. Razz

Hemming and hawing between a Florida player and a Texas S&M player.

Edit: Texas player wins out.

Kentucky Fried Reptiles 3 Karak University 1

https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=3639377

Coach Xeterog

"NCBB S20 NonAQ Conference Play round Game 10 (well, 9 for me as one opponent left the league)

Started out well, with a lucky TD. The Techies of Karak got trapped along the sideline and had to blitz (push), dodge into 2TZ (because of the push), dodge, and GFI 2 times to score--it worked, but the coach should know better than go to the sideline in that situation! Despite Boomer being great with his bombs, we were unable to stop the return score.

2nd half, was a disaster--both Sauri that had been KO'd in the 1st half came back, and Karak could not stop the Reptiles from scoring--at least we forced them to do so quickly. "Learning" from the 1st half, the A&M Techies tried to push up the middle of the pitch, but things fell apart quickly, and KFR scored a 3rd TD.

Finally got some skills after several unproductive games. Thompson gets +1 AG, while Chance gets side-step--learning a thing or two from the lizzards Smile"

Coach Hayati

"A cracking game, Kentucky somehow ended up winning 3-1 although the game felt very close for the most part.

Kentucky ends their NCBB season at 7-3-0, a wonderful and unexpected result for the team.

Thanks to my opponents for the fun and competitive matches and best wishes for the future!"

Season 20 marks the return of SI's quarterly magazine ... In this weeks edition we will... give our in depth analysis and predicted order of finish.

Big Beast Conference
Conference prediction
1. Missouri Two-Hand-Touch Tigers
2. Texas SnM
3. U.Con. Huskies
4. California Golden Lizards
5. CDI Slannunity College
6. Arkansas Laserbacks
7. Penn State Naughty Lions

Almost got the leaders right, and the game was closer than that!

Only notable and repeated bad dice for Missouri allowed Texas to gain a thin lead and then not lose the win in their meeting, making the difference in a 4-1-1 Conference record, a mere half-game ahead of Missouri's 4-0-2. (The Huskies disappeared after Round 2, throwing chaos into the rest of the League, so hard to say after that.)

Respect to the Laserbacks, who had a winning season in their Freshman year - well done, and not an easy feat!

Smack 7 Conference - The Final Standings

Code:

College     %     Overall Rec      OoC Rec     Conference Rec
TCU        .66     4 - 3 - 1      1 - 2 - 0       3 - 1 - 1
S. Florida .57     3 - 1 - 2      1 - 1 - 0       2 - 0 - 2
Alabama    .55     4 - 1 - 3      2 - 0 - 1       2 - 1 - 2
Buffalo    .46     2 - 4 - 2      0 - 1 - 2       2 - 3 - 0
UNLZ       .23     1 - 2 - 5      1 - 1 - 1       0 - 1 - 4

and out of competition:
Fresno             3 - 0 - 0      3 - 0 - 0       0 - 0 - 0
G.-Webb            1 - 2 - 1      0 - 0 - 0       1 - 2 - 1

TCU is back to back Smack Conference Champion with South Florida suprisingly in front of Alabama as runners up. Buffalo on 4 with 2 - 4 - 2 still bowl eligable. Fifth is UNLZ which started okay in OoC, but then crashed (if not collapsed) in conference play.

Out of competion runs Fresno, which had a brilliant start (3 wins in OoC) but then sunk into total Chaos (get it? Wink ) and didn't play a single conference match.
Gardner Webb, bowl-eligable in theory, is somehow self-displeased with its overall performance and will be shutting down the NCBB program as of now.

Smack 7 Conference - Breakdown

Earlier we listed the final standings, now a little more in-depth analysis:

°: Out-of-Conference matches;
*: rivalry matches;
^: under review;

1. TCU (8(9) games, 4(5) - 3 - 1)
Wins: CDI°*, G.-Webb, Alabama*, UNLZ
Forfeit Win: Fresno
Draws: UNS°, ITBA°, Buffalo
Loss: South Florida

Important wins (for the ego) against both their rivals from CDI and Alabama, more or less expected wins vs G.-Webb and UNLZ (both programs shut down). The draws against UNS and ITBA in OoC were not expected but on the other hand aren't that super-suprising either. The draw against Buffalo and even more the loss to South Florida hurt and prevent them (again) from going to the Championship game.

2. South Florida (6(7)^ games, 3(4) - 1 - 2)
Wins: Arkansas°, UNLZ, TCU
Forfeit Win: Fresno
Draws: Arizona°
Loss: Buffalo, Alabama

This program played not a single game in Non-AQ (aka the NCBB Kindergarten), but started from the beginning in the big leagues. Therefore they have been the Underdog for the whole season and it's more than impressive what they made of this situation. Wins against Arkansas, UNLZ and freakin' TCU (WTF!?!?) plus a draw against Arizona. Losses to Buffalo and Alabama stop them at second place, but nevertheless this can be seen as a hell of an inaugural season.

3. Alabama (8(9) games, 4(5) - 1 - 3)
Wins: Clemson°, Notre Dame°, UNLZ, South Florida
Forfeit Win: Fresno
Draws: G.-Webb
Loss: Missouri°*, TCU*, Bufallo

The Boys from Bama have been the Championship aspirant for many out there (including the author), but they somehow could not deliver. It's not that they ain't got talent, they simply couldn't rise above when it counted: Wins against Clemson, Notre Dame, UNLZ and South Florida all could be expected, but the real pain comes from losses against both rivals from Missouri and TCU. Another loss against Buffalo and a draw against G.-Webb just act like the final coffin nails for what should have been their season.

4. Buffalo (8(9) games, 2(3) - 4 - 2)
Wins: South Florida, Alabama
Forfeit Win: Fresno
Draws: Hawaii°, TCU, UNLZ, G.-Webb
Loss: Texas S n’ M°, Rolla Gold Diggers°

A well-respected fourth place for the Bullcentaurs from Buffalo. It wasn't the conference play what kept them away from a better placement. Wins against South Florida and Alabama and draws against TCU, UNLZ and G.-Webb make them be the only undefeated Smack 7 team in conference play. Unfortunately, they really sucked in OoC: Another draw against Hawaii is yet the best result. Losses to Texas S n' M and Rolla Gold Diggers keep them away from the top but can't prevent them being bowl eligable.

5. UNLZ (8(9) games, 1(2) - 2 - 5)
Wins: Navy°
Forfeit Win: Fresno
Draws: U.Con°, Buffalo
Loss: Oregon°, Alabama, South Florida, G.-Webb, TCU

They did farely well in OoC coming out with 1 - 1 - 1. In conference play they had to bow to attrition and could only draw the game vs Buffalo, loosing all of the others. Not being bowl-eligable was more than the officials could bear with so they shut down the program.

And once again, out of competition are running these programs:

Fresno (3 games, 3 - 0 - 0)
Wins: California G.Lizzies°*, Air Force°, Old Dominion°
Forfeit Win:
Draws:
Loss:

Had a perfect start with 3 wins in OoC play, but then they suddenly disappeared from the schedules. It will be an eternal myth of NCBB history what could have become of the during the season. Semi-gods, at least.

G.-Webb (4(5)^ games, 1(2) - 2 - 1)
Wins: UNLZ
Forfeit Win: Fresno
Draws: Alabama, Bufallo
Loss: TCU

Not there from the start, G.-Webb did not do bad neither did they hugely good. They simply have been there. And as rumor has it, they are gone again. Program shut down as of now.

Welcome to the All-American Team Selection Show

Some seasons ago the first ever All-American list of the top players in the NCBB was unveiled, split between Offense, Defense and Special Teams. Fitz was even awesome enough to make a logo to go in these players' bios. Lately, this awesome feature of fluff wasn't in the public eye anymore (we don't say there were no All-American teams... they simply somehow didn't make in the news). But these times are gone by now.
A new Sponsor has acquired the rights to run the show, hired some highly respected Experts and equiped them with State-of-the-Art Analysis Gadgets.
So with another regular season complete, it's time once again to identify the best players in the league and put them on a 'super team,' aka the ...

... All-American team.

Enjoy!

For those coaches who were lucky enough to have one or more players on this list, please put this image into their bios for all to see:
