Tvarnholm Bearskins 2 - 0 Gortag Warskulls

This one really deserved to be a draw despite the absolutely shocking luck of the Warskulls in the opening half (really, 'twere a disgraceful treachery of the dice, check it out if you fancy). The Bearskins were true to their stoic defence and the cost in injuries eventually reaped the reward of a loose ball, some complete arse, and a 2nd touchdown to win the game in style!

All too easy for the champs! Smile

Judas Priestess 2 vs Villainous Sinners 1

The game started off with a Bang ...err boot, when the Sinners surrounded and killed the Priestess top blitzer. The apoth raced across the field, pushed past the zombies and delivered a heartfelt mouth to mouth. And it actually worked.

After having the ball taken away the Sinners got a fortunate bounce, a 5+ catch and a TD.

The Zons faced strong defense on the next kickoff. A foul on the Sinner DP sent him to the BH box, only to regenerate. A lucky T8 TD tied the game as we started the 2nd half.

T1 was the game winner. Three zombies were sent to the KO box including the Sinner DP. The Zon DP "Sinner" sent the Sinners packing with a boot to the head of a skilless flesh golem. The golem fell dead, regenerate not working this time. Star Wolf Seargent Barich, howled "you guys suck" and left the team. The rest of the players stood stunned looking at each other. The Villainous Sinners are no more.

They will be missed.

Riverbottom Nightmare Band 2 - 0 Saints Disease

A lovely old blues night for the band...some hard hits and lucky breaks made for a great show. Opened second half with a cover of "Ballroom Blitz"...floored'em in the aisles and victory was brought home by a very lucky Warrior run.

There was no encore.

Please take a second to mourn the loss of Diphtheria (Saints Diseases), the WWB SPP leader who was put to death by the Moxious Mates of Miyuso.

Those poor beastmen on Rotter teams with no Apoth.

Put to Death? I beg to Differ. He would have survived had he not attempted to headbut an armour spike on one of the MMM's Blitzers Armour. Unfortunate. (He died after rolling a skull)

Judas Priestess 2 - 0 IronForge

The 1st ever win vs dwarf was aided by a wondrous thunderstorm which hung overhead most of the game. Dwarves received 1st half and started the cage. Priestess broke through and got the ball down. A chain push sent the ball to the crowd who then threw it out close to the Zon players. Rather than using a 2nd GFI to ensure freedom, dumb ass Mully stopped and allowed the lineman to bet blitzed.

Ironforge then had a great passing combo which freed up a runner. Just then a lightening bolt came from the sky and knocked him flat, securing a 0-0 halftime tie.

2nd half and the zons broke loose after some poor blocking for a 1-0 lead. Rain then started to poor making the ball slippery and the ladies swarmed like bees on honey. A late TD sealed the deal.

We got outcassed but 2 came in the last 2 turns so not much effect on the game.

Riverbottom Nightmare Band 2 - 0 Grugni's Grudgebearers

Rock On! The Band finally score a hit on foreign shores and it couldn't have been sweeter!

The concert was marred by some Bad Runes that were going around. The crowd was quite annoyed and both invaded the pitch and threw a rock to show their displeasure.

But once the smoke settled it was good old fashioned rock n roll!

Judas Priestess 2 - 2 Tvarnholm Bearskins

The battle of #2 seeds was a bizarre affair. In a game which had more bugs than a Florida swamp in August, a winner could not be determined. Apparently Twahn was playing via a pay phone connection and was feeding quarters into the phone. Every time he was late, the game would disconnect. This led to missing turns, missing players, and a ball that would not land after a kick off.

The Bearskins started on defense and it was "perfect" to start the game. After a grueling 5 minute realignment, they managed to stuff the zons. A failed pickup by the AG4 catcher led to the rude crowdpush and niggle (boo) of the DP. Fans rejoiced. After disconnect #1, the Norse were able to steal the ball and convert for a TD.

The zons pulled off a nifty T8 TD for the haltime tie. Second half KO and we got a blitz. However, this only enabled us to get out of position and allow the norse an easy TD and 2-1 lead. The Bearskins hot dice continued as they stole the ball with some nice 1D blocks. The Priestess brought down the Norse blodger with a 2D pow to save the game, then booted the SOB to keep him from getting back up.

Once again it took a T8 TD to tie the game and send into OT where it remained a tie.

Judas Priestess 2 - 1 Riverbottom Nightmare Band

The Band came to town attempting to rock our socks. Apparently they has never heard of Judas Priestess. And while they were playing their silly country songs, we were ripping out some jams and SIs like they have never felt before.

Outscoring 2-1 and out bashing 3-1 is what we call heavy metal!!

Onto the playoffs

How embarressing! I have heard the cliche "horny as a goat" but had never thought to take it literally. So it is with great shame that we, the coaching staff of the Riverbottom Nightmare Band, apoligise profusely for the actions of our players on the field against the Judas Priestess'. What was billed as a double shot of Hard Rockin' fun quickly deginerated as the Band thought it had walked into some sort of groupie nirvanna. All their recent success in the "Big Leagues" had gone to their horns! So as soon as they caught the tantalizing glimpse of Amazon midrift..they were OFF. "Tackles" were more like grope sessions..and instead of rock n roll they could only manage love songs and ballads. BALLADS!?! Shameful shameful stuff. We can only hope that they compose themselves for the play-offs!

Riverbottom Nightmare Band 1 - 1 Grugni's Grudgebearers (OT)

'Band through on coin toss!

The band were a bit flat in rehersal leading up to this. The fall out over the "Amazon Incident" was still a sore point in the green room. But to find ourselves back against the Grudgebearaers boded well we thought. A 2-0 win in the regular season had hopes high. And a solid start to the set indeed! A classic rocker up the sideline and then some solid riff work saw us up 1-0 at the break.
Dwarves survived an opening Blitz! and constructed a similiar drive up the side as well! They even had to endure the LIGHTNING BOLT temper of the Band Manager...but it caused no real problems. OT!

Recieving seemed a good idea...and then it didn't as the Runeless Dwarves finally snapped! Beasts and CWs were treated like Skaven as their bearded anger was vented! But a cheeky punt/pass near the end was enough to hang on to the draw! A somewhat shady character flipped a coin..and the Band Plays on!

Great fun and a sad way for the Grudgers to go out...

It's only Rock n Roll...But I like it like it yes I do Wink

Tvarnholm Bearskins 2 - 1 Ironforge

The Bearskins hit the field hard and fast, applying this same tactic to their dwarven opponents, as they crunched through the Dwarven lines, showing no fear to their heavily armoured opponents. It was finals time, a time where the champions are seperated from the not champions by proof of worth upon the sacred Blood Bowl field!

This was a really hard fought contest against Gertwise's excellent dwarven outfit. The first half belonged to the Bearskins who quickly gained control of the ball deep in Ironforge territory and sat on it until half time. 1-0 when the whistle finally blew, mere second after they scored.

Ironforge hit back in the second half wiping most all of the Norsemen from the field in the first minutes of their drive. A timely fireball from the Norsemen's prophet of the end times caused a brief melee in the middle which ended in the ball being run free by the Dwarves to score misway through the term.

In the dying seconds it came down to the Dwarven Superblitzer, Battlecutter, being able to the Norse lineman, Flintscar, to the ball before he could launch a long pass downfield to the waiting Kori Manbiter. He failed and the mighty Manbiter ran in his second just before the siren!

Good game Gertwise. Well played despite your luck. Smile

Looks like 2 from 2 for the Aussies, and no Dwarves left for you Yankees! Team Aus OWNS these finals!

Twahn gives ozjesting a high five which quickly turns into an arm wrestle as the two mighty fists grasp the other in a battle of strengths...

Just a shame there is no TEAM in CHAMPION (except the A... and... the M) Wink

Judas Priestess 3 - 0 Saints Diseases

After a long wait, these 2 playoff teams apparently had much pent up agrression. Chicken Pox (Saints) quickly sent a player to the BH box in T1. The women were outraged and replied with an SIed beastman and a BH Beast on the next turn. Before it was over, Priestess has racked up 6 CAS including 2 RIPs. It got so bad, the 3 Saints in the KO box refused to come out till the last turn of the game.

An unexpected blowout vs a good opponent. Thank you Nuffle. Now onto the Norse for some unfinished business.

Riverbottom Nightmare Band 2 - 0 Chaaarge!

Semi-Final Rock n roll spectacular! It all started friendly enough indeed. The Band elected to recieve...and then patiently waited for the Norse fans to re-arrange their seats to get a better look. A deep kick led to some deep run back until one brave goat decided to take off up the sideline unattended. The Norse quickly shut down the insolence and had the ball quickly in hand. But the band knows a bit about pressure play and held firm to score the opener. 1-0 halftime.

Another seating arrangement at the kick and the Band was soon pleased with it's upgrade. Another show of insolence, this time from a "sidestepper" but all the fancy footwork in the world can't stop the POW! A tight scrum formed with both sides suddenly developing fumble fingers. Worst example was when a seemingly easy TD beckoned and the star passer couldn't do the biz. Unlucky indeed...maybe he shouldn't have stopped for the autograph! A 2nd TD to end the festivities and it is off to the GRAND FINAL!

Great game Ug! You had a touch of the Elf about you...never stopped trying and almost pulled off 3 huge moves to take the match. All stymied by Nuffle at the last roll. But great great fun!
