Is it possible to capture the opponent's Fan Factor via that script? Since the fan factor will change in further matches played by that opponent, it's important that we pick it up as a snapshot of that particular match.

FF would be okay, but i think there should be a min. TS (TS of opponent equal or higher, or even not more than 5 / or 10 points less than own team)

It will have to be written into the match report (like the "ELF in tourney" or "ELF vs EMU" bonuses) by the coach for the Java to see it. Only the stuff that appears on that page can be compiled.

Or Christer could add Fan Factor to the stuff auto listed on the match report!

In a discussion with the ELF tech guys, this was suggested:

I don't like it too much when coaches need to put stuff in themselves for every match. What we do have on the match report is the gate for the match. This is both opponents and own fan factor and some random factors. I think encouraging high FF for ELF teams is also a nice way to encourage people to get their own teams experienced as opposed to the start a fresh team and go for the ELF title by playing the bashers on low level. So I would like to use the gate for the match for the baseline points.

I really think this is a fun idea. AND most importantly, it is totally automated and recorded so the coaches don't need to do anything but play. It also helps to captures the essence of giving some measure of favor to experience.

My question becomes, "what weight should this baseline carry?" I'm thinking that with the current scoring format, awarding 1 point for every 10k in attendance might keep the baseline points within the framework where nothing else has to be altered.

Any other ideas? And they have to be suggested quickly, because my window of opportunity to abuse the tech guy is closing!

I think gate divided by 10k should be good

Are we rounding the decimals up or down (or at all)? I like keeping track of my score in my team bio and having to bother with zero point four here or zero point five there is not something I would want to do.

However it is quite a good solution even if we don't round it off. Smile

This sounds terrifyingly awesome. Whoever came up with that idea is a genius.

I think I'll muster my teams and join the E.L.F. again. For death and glory! Very Happy

I'm putting the finishing touches on the fluff and trying to tidy up the main page. Once I get the new Java program in my grubby little hands, I'll get this thing rolling again all official like.

Soon. Very soon.
