Normal Strength access to Each Race: Reliable/Unreliable (+Mutation access)

Chaos: 16 (+16M)
Dwarf: 16
Chaos Pact: 12/3 (+15M)
Nurgle: 8/1 (+16M)
Chaos Dwarf: 8/1
Orc: 8/1
Lizardmen: 6/1
Khemri: 6
Ogre: 0/6
Vampire: 0/6
Human: 4/1
Norse: 4/1
Slann: 4/1
Amazon: 4
Necromantic: 4
Undead: 4
Underworld: 2/1 (+16M)
Skaven: 2/1
Goblin: 1/2
Halfling: 0/2
Wood Elf: 0/1
Dark Elf: 0
Elf: 0
High Elf: 0

So to me it'd end up:

CAT A (3): Chaos, Dwarf, Chaos Pact

CAT B (5): Nurgle, Chaos Dwarf, Orc, Lizardmen, Khemri

CAT C (6): Human, Norse, Slann, Amazon, Necromantic, Undead

CAT D (5): Skaven, Wood Elf, Dark Elf, Elf, High Elf

CAT E (5): Ogre, Vampire, Underworld, Goblin, Halfling

Im interested in joining too, but I have a few questions -

1, Can i use a pre existing elf team or do i need to create a new one?
2, Does it have to be in ranked or can B elf teams play too?

P.S. Vampirs should not be in the bottom tier now, they are a very very good team in the right hands at a low to mid TV. and can have 6 players with blodge, and Strength skills.

categories are not "tiers", are just a way to group opponents into similar playstyles, not by competitivity. Cat E used to be known as "Odd", which is exactly what vamps are.

Lol thanks missed that bit about the box, but can we use pre-existing teams though or do they have to be new? I guessing we can but it isnt clear to me?

Edit: Ahh i get the catagories now, but surely vamps should be whereever slann are, because they are both all about cage breaking and both all or nothing teams. I personally find them very similar in someways.

it's in the group description. Existing teams can join at the beggining of cycle, and new teams can join at any point during a cycle.

The old categories were sort of a grouping by casualty inflicting potential by the races in each. What I am wanting to do with the categories now though, is group them in such a way that elf teams in Black Box also have a chance to complete the cycle and compete for the Championship.

So races that see tons of activity AND can defeat elves AND also present the biggest mortal threat (double points!) to elves should wind up in A. Races that see the least activity AND those that seem rather harmless (but still get played a bit) are massed down in E. In this way, a Box team will have to activate fewer times to complete C, D and especially E than they used to with the previous format.

I'm trying to tweak the existing structure to make life easier for Rijssiej to reprogram the Java Scoring Program while adapting the league to the existence of Black Box at the same time.

My other idea was to have 8 "tough" teams that offered double points, 8 average teams, and 8 "weak" teams awarding 1/2 points and let the coaches "build their own cycle" of 10 games (or 8?) with no more categories. I doubt Rizzle wants to make THAT change though! Very Happy

I will also advocate Arktoris' list (mostly).

In general though, I think people are underestimating Nurgle as a bashy team. They are nearly as brutal as chaos in damage potential, and they can mess up elves with their nurglyness.

Can I change my vote? Coz I think this is pretty rocking too.

I like the categories system. It means my elves have to fight a fairly different selection of opponents to finish a cycle, rather than alternate between nurgle, chaos and dwarves to try and rack up the most points.

Other than that. I vote for Arktoris' categories !

Arks categories are nice. Still think Slann should be in C and Skaven in D.

I'm just ready to ELF! I like Both Ark and Ast's category lists. I've got a Wood Elf, and Pro Elf team that is waiting for their ELF glory!

Look at that last category from the perspective of a Box team though. That's 5 races that aren't getting a ton of play (and two of them count as "one" race right now). Some of the other races need to be pulled from B into C and C into D and so on down the list. I appreciate the arrangement by strength access though.

What about having E be the "Elf" category along some of the other oddities? Something like (# of active Box teams):
A: Chaos (113), Dwarf (131), Pact (89)
B: Nurgle (92), CD (112), Orcs (145)
C: Lizzies (66), Khemri (59), Human (69), Norse (87), Slann (47)
D: Zons (43), Necro (96), Undead (87), Underworld (27), Skaven (67), Goblin (18)
E: Ogre (32), Vamps(33), 'flings (19), Wood (57), Dark (98), Pro (38), High Elves(52)

I'm gonna run and get some lunch. Do those numbers add up to a good chance of catching a match from each Category?

Good point re: Blackbox. It's definatly going to be harder for them to have a complete season so helping them out is the nice thing to do.

That list looks pretty solid to me.
