Coeth-Mara could not overcome their -14 Cas difference for the regular season (-24 since team inception including 7 deaths) and will definitely remain in Kislev for their second season. In the final game in which only 6 Elite suited up for the game, the Elite were unable to meet the aggression of the Undead from the Swamp and lost 2-1. On top of the loss, Star AG5 Wardancer Glorandal Stargazer received a smashed ankle that the Apothecary, while attempting to repair it, nearly killed him, and had to spend his effort in saving his life and was unable to make the ankle any better.

But all in all, another season in the Frozen wastelands will probably do these WE some good... if they can survive. They obviously aren't ready for the BIG TIME!

Congrats to Chainsaw and luxyluxo for moving back up. Good Luck up there next season. And Good Luck to B2K and whichever undead coach makes the playoffs. Go Kislev! Wink

I'm back - thanks to everyone who deputised and produced excellent final round summaries in my absence. I really enjoyed reading them!

We've reached the end of the regular season, and I'll start the post-season soon (I'm going to try to get a response from TheThinkTank on whether he wants to continue, and if not, I'll do some substituting).

But, in the meantime, here are the groups:

Challenge Cup
First bracket
Congratulations to the Nilfheim Lumberjacks for winning the Albion conference (again). They'll get a first round bye, but they will be facing either the Malice of Karond Kar or the Zhaar Doom Bringers.

Second bracket
Winning a conference for the first time is a great achievement, so congratulations to the Scalded Delta Dogz for a strong season so far. Can they copy their necromantic compatriots, Castle Drachenfels, and win the Cup? They'll face either the Wasteland Vagabonds or the Gotland Gorers in the second round.

Inter-Conference Shield
Team Albion
Albion won the Shield convincingly last season. This season's Albion team, trying to repeat, will be made up of Turov's Infected, Doom Glade Rangers, Quenelles Carnival, Diseased Wasters, and due to a very close tie-breaker, Orgrimmar Hammers (they were tied with a -0.5 tiebreaker with the Western Oblast Raiders, but beat them 10 v 9.5 in the second tie-breaker (TD for + 0.5*Cas for)).

Team Bretonnia
Facing them in an attempt to restore Bretonnia's honour will be Athel Loren BBoDT, Apuccini Avalanches, Serpents Coast Scavengers, Grimjuice Renegades, and Frostheim United.

If the Avalanches are dropping out, they will be replaced by the Remnants of Kriegfeld, who finished 9th.

Play-offs
This season's round robin play-offs will feature the Western Oblast Raiders Emsk from Albion, Remnants of Kriegfeld from Bretonnia, and Clar Karond Exiles and Doom Glade Swamp-Risers from Kislev. The top two will end up in the Albion/Bretonnia draft - and possibly more if teams from the top divisions drop out between seasons.

If the Remnants get called up to the Bretonnian Shield team, their spot will be taken by Albion's 10th placed team, the Arkhan Faraohs.

Kislev Plate
Promotions and Relegations
The promoted and relegated teams all take part in the Kislev Plate. This season, these will be the Arkhan Faraohs from Albion (unless they are called up to the playoffs, in which case their spot will be empty and will be a free bye) and the Elves of Albion from Bretonnia, who will not be entered into the Kislev Plate as they've been missing all season.

The two promoted teams from Kislev, who will feature in next season's draft but will play in the Plate in the meantime, are the Akendorf Iron Pigs and the Uzkulak Pirates.

Kislev Teams
The remaining 5 teams that will feature in the Plate competition are Coeth-Mara Elite, Lahmia Undead United, Marienburg Magpies, Gaen Vale Starlights, and Rock Skull Pirates.

And finally...
Giant-Killer Award
This season's Giant Killer Award goes to Quenelles Carnival for their wins over the Western Oblast Raiders Emsk and the Diseased Wasters, which earned them 580 points.

The runners-up were the Coeth-Mara Elite (500 points) and the Grimjuice Renegades (493 points).

The Gotland Gorers managed to chance their way past the Wasteland Vagabonds last night. Cthugha was a beast, distracting a large group of Vagabonds and holding his own, which left their offensive drive stalling at the half way line. A successful wizard and blitz combo popped the ball loose, and after some lucky bounces, the Gorers managed to snatch it up and run it in to lead 1-0 at half-time. The second half was then a fairly straightforward drive (with more than a few lucky breaks again), ending with another Gorers touchdown.

Despite all that, three Gorers were killed during the match, which featured a total of eight casualties. Brutal.

The Gorers go on to face the Scalded Delta Dogz in the semi-final - a team they've never beaten in four previous encounters (2 losses and 2 draws). Can they break the streak? (Unlikely)

How will the Inter-Conference Shield tournament work when we are only 8 teams in each Conference?

End of season will work a bit differently this season. We are building back up to 10 team divisions again next season, but it couldn work out for season XIII, so we have temporarily dropped to 8.

This post season will therefore be a little different before we move back to normal for season XIV.

First place in Kislev and Norsca will be promoted automatically, while last place in Bretonnia and Albion, along with 2nd, 3rd and 4th from Kislev and Norsca will go into playoffs with top 4 promoted. Not decided yet on the format of the playoffs, but its likely to be 2 mini-leagues of 4 playing round robin.

Meanwhile the remainder of Kislev and Norsca (including the two winners) will play in the Kislev Plate.

As usual 1st, 2nd and 3rd from Bretonnia and Albion go into Challenge Cup.

That means 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th from Bretonnia and Albion go into the ICS. This season we are also trialling the two first round losers from the Challenge Cup joining the ICS in round 2. The conference with the lowest score after round 1 will get first pick of the two teams.

So, we are moving into the final round in season XIII and for the Norsca conference there is still everyting to play for. Remeber the top team gets promoted auromatically, whilst places 2, 3 and 4 go into the playoffs to fight over other playoff spots.

At the top of the table Yvresse Scornfuls and Mighty Dwarves of Karak Azul face off. A win by either team sees them guaranteed to top the league. A tie puts the Scornfuls in prime position to win the league, but will have to rely on their delta (tiebreaker) score staying ahead of any other team that can make it to 7 points. A loss by either side could potentially see them drop as far as 4th in the table so both are in guaranteed playoff spots.

Badland Boarz against Grim Swamp Blackscales, the Boarz are the team best placed to steal the conference if they win this match but the Scornfuls and Mighty Dwarves only manage a tie. With such a decent delta score a tie will likely be enough to see them into the playoffs but a loss will put them at risk of falling out of the scene depending on delta scores. The Blackscales meanwhile cannot make the playoffs but can make a strong move up the table with a win.

Nuln Rodents of Unusual Size verses Lorelorn Children, this is pretty much a straight fight for the last playoff spot, whoever wins will go through. The Rodents even have a very outside chance of taking the conference but it requires an amazing turn around in their delta score. A tie favours the Rodents.

The last match up sees Genaina Blood Sisters take on Kaz a Karak Cannonballers, neither team can make the playoffs now, but whoever gets the better result will avoid the wooden spoon.

Good luck all!

Greetings OWCC fans!!
Time for the exciting preview to the Final Round of OWCC which has now commenced. And what a final round we have, so let me get straight to it.

I must start with the Bretonnia Conference, where the competition has been blown away by the CDorfs of Zhaar, who certainly brought the Doom to the rest of the conference. 4 straight wins have given them the title for this season with an unassailable lead going into the last round. So, its down to the chasing pack to battle it out for the minor placings. And, excitingly, the pack of 4 in with a chance of the Cup sports all play each other - Wotfudboy's crew are sitting pretty in 2nd at the moment, and, due to a huge CAS diff of +20, have a tiebreaker of +11. Any sort of win would more or less guarantee 2nd for the Diseased Wasters. A draw would mean that a Delta Dogz win would give them 2nd. A loss would put them in jeopardy of falling out of the Challenge Cup places altogether, finishing as low as 5th - surely unthinkable!

The Dogz result must be better than the Wasters for them to sneak into 2nd, but draw could be good enough to hold 3rd if neither the Magpies nor Pregals Malice, whom the Dogz play, manage a win. A loss for the Dogz would definitely see them drop out of the cup places. For both the Magpies and the Malice, its basically win or bust, as draws or losses would not see them gain any places on 2nd or 3rd

Down towards the lower end of the division, Turovs Infected, Doom Glade Swamp-Risers and Gotland Gorers are all on 2 points going into their final games. The infected face the League winners in a tough match, but know that a draw would see them safe for another season, due to a much better CAS rating. The match up between Hakawarrior and gjopie will go a long way to deciding who gets relegated, because the winner of that match will condemn the other to a demotion.

Well, with the relative simplicity of the Bretonnia conference over and done with, now comes the complexity of deciphering the Albion Conference. Wow, this one is tight!! 3, count ‘em 1-2-3 teams are still in with a chance of the title in this division.

Firstly , due to both being on holiday for most of the round, it was agreed that the match between Lahmia and the Scavengers would be recorded as a draw. Unfortunately, the site doesn’t cater for this too well, and Lahmia should have the following record

W2, D2, L0 TD+5, TD-2, TD Diff 3, CAS+7,CAS-2, CAS Diff 5, Pts6

And the Scavengers as follows :

W2, D1, L1, TD+4, TD-2, TD Diff 2, CAS+10, CAS-9, CAS Diff 1, Pts5

The Humans and Chaos might have thought they had a chance of the title going into this round, but with Elves playing the Lizards in the final fixtures, one of those teams must end up with at least 7 points.

So lets get on with it!

Lahmia Undead United are top of the pile so far, and with a CAS difference of at least 4 better than any of the chasing pack, a win more or less guarantees them the title, barring a huge scoring win for the Circus Elves! A draw for the Undead against the Humans would mean that a win for the Elves would clinch it for them. A draw could technically give then the title, should the Undead draw, but they would have to obliterate the Lizards. A loss for SzeiberthAdam would definitely see them miss out on silverware, and depending on some big results, could see them fail to enter the Cup

For Quenelles, basically they must better the result of the Undead to be the “Big Cheese”, but a loss could see them fall out of the cup places should the Raiders win. A draw would cement a cup spot.

For the Serpents, its a win only to grab the title, and rely on Emsk beating LUU. Difficult, but possible! A draw would give them a cup place, as long as WORE and WV don’t both win by too much!

Both Western Oblast and Wasteland Vagabonds need to win, and hope other results go their way for a chance to continue their season in the cup!

Looking downwards, last seasons Conference winners have had a tough season, and whilst can’t finish bottom would surely hope to finish on a high, and rebuild during the Conference shield. They can sneak into 3rd place, if my calculations are correct, by winning their game well, and LUU and QC both winning – fingers crossed time for the lumberjacks (Can you chops trees with your fingers crossed?? I digress)

The Grimjuice Renegades and Frostheim United have met more times this season than I’ve had hot dinners!! This will be the 3rd time, with the Renegades boasting a win and a draw, but a CAS diff of -6 on those 2 games. Frostheim must avenge themselves and march to victory to avoid relagation, whilst the Grimjuicers just need a draw to survive (well, some of them might survive, but not many!!)

GL guys - may your dice roll well, and your opponents armour be broken!

The Kislev and Norsca Plate XIII

Greetings OWCC fans!! Welcome to this years Plate competition, and what a hot one we have go for you this time!

2 Preliminary games to be played, and then on to the Quarter Finals, should be great action from the get go, so lets take a quick look at the Prelim's first

Those Looters from Mootland were first out of the hat, and have proved difficult to beat so far, losing just 4 of 11 League games, a fantastic record for the little guys! All that extra training to keep their TV trimmed is paying off, as they look like taking a massive 990k worth of inducements into this game. Surely another outing for 2 of Zara, Puggy or Deeproot? Who are they up against? Experienced campaigner Aboigor's Arkhan Faraohs that's who! Will the mighty Guardians blast through the Flings, or will the stunted ones be able to dodge their way to the Quarter Finals - only time will tell...

Our second prelim game is without doubt one that will provide plenty of action and TD's (or have I just cursed it to be a bore - draw and go to penalties??) as 2 of our newer teams face up, Rats v Lizzies.
Both teams have had reasonable starts to life in the OWCC, and will hope to bring glory in the shape of the Plate in their first season. Deyempe's Rodents will certainly miss "Hop", but will hope a combination of dodging from the Gutters, and guarded power from the Blitzers and Ogre will win them through to the next round. Burnalot's Blackscales will have something to say about that though, as their Saurus/Skink combo will look to clamp down on the vermin straight off. 2 blocking Saurus' in "Hoatepl" and "Quotzalopatepl" could be the difference and the way home for the Grim Swampers!

My predictions for the Prelims :
Mootland's Moot Looters 1-2 Arkhan Faraohs (in OT!)
Nuln Rodents of Unusual Size 3-2

Good luck to all - may your TD's be glorious and your hits be bloody!!

Prelim + Quarter Final deadline 25/08/16 (Allowances will be made for the extra round)
Semi Final deadline 05/09/16
Final deadline 15/09/16

The great big fat draft Season XIV

The two conference winners from last season met the league admins to decide who would have the privilege of butchering who in coming season.

Patator, reigning champ and captain of Bretonnia goes against his great rival SzieberthAdam captain of Albion. As Albion won the Interconference Shield last season (10-4, a thrashing really) they got to pick first.

Before the start though it was already decided that Hakawarrior would go to Bretonnia and bladten was sent straight to Albion so as to keep teams of the same races out of the same divisions.

First round – SzieberthAdam made clear that his favourite opponents were humans and picked palandt to join the Albion team, Patator meanwhile declared a bold strategy of picking only the strongest teams to build a superteam in Bretonnia, so started his pick with Meanandugl, who is back after his sabbatical and former multi conference winner.
This meant the other wood elf team of Doofr goes to Albion

Second round – Team Albion picks ttorvan, a previous conference winner and frequent Challenge Cup participant, while Team Bretonnia picks Wotfudboy, also an established winner, but perhaps more importantly the most lethal team in OWCC.

Third round – SzieberthAdam continued his counterstrategy of taking the weaker teams and picked uzkulak, Patator meanwhile went for conference newbie Sharkrudi

Fourth round – Team Albion picked another one of the bright young newly promoted stars - Karrashantemi, Team Bretonnia meanwhile continued their habit of picking former conference (and Challenge Cup) winners, taking The_Demon

Fifth round - SzieberthAdam added some claw to his Albion squad by picking another former winner - Vesikannu, while Patator picks Kamo22 to join his Avengers Assemble gang in Bretonnia. This last pick means the other dwarf team of android18 goes to Albion.

Sixth round - Albion now has a full squad with the two extra they took along the way, so Bretonnia were awarded the remainder – who were Aboigor and Krytie

Vesikannu chose not to use his Royal Pardon, so no conference switches this season.

Matthueycamo as highest scorer of the two minor division winners from last season wisely chose to go into Albion, so ThierryM joins the bloodbath in Bretonnia

Final score looks like this:

Bretonnia
Patator, Zhaar Doom Bringers,Chaos Dwarf
Hakawarrior, Doom Glade Swamp-Risers, Undead
Meanandgul, Athel Loren BbodT, Wood Elf
Wotfudboy, Diseased Wasters, Nurgle

The_Demon, Scalded Delta Dogz, Necromantic
Kamo22, Mighty Dwarves of Karak Azul, Dwarf
Aboigor, Arkhan Faraohs, Khemri
Krytie, Marienburg Magpies, Chaos Pact
ThierryM,Yvresse Scornfuls, High Elf

Albion
SzieberthAdam, Lahmia Undead United, Undead
bladten, Frostheim United, Chaos Dwarf
Palandt, Western Oblast Raiders Emsk, Human
Doofr, Lorelorn Children, Wood Elf
ttorvan, Serpents Coast Scavengers, Lizardman
Uzkulak, Quenelles Carnival, Elf
