Hi everyone, me again doubting on skills.

I was bent oon giving this guy (http://www.fumbbl.com/p/player?player_id=9718285) a much needed tackle... but he got a 5+5 on his skill roll and that got me thinking.

Sure, I won't give him +av, but the +ma is tempting. Dodge or Jump Up also come to mind, as he is frequently blocked (and taken out of the field, that too). No need for leader, as already another player of the team has it.

Your thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

take PO

you don't have a killer.

Since he is already Block/MB/Claw I'd go with JU and then PO.

But MA7 is always useful on a blitzer.

Tackle is of course also quite good, but if you take JU I'd take PO, else I'd take MA and then tackle if you're not interested in taking PO.

Jump up or piling on.

And buy some rotters/pestigor to get up to 14 players.

+1.

You have your Ballhandler, Vereno will become your Killer, but in theory you still need a Ballhawk Pesti (Wrestle/Tackle/Strip, Frenzy optional) and a Sweeper (Wrestle/Block, Tackle, Diving Tackle, Sidestep, Frenzy optional).

Of course, in practice, one is always "in training" to replace the most recent loss, but you want all 4 in the mix either way.

(And those skills are rough targets - many ways to achieve those roles for a given player, and doubles/+stat can easily derail a simple plan.)

I rarely have problems in the kill department, actually, with 2 warriors having claw+mb, but I know they are more of a scrum/attrition asset. I need an efficient and dedicated blitzer. Ok, it'll be JU followed by PO and, if he gets there, tackle. The "younger" pestigor will group up to be the sweeper or the ballhawk, depending on his skills.

Thank you all, guys!

Problem with nurgle is they only have 4 pestigors so getting too fancy while skilling them up might cost you in the long run compared to chaos who have beastmen in spades.

Of course it's too late now but if the ball carrier had taken tackle instead of pro he would have been a great sweeper on defense now.

You can't imagine just how much I regret picking pro. I know everyone finds it super useful, but in my short experience with it, it's always dissapointed me. Only worked twice or thrice in more than a dozen games, and once of those times it re rolled to double skulls...

Yeah it's pretty limited which players want pro.

Have you considered having some reserves on your team?

Pro is great for blockers, big guys and possibly ball hawks, for ball carriers and throwers not so much. Blitzers can benefit from it once all important skills are taken, but there's often yet another useful strength skill left...

Every once in a while I get myself to adding a few reserves (one or two, no more), but with that few tv going up, I find myself way over my head and geting my butt kicked by far better coaches. So I'm trying to take it easy and slowling learning the higher tv enviroment before.
