Round Three Predictions

Hngri-Hngri Lizzies v Tribute to Alan Parsons
Luohghcra's record v Polemarch is 5:3 and 3:0 against the Tribute. So the punters already have the odds favouring another win. The Lizzies Sauri have the potential to cause a great deal of hurt, but the amount of tackle in the Tribute might do the same to their skinks. Should be a high scoring game and possibly enter overtime. Hngri-Hngri Lizzies to win as Polemarch will undoubtably choke on some double skulls or snakes.

Blackwater Blitz v Elvander
Undoubtedly the two most agile teams in the cup with ball handling and pinching capabilities everywhere. Coach Rabid has demonstrated great skill with inducements and playing up against Chavo might suit the Elvander as any dropped, mishandled or loose ball will be pounced on. The safe bet is for a Blitz win, but fortune favours the brave (stupid) and we have Elvander for another close, probably overtime win.

Ook Ook v Redgum's Reptiles
This is a game that Jevouse shouldn't be playing and Redgum maybe incapable of. Gorillas are probably not strong enough to take on the Sauri and inducements won't make up the difference. So subject to Redgum getting WIFI by the pool and the Mai Tai not addling his brain it should be a win to Redgum's Reptiles

Remember Failure v Easybeat Scramblers
Another game with the Scramblers playing up big time and with almost no skills and ring-ins for this round it will be tough. However Hakkawarrior is a capable coach and along as he can get away from freezing peas, corn, beans and carrots, he might put the freeze on Pjj. The games is Remember Failure's to loose and the only way that the Scramblers are likely to knock the ball loose will be with some outside assistance. All the money is on Remember Failure for the win, but nothing is certain.

Yang Gang v REALLY High Elves, Speedballin
The most even match of the round with both coaches wanting to make up for a poor second round. The lack of tackle and Astro Savage's brain fades might see the Yang Gang give Smegish's elves sneak a critical TD. However there won't be any Speedballin' if Karnov can get his Blitzer's mighty blow working. Tough one to pick, but REALLY High Elves, Speedballin to sneak over the line.

Skye Krushars v Cathay Bush Cobras
The battle for the wooden spoon so far with the two winless teams. The Cobras can't score, hit like baby girls with soggy newspapers and will be reliant on journeyman. It is possible that they only way to win will be to induce Morg'n Thorg Wink. Despite Nuffle's fun and games, the Skye Krushars can't be so inept three games in a row. Skye Krushars for the win.

4 games played to date in Round 3 and we now know one of the potential champions, the wooden spooner and been entertained by upsets and some flagrant use of the boot.

Highlights so far.

Remember Failure's Motor Skills continues to know how to apply the boot, sneak one in when the ref is not looking and hand over a little cash if they were. For the first time he has managed to play a whole game capped it off by sending Jordell Freshbreeze of to a Nurgle version of elvish Valhalla. However rumour has it that this was an impostor with the 'real' Jordell seen playing in some kinder climes to the north! Ozjesting had a monster of a game causing CAS at will including the early demise of an elven hopeful who stepped in to help the Scramblers out at the last minute. However this was all for naught with the Easybeat Scramblers pulling out an amazing and somewhat dominating win 3 Nil.... for those hard of sight, we repeat THREE NIL Embarassed Having predicted that the only way that the Scramblers would get hold of the ball lets recount the ways.
    1. Force Card on Cruel Heart rendered useless as Wizard blasts with a lightening bolt for Ace "U cant see me" O'Spades to score
    2. Yellow Belly scores.... too easy since the Scramblers safely received despite the blitz
    3. Pit Trap on Tyr does have the desired result, but wait...Ace "U cant see me" O'Spades has the Failure's playbook and he shadows Tyr, once, twice, thrice and he trips for the elf to score again.

REALLY High Elves, Speedballin did Yang Gang over 2-1. 3 Cas all to fouls, 10 fouls in the game with 4 each to Barry Jazz and Eldorado de Silva . Adage of elves not fouling goes right out the window when they obtain Kicking Boots and Blatant Foul together.

Raw power, high armour and Nuffle showing some favour again saw the Skye Krushars totally dominate the Cathay Bush Cobras the way that Pjj's nurgle should have smashed Hakkawarrior's wood elves. Despite star players Mighty Zug and Helmut Wulf turning out for the Cobra's and an early Pit Trap causing a turnover, the Cobra's just couldn't make a trick. Even the Babes were unable to get their players back on the pitch, the fact that they were not particularly good looking or they were Tui Babes and that gives you Coke Bottle Glasses is beside the point. The Krushar's didn't have it all their way, with the Apothecary successfully bring a play back to the field only to have no magic left for Rip Em V who has made way for the 5th incarnation to make the team. 2-1 with a consolidation TD to Leo 'Sucker Punch' Streisen in the end.

Finally the Hngri-Hngri Lizzies choked letting the Tribute to Alan Parsons win 2-1. Electing to to kick off with a Spiked Ball the Tribute played a hard hustle defense causing multiple turnovers resulting multiple stab wounds and a self inflicted badly hurt. Laughs erupted in the crowd when Since the Last Goodbye managed to catch the ball! Despite this paper accurately predicting the Lizzies' sauri ability to damage the Slann, the class of Sooner or Later and May Be a Price to Pay taking advantage of all the loss ball resulting from constant blitzes by tackle and stripballing froggies. Questioned after the game, coach Luohghcra commented on LRB4 teams being a little off their game and perhaps not up to the pressure of CRP. As he left the formal interview area he was heard mentioning something about Babies and Bathwater Shocked Given that Slann and Lizards are both partial to the spawning pools we are wondering what strange thoughts were being entertained in his mind.

in the rumble in the Waikikamukau jungle Rolling Eyes Redgum's Reptiles proved that when it comes to real monkey business and slinking through the undergrowth, lizards do it beat than Simyins. Bad luck Jevouse, but the Ook Ook going down 2 Nil was not a surprise. That said the Ook did put up a terrific defence in the first half turning over the ball multiple times.

The final game between the Blackwater Blitz and Elvander was full of controversy. Not only was the 5-1 scoreline unexpected a number of instances during the game suggested that outside influences may have been in play and rumour is rife that some Malaysian based bookmakers have scored big time. The local constabulary have been seen sniffing around the Ook Ook looking for family connections. Unfortunately the stink of ape has thrown them off the scent. Whilst coach Rabid was quoted as saying "his team was totally out matched, had not chance of winning and therefore I instructed the boys to put their on safety and careers first", questions must be asked about how Disco Dan got hold of the Elvander playbook, whether Garret was taking hallucinatory substances leading to that "totally crap pass to no-one" to start the 2nd half when only 2-1 down, Alengwan showing his back to Slick Mick and Chapac deliberately tripping over his own shoelaces. Whilst all is suspect, the pudding is proofing based on the 32 SPP Elvander dished out the the Blitz, giving skills alround with Shaky Steve (+ST), Dicey Damo (+AG) and normal skills to Jungle Jenny, The Dave-Nado, Slick Mick and Mean Jean! Twisted Evil Arrow Mr. Green

Congratulations to the Blackwater Blitz and coach Chavo on taking out the Waikikamukau Cup.

The Tribute battled away for 16 turns and could have pulled of the win twice in the last two turns. Alas Nuffle put throw the spanner in the works and the Blitz turned it over and managed to snatch a turn 16 TD for a 3-2 win.

Only one game to go and then the individual player awards for the tournament will be announced.

Hurry up Rabid and Jevouse. We are all waiting on you guys Wink

Croakers Gazette

Being the tale, simply told, of the Grand team of Lizzies whose Exploits do resound about the Worlde, both Old and New and Forgotten.

Lizzies go Hngri for Title (Again)

Reporting from the dung strewn fields of Waikikamukau {who comes up with these names? - Ed} - Ita Cloacaflower:

A scene of carnage, triumph, and bitter disappointment on the bloodbowl pitch, as the Hngri-Hngri Lizzies sealed 3rd place in the inaugural Waikikamukau {seriously! - Ed} Cup. Having dominated nearly all competition, with an astonishing 22 bonus points and numerous, stellar, individual efforts, the Lizzies have once again failed to bring home top Prize.

After posting two 3-0 thrashings of the Human teams in the comp, the Lizzies floundered against the lauded Tribute, who danced and leaped their way to a close-fought victory in the third round, depriving our boys of the chance to play for the title. The Tribute then failed to captilise, squandering numerous chances to seal the deal in the final; their loss, and the peculiar scoring system used in Waikikamukau {one more time... - Ed} meant that the Lizzies finished second on the table (but 3rd overall) - almost a repeat of their previous Tournament attempt in the Fringe Tour Invitational.

Some pride at least was salvaged, as the Lizzies managed to avenge themselves on the Bush Cobras - no fishy coin tosses here!

Individual mentions must go to the Captain, the Peerless, the Fantastic Tamalli - he's hot, Hot, HOT! 12 casualties (and a cheeky TD!) for the tournament will surely net him a trophy of some description. Newcomer Bob also impressed, using his agility and speed to run away with 7 individual touchdowns.

Coach Luo was unavailable for comment, but blocking coach Kuau (the eldest hnaKatl) was heard to state that:

...we stuck to our gameplan, and individual efforts...from numerous players...really impressed. Some players...are getting on a bit, maybe they can't run as fast as they once did. I dunno, it would be better if...more teams just stood there and let us...hit them.

When asked if this last comment was a directed at the Tribute, Kuau offered up his trademark steely gaze, leaving this reporter to beat a hasty retreat.

Once again, reporting from the spattered fields of Waikikam...{That's it, see me in my office! - Ed}

Maybe next time DrDiscoStu…. still we will have more action than you can poke a stick at this year.

Awards are up. Post them on your team and player bios and if you want them smaller just change the PX size.
