Hi all,
For those that haven't seen the announcement made by Christer yesterday, I am taking over from PC as Official Tournament Manager.
First off I would like to thank PC for all the hard work he has put in over the years to make the tournament scene what it is. He has left some big boots to fill and a small army of unhappy squirrels.
I will be using this this thread to make announcements on some proposed changes to the tournament scene. I don't plan on making changes just for the sake of it but I do have some ideas on what we can do to make it even better. |

That being said here is the first change.
*Drumroll*
RRR and XFL are coming to Box!!!
That's right! You asked for it and now you have it.
They will be run in the exact same way as the Ranked tournaments with the exact same prizes.
Watch this space for when they start. |

I think that what (at least some) people were asking for was combined R & B RRRs & XFLs. Is that what you are proposing?
More combined events rather than just more events.
Edit: If we were going to be adding more tournaments I would be hping for something like the old style Tour. Cross division of course. That was Six events I think. Cross division for greatest reach. |

I'm afraid that a separate RRR and XFL for Box might divide the player base.
Combined-division RRRs and XFLs is the way to go imho. |

Combine the xfl and rrr plzzzzz! I think all tourneys being mixed would be ideal but deffo those ones. |

as koadah said, what people asked for was:
1. XFL open to both B and R teams.
2. RRR open to both B and R teams.
So, more combined events rather than just more events.
Another thing that IMHO is calling for a rethinking is MAJORS qualifiers. At least MAJORS should be timezone friendly. NAF has proved that is possible to engage different timezones if the right format is put in place.

Great news there are finally more tourneys coming to the better gamefinder - great!
Combined tourneys would even be better, i think that too. |

This would help me get motivated to join more majors.
Played a few games past midnight or gotten up at 4am to play. Nothing starts a day better than 4am wake up to get diced and your team killed  |

The only problem with this is that it dosn't solve the problem in the main draw where we are back to the existing format.

True, but the issues that crop up in the back end of the site is what prevents this. We get issues in the FC where the games between cross divisions don't start properly. Hopefully in the future this will be possible but for now it we are keeping them seperate. |
