You were playing fine before right? So I would look at what has changed since then is all I can advise. Is it a new computer, or new router/internet connection you're playing from?

I too am having this probable only I am not being prompted with any messages about security or failures... it simply doesn't load... green progress bar gets to about 90% (at best) and the whole thing stops... Tried with firefox, explorer, can't do chrome (i'm in china)… Really bummed out for almost two days... been trying everything … no luck

So I completely uninstalled java and manually deleted the associated program files etc. Re-started, reinstalled java and followed the instructions as per the 1st page in this thread. Still receive the same error.

Changes on my end:
updated to latest version of java
living in a new house but connecting over 4g from my phone which has worked previously

The issue started when the league updates were rolled out, whilst they have been resolved for most the issue still seems to be affecting me even though Christer has also resolved the certificate signing issue.

I wonder if I should delete my certificates and try then?

@HandyKauffman if you are getting the game to load (even partially) then it appears to be a different problem as my issue appears to be that my java cannot connect to fumbbl to download the client at all.

@ben - seems likely that it's probably something to do with your new connection. The updates and new certificate haven't stopped me from playing/spectating - all I had to do is re-check the "allow FFB" check-box once more.

Should the fumbbl certificate list show in my certificate list? Currently that is empty. Would importing it maybe fix the issue?

This has got me super bummed out... I have tried everything I am capable of trying... I am involved in several leagues and was looking forward to playin gin the warpstone… I have tried multiple browsers, followed all the advice in this thread, used an old laptop with windows seven, uninstalled and reinstalled java... you name it... and still nothing. The only thing I have left to try is a maybe through a 4g phone or separate location... as convenient as that may be for a solution it doesn't help me at my home. It would be a serious headache to continue my fumbbl career from an internet café... thanks for all the support...

Try the following:

- Control Panel->Java
- General Tab->Temporary Internet Files->Settings->Delete Files->Check all checkboxes and click OK
- General Tab->Temporary Internet Files->View...->Show->Deleted Applications->Select all, click the cross to remove them all
- General Tab->Network Settings->Direct Connection
- Java Tab->View->Make sure you have one Java product in the list. Remove old versions, both in user and system tabs
- Security Tab->Enable Java content for browser and Web Start applications
- Security Tab->High
- Security Tab->Restore Security Prompts
- Advanced Tab->JNLP File->Prompt user
- Advanced Tab->Application Installation->Install if hinted
- Advanced Tab->Execution Environment Security Settings->Check everything except "Show site certificate from server even if it is valid" (doesn't hurt to have that enabled, but it's spammy)
- Advanced Tab->Mixed Code->Enable - show warning if needed
- Advanced Tab->Perform signed code certificate revocation checks on->All certificates
- Advanced Tab->Perform TLS certificate revocation checks on->All certificates
- Advanced Tab->Advanced Security Settings->Enable blacklist revocation check
- Advanced Tab->Use TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2
- Advanced Tab->Miscellaneous->Suppress sponsor offers when installing or updating Java

Try spectating.

If you still have problems, try these one at a time:
- Advanced Tab->Perform signed code certificate revocation checks on->Do not check
- Advanced Tab->Perform TLS certificate revocation checks on->Do not check
- Advanced Tab->Advanced Security Settings->Enable blacklist revocation check OFF

This isn't great for security, but worth a try. Revert back if it doesn't change anything

Unfortunately no joy. I get the above messages still

The actual error:
"com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: https://fumbbl.com/ffblive.jnlp?spectate=1124319&c=ben_awesome&a=02b82006f1c42c5f4c313dfa3fd3cd24"

I will test from the office tomorrow and then I get fibre optic on the 9th. Hopefully that will solve the issue.

@HandyKauffman - if you can find out if the location is preventing the client loading you could then ask your ISP if they are blocking it.

In the office and specced a game successfully. Issue is a result of poor 4G connection.

Fire-fox I've had no problems, so if you prefer that to IE (oh god) then I would try that. Glad you figure it out though

I thought it was java, turns out it is my anti-virus. Also you can might be different, maybe firewall? Add game to safe program list it fixed problem for me.
