If I can get a game with them tonight in the fringe (preferably 2) then yes.

If not, then no.

If Poods pikes like the big blouse he is and you can't find a replacement, then I'll sit out to even numbers.

Big blouse? Hardly.

Besides, how hard is it to have a fringe game? Clearly impossiblaargh. Not even a sniff of a match yesterday.

And the Festival has begun
Mr. Green

14 teams have travelled to the lush pastures of Wakikamukau for 4 rounds of glorious blood bowl fun.

An eclectic mix of teams representing the good, the bad and the outright ugly of SWL. 13 races (bloody lizards), 13 coaches and one idjit, sorry brave soul, who has decided that Morg needs to play in every game!!

Chavo is back in town with the Blackwater Blitz to defend his crown, however with Disco Dan and Shaky Steve still recovering from their last outing Balle200's Dhingo Initiative may cruelly and prematurely end the champs chase to "back to back" it.

It is not often that the Hngri-Hngri Lizzies feel out muscled but they will be up against with Krumpin' an Splattin' fielding 7 ogres! It has been a long time getting the team back together with the Snots prodding and poking the ogres into action for an opportunity to relieve past glories. This will be a cracker of a first round game and the Lizzies will be looking to put together the perfect run this year.

Billabong Bunyips v Port Macquarie Timberwolves will be an other cracking game with two of the younger teams coming out to play and show the old and creaking legends that they might be past their prime. The Timberwolves will be looking to out run, out dodge and avoid all Saurus blocks against the Bunyips who have some serious ball handling potential too. Could this be elfball and will flashy play set the standard for the Festival?

Late Show v Boxing Shadows will be a showdown between Sugar Ray Robinson and a team of almost rookie Dark Elfs. Having drunk a potion of healing the rest of the elves will be expecting big things from their high profile catcher/steroid pumped bruiser.

Chaotic Celtics v Deadmen Wrestling pits another team with liberal access to healing potions with Chaos Dwarf team which should be 'easymode' since it is already scary development wise. We should know more, but until Toonie publishes the team BIO, we are all in the dark Evil or Very Mad ! The Celts will be an extremely hard team to beat, but maybe the Deadmen are the team to do it.

Morgwegian v Ugly tripods pits the slightly unhinged against 13 dwarves with long middle legs. This game is all about Morg and big question is whether 3 legs is really more stable that 2 when the big guy starts bashing. A tactical use of dirty tricks could be critical in this game and though you wouldn't bet against the Big Long Uglies, a Morg-over is possible.

finallly,

Crowd favourites Ook Ook and Tribute to Alan Parsons are set to entertain the fans in the final game of the round. The ball handling potential of both teams is huge and hopefully the coaches will instruct their players to show off these skills to the crowd. That said anyone player not paying attention is likely to be either tripped up or passed around and picked on like a pinball. Expect to see lots of players wrestling on the ground because neither time is that good at blocking!

REMEMBER EVERYTEAM WILL BE GIVEN 100,000 GOLD TO SPEND ON CARDS... pick them well and dont forget.

Late Show v Boxing Shadows

Sugar Ray Robinson makes a Late Show a No Show

Three set move combination plays with Sugar Ray Leonard and floating butterfly move from Muhammad Ali III sealed a 4-1 win to the Boxing Shadows. The Late Show came to play and put most of the Shadows into hospital whilst scoring a TD through a stand out Hard Hit Chris. However the game was a definite exhibition of class overpowering muscle and sees Mushoomy's team achieve the first win for the festival.

The organizers have had strong words with the festival's Wizarding Guild sponsors who have promised to have their tricks ready for all future games. SORRY!

MONKEY BUSINESS IN WAIKIKAMUKAU

Whilst a 3-2 score line to the Simyin team Ook Ook is a fair reflection of the game played, spectators and festival organizers were bewildered by the monkey business taking place on the pitch. With wily players staying on their feet in most unexpected fashion and other questionable activities causing everyone diving for the rule book, the organizer have given the rest of the teams a first round amnesty whilst they try and make head or tail of these befuddling happenings.

Back to the game, the Ook's Hollererhad a ripper of a game snaring the teams 3 TDs. Yeller didnt do much statistics-wise, but the magical item doled out from the sidelines gave him these weird eyes which caused holes to appear in the Tribute's defence at critical times. 69 blocks (very exciting they were too with 69 orgasmic POWs being recorded) to 27 was far too much for the Tribute's players to combat (despite some funny stuff). May Be A Price To Pay scored twice (despite wanting to see Sooner or Later score) and was MVP, La Sagrada Familia skilled and the apoth returned Sooner or Later from the dead.

Could this be the year of the Funky Monkey?
