Hi all,
After several discussions between the tournament staff we have decided that with effect from the Wheel Of Chaos there will no longer be allowing the historical 3 games between a qualifier and the main draw. No games to be played at all.
These were put in place in LRB4 to allow teams to recover but with the ability to use journeymen now we feel these are not needed anymore.

I'm guessing the spirit of the rule is to help teams recover if they wont their qualifier but were devastated? As, most coaches would probably "hold off" on playing games if they were going to be in the finals and had a healthy team. I guess it would also potentially help if someone was playing games to get and get their MNGs back but by chance happened to get a MNG during their 3rd game, etc. |

The spirit thing is about builder games before tournaments and to some degree Box cannot control their opponents, (that said arranged activation is possible but against site rules let alone the spirit of Tournament rules...). |

well, i think the idea was a more general tournament rule changes. The cherry picking part is relevant to R tournaments, whereas the more than 3 games is applicable to both |

Perhaps this new rule is also trying to reduce minmaxing by stimulating wider benches? |
