We will soon be beginning the new season of the Xenophobes Federated Leagues.

This is a mixed Ranked & Blackbox minor & qualifying tournament for the 'Masters' (see below). Each coach may enter one team of each race if they wish, or teams of any one or two races from those listed.

Over the course of the season all races will take part but please only apply with those races currently listed. The season will take several months to complete as we run only three races in each round.

They are run as KO Cup style tournaments & there is no limit to how many coaches may enter. Last season we had between 16 & 38 teams per race.

No limit to TR or TW is used so you may enter a Rookie team or a 1000 game Legend team! As no seeding is used either, you could find yourself using or playing against a lot of inducements.

At the end of the season we run a 'Masters' series which is a Fumbbl Major tournament where the winner of each qualifier has the chance to be best of the best, & receive a magnificent prize!
Should any winners be unable to play beaten finalists will be offered the chance to play instead. The Masters runs as 2 groups in a Swiss tournament followed by a KO tournament between the top two teams of each Swiss group. There has been some discussion about the length of the Swiss stage of the tournament which may be 3 or 4 rounds. More news when a decision has been made.

For this season we will plan to start one round every four weeks (with the possible exception of Christmas when the admins will probably be too intoxicated to run them) & have all rounds complete so the 'Masters' can be fitted into Fumbbl's tournament schedule later in 2518.

Watch this thread for news.

Consider the luck of the draw in a group stage where you dont play every opponent but get to play goblin, halfling and similar. This is not much of a competition in my opinion.

Considering it's Swiss, you get that during round 1, but not continuously throughout the masters. If so, then some stunty teams are genuinely kicking butt! (and should rightfully feel good, and worry at the same time about their next opponent)

50 teams so far a few more would be good. 64 sounds like a nice number, see what you can do!

Luckily for me no race I have a serious or XFL team for has been drawn this time. No entry in busy times - but I'll be there in the future. Smile

62 teams now but plenty of space for more.
Edit.
Now have 69 so let's make it 72 as I like round numbers!

Last call for the XFL express, catch it now or you'll have to wait for the next one.

The third round of Races for XFL XII Are Chaos, Chaos Renegades, & Goblins

Coaches are invited to apply with Ranked or Blackbox Division teams of the three races listed above Apply Here

The tournaments will be drawn Wednesday January 24th at about 22.00 server time.

You may enter teams for as many of the above races as you wish but may only enter one team for each race.

Can I also remind you to only enter as many tournaments as you can play in 1 week. Also remember this is a multi time zone tournament so you may have to play at times outside your comfort zone. We will expect both coaches to be as flexible as possible in this.

Other wise it's pure Chaos this time with Goblins thrown in at or on for extra spice!

For those who like numbers here are a few.
Over the last 5 seasons VII to XI:
Dark elf have been the most popular with 209 teams.
Goblin are 2nd with 167 so quite a lead.
At the other end Chaos Renegades have been the least popular with just 77.
6 races have had less than 100 entrants while 5 have over 150.

Not sure if this represents the most popular races or just those that work best in the XFL format?

I'd love to enter these but I keep missing the draw because I see the news item too late. I've also applied late 'cos the news items don't say when the draw is. Could it be better advertised?

If you see them advertised at all, they're only announced a week out from the draw, so apply immediately. If you check the news or the blogs or this thread at least once a week you'll not miss them. I also try to buzz them a bit in the various discord chats.

They're good fun tournaments, especially the Goblin XFL, such glorious targets for the chainsaws. Vroom. I need another win too, that old one will wear off and drain my SR. Very Happy
