Hi all,
Was wondering what team you would take starting a short league with 8 (or max 10) games.
Last time i took chaos pact and it worked pretty good becaus i could focus on giving all players (not the big dudes) 2skills and even 2players with 3skills!
So i had a nice spead of skills acros the team.
Now i was wondering what you would take.
Would you go with a team and realy build up some positionals (wardancers,werewolves,...)
Or would you go for a more “skills for everybody” way of development?

What would be your go-to team and why?

Orcs or Dark Elves. Both teams start off with a nice roster and useful skills (like block), while having important positionals they can purchase later and "grow" with.

Dwarves for example are ok, but you already have the full roster including rerolls from the first game. Unless you buy a Deathroller later, than all you can really do later is add a reserve / apothecary.

8-10 games is not much so the best teams will be similar to the most popular NAF tournament choices.

Dwarves, Norse and Amzon are all very good starting teams because of block/dodge spam.
Woodelves and Dark Elves are the best of the agility teams.
Orc and Undead are strong starting bash teams
Lizardmen are also strong as a starting team if you are familar with how to play them.

Do you start with any skills?

If not, I'd discount lizardmen and probably go for dark elf

when all players have 2 skills ama are out, even undead.
all their short time advantages are gone.
mass guard standfirm dwarfs could be really annoying ....
but where the fun part starts are chaos dwarfs Smile. just spam dirtyplayer on hobs
lizardmen are also funny ... mass ss dt and saurus with mass skills ....

Riskier: Woodelves, norse, amazon

Av7 can bust but basically you have the tools you need to score, bash or defend well. Woodies for example need only one skill for wardancer to be really menacing and (ball)threatning team (at this tv arguably even against surehands since many carriers don't have blodge yet this early).

Safer: Undead, orcs, dark elves, dorf, chorfs, (bretonnian)

Better armor, similar amount of tools to work with, great at 1000 tv, still good or even better from that on.

Lizzies can work too.
