So there is a new rule book coming very soon, "The Coaches Handbook". Apparently this is mostly to get all the core rules in one place, clean a few things up they have had to FAQ. But they also said on twitch that Pilling On is coming back and being moved out of the optional rules bracket.
It will be as powerful as it was in CRP, but requires a RR to use, essentially the same as the optional rule mentioned in the 2016 edition rule book, only no longer optional.
Starting this thread because the CPOMB thread is currently locked....

If people want to use team rerolls as well as a skill slot for occasional av/inj rr then I don't see that is too bad. You may get some newish players who squander their rrs early in the hope for a couple of removals to give them a chance...Also if you are getting butchered and then your opponent rerolls his piling ons later in a half to increase the damage that could be frustrating. But nothing like the relentless, old piling on.
(Hopefully pro can't be used). |

Piling on is not returning. In the twitch chat where they talked about it they said that it is still very much an optional rule |

Jimmy said they said there is an optional version like the old one, and the new version is not listed as optional. Guess we have to wait and see. I'll buy it when it's released so we won't have to wait long to find out. Skitters of tff said the same as Jimmy. |

The piling on costing a reroll is a rather harsh cost- I'm confident even if it comes back, it's not gonna break the game. I've had the chance to play with piling on in a limited capability in the NBFL and it doesn't feel overpowered there. That is ancedotal though, maybe stats show it is more rough than I think. |

I think what I've always thought. PO and claw should not stack. If your using PO to re-roll Av then you can't use claw. I've always seen PO as jumping on top of another player, like a belly flop or an elbow drop, if you jumped fist first and cut straight through them you'd break your arm as you punched into the astro granite. And using a team RR to use a skill is just seems stupid to me. |
