Hi, similar to how we can currently Hire a player and then change mind and Refund them,
Could we have a Undo button to revert a selected Skill when team is in post-game?
Obviously needs some constraints:
- If you rolled for a stat you'd need to still pay the stat-cost in SPP, (similar to how once you roll stat but don't pick one yet, the roll is stored)
- If you rolled a random you'd not be able to undo
- Team must still be in Post Game state
Sometimes I think 'ah yea skillup' and then realise I wanted something different.
Or, I realise that redraft is approaching and it's better to save the SPP and skillup after in the new season, to avoid paying the increased cost for keeping the player (saved SPP has no redraft cost)
Cheers |

Perhaps the answer to that should be: take your time to consider your options when going through the post-match sequence, rather than asking for an undo button? |

I think the moment a die roll is made, its locked. But if you were doing chosen skills then maybe?
At least until you ready up your team... Otherwise you get this weird situation on manipulating your roster while your opponent is manipulating theirs.
Like you see they don't have a sure hands player so you take strip ball, then they undo their Tackle skill selection to add sure hands so you undo your strip ball selection to take something else, which makes them undo the sure hands to deal with what you picked, etc. |

Surely that makes it worse and encourages that sort of nonsense, with the additional faff that players have to click through to see when their opponent bought the skill or if it was a random (so whether they can undo it or not).
If you really want to stop people playing silly buggers with "team readiness chicken" isn't there a realy simple fix to just not update the public team profile on the website (just show it privately to the player) before the match starts? So everyone else sees the team as it finished the previous match, before post-match actions. |

@Bram Why do Undo buttons exist, then?
@Carthage yea, I'm excluding dice roll options, can't roll those back
The team readiness chicken is a problem, though
Perhaps the Undo not available if you have an opponent scheduled with that team.. and they're not Ready |

What is team readiness chicken problem ? In tournaments higher TV tradies first. I never pick/roll skills before opponent if im smaller. |

Bigger team cuts a player to make themselves the smaller team, knowing that they can buy the player back after the opponent is ready? |
But this has nothing to do with skills, you wont pick skills before cutting players ?
Choosing skills gets you bigger in TV you know ;P ?
(also buying players back costs treasury, its not free) |

The very fact that there even needs to be a rule about which team should ready for play first indicates the existence of "readiness chicken"! |

The fewer exploitable features, the better.
I suggest we learn to live with the results of our actions. |

You can already refund players that you just bought
Which is partly what gave me the idea
But it also means that type of playing chicken can already happen. I’d be surprised if it has had much impact tho really
If the bigger team must ready first then most of those chicken problems are solved |

Systems are complicated. Adding additional complexity to a system, which can be explited, so that hesitant users have a cushion to fall back onto, is not good.
Consider this: I pick 3 skills before a tournament game. You ready you larger team. Then I undo the skills to gain 60k TV diff to give me something you did not consider when readying.
I would be fully exploiting such a thing if it was there. 'That's not nice' you might things, but it's simple game theory. If I don't exploit it and you do, you are up. Can I trust you to play it nice? My default answer is no, I have zero trust towards my opponent, they have the incentive to use the tools to their advantage. We can talk etiquette, social contracts, we can talk implementing rules for tournaments, both of which are more work for admins, more overhead, more things to think about.
Or we can just leave it as is, and people would need to practice self-restrain in not picking skills while on the adrenaline high from the previous match.
So just git gud and take a smoke break after a game, and only look at the team screen once you are cool headed. |

Ok, so to make the readying problem go away entirely: disallow Undo if you’re matched to an opponent who is not ready
Git gud is a bit trite and unhelpful I think
No matter when you make the choice, there’s always the chance that you’ll change your mind after, either because something just occurred to you that you hadn’t thought of, or you simply just changed your mind |
