So the rules are nearly out.. pretty much all leaked... The rule book shows that the teams are broken down into 4 tiers, but these tiers aren’t listed in the book and will later be found on Warcom

So I’d like to hear your predictions too 😊

The design goal of Blood Bowl was to keep teams from going above 55%, that was meant to be the top end. I will use the tier percentages that were officially announced during LRB5 and CRPs development. Though Tier 1 was 45% to 55% then, so here Tier 1 has been split into 1 and 2...

However... Blood Bowl has always had an unofficial tier though, this is for teams that consistently perform over 55% and is widely know in the community as S tier. I will be putting an (S) next to tier 1 teams that I think will likely IMO perform above at 55% or higher

Here are the best stats for the current edition: https://fumbbl.com/p/rosterstats?t=b Lets see how the new edition shakes out…

Here are my prediction for Blackbox only Roster Tiers for 2025 edition, look forward to seeing yours Smile :

Tier – 1
50% – 55%

Amazons (S)
Shambling Undead (S)
Orc (S)
OWA (S)
Norse(S)
Wood Elf
Necromantic
UW
Dark Elf

Tier – 2
45% - 49%

Lizardmen
Skaven
Vampire
Khemri
High Elf (I reserve the right to move them after the roster is revealed)
Imperial Nob
Elf Union
Chaos Dwarf
Dwarf

Tier – 3
35% - 44%

Chaos Chosen
Black Orc
Snotling
Bretonnian
Human
Nurgle
Chaos Renegades
Khorne
Ogre

Tier – 4
30% – 34%

Goblin
Gnome
Halfling

Think I broadly agree, suspect Snotlings will still be capable of reaching T2. Humans may be able to make T2 initially too but will suffer as TV rises in the Box.

Where are you putting Brets? T2?

Yeah I think mid t3 tbh...
Brets should be good at rookie then drop off big time as tv rises

Added them in roughly...

Do we know what the official GW tiers are atm?
Or are we having to wait for the PDF to drop?

Just 1 to 4

But teams haven't been tiered yet. That'll drop on warcom at some point

Lizardmen starting with Blitzing skills, plus the MVP system letting you stack SPP on Saurus, makes them feel better than 50%

The Imperial Nobility start now lets you take the Ogre, all the main positionals plus a Thrower and 2RR for 1000TV; given that I think the Blackbox stats are usually weighted towards a lower number of games I could see them edge over 50%

Yeah lizardmen are slightly buffed, but they are also more expensive again, once 80k, now 90k for saurus... But also safe blitzing and quick Leader...

This means the starting roster is either full squad with 1 rr, or no Krox and 2 rr. While pro coaches can cope with this and get Leader on their Chameleon skin after 1 or 2 games max many people will reallllllly struggle, which i think will keep lizardmen numbers down as most games are played at very low TV.

If I was to do a mid to higher TV tier list they'd absolutely be high T1.

Nobs I agree will be very interesting to see. They've received a number of big buffs. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they do. I think they're quite an interesting team now.

how is reroll on landing and D6 instead of D3 not better? Also, stunty works on the swooper. Am I missing something?

You used to be able to throw them directly into the end zone from kick off... which was a very reliable TD method. Then they got nerfed and you were able to throw with a 1 in 3 chance directly in the end zone from kick off.. now you have a 1 in 6 chance of throwing them in the end zone... therefor they can no longer do this job... They've also gone up in cost to 65k

They are better in other ways though, so have a different role now:

in Theory if you keep them next to a troll they are better at break away TDs, and they have Dodge which can now be used for stunty. and if you don't scatter you get to rr an ag test when attempting to land...

Sadly they just aren't worth taking outside of res imo coz they're 65k which is too expensive in an already overpriced team, that is desperate to keep its tv down. But I'd love to be proven wrong. In res tourneys there is arguably space for them

Right, you'd run up the field with the Doom Diver holding the ball, then run with the Troll towards him, and hopefully toss him into the endzone (as you said, chance 1 in 3, no reroll). You still had to roll for landing though, which was a 5+ if I remember (usually the endzone was marked by a defending player).

Now you throw the Domm Diver from your half, land on a 4+ with reroll, run towards the end zone and dodge 2 times with an unmodified 3+. Not too bad!

I mean, both scenarios only happen if you get the ball to the Doom Diver in the first place and throw him successfully, which is a lot of dice... Smile.

Anyway, you pay 25K extra for an ordinary Goblin with a much better chance to 1 turnd TD. I think I'll take it.

The 6 scatter means you have a chance of flying forward into the defensive line though, previously you'd land directly in the end zone, and depending on the throw, and where the defensive line was it'd be a 3, 4 or 5+ to land depending on various factors...

Yeah it is buff over the current version, still worse than the original version

I hope people do take them though. they're always fun to see, I deffo wont if trying my hardest... But I might at some point for the lols. And in res they'll certainly be taken but that's a whole other thing

Solid list. I think Nobs are low tier 1 now though. Their biggest issues in their Tier 2 status right now was that the linemen were AG 4+, their economy was awful, and their throwers had joke skills. All of those were fixed so I suspect they will climb up into Tier 1.

I think Brets are high tier 2. I've played in my "build your own roster" PEBBL league a bit and mass dauntless is surprisingly useful. It leads to a lot of lines that would otherwise not be possible for most rosters. The stats on the catcher and grail knight are extremely flexible and I think they scale really well into a "champs and chumps" build at higher TV which the new MVP system supports.

I'd drop union down to tier 3, they categorically got worse and while they are a tourney darling; I think we are talking about league play here given the stats you shared; and they're bad at that and worse now

I might be an optimist but I think goblins climb up out of the tier 4 bucket with the changes to secret weapon-stunty and the buffs to TTM for the roster. No loner on the trolls, huge buff to swoop, stunty doesn't care about SW or swoop, and bullseye all help the goblins quite a bit.
