Just wondering how many seasons you usually keep your players rostered per redraft? I'm a loyal SOB and hate to dump my best players at the end of the season. I feel they should die on the pitch rather than take a walk due to the redraft rules, but keeping them really limits the overall development of the team (and winning % it seems). It feels like 3 seasons max to hold over your better players before it really, and I mean really gets super expensive to bring them back and your team end up really sucking. Guess I wouldn't be a good GM of an actually FB team with these redraft rules. LMAO. LMK
Thanks

All players should die honorably on the pitch.

GW won't allow that, but it's the way it should be.

Cost of keeping players should be based on their skill level, not on seasons. Q.E.D.

The real answer is it depends on the number of players ur keeping
The total agent fees is what determines how deep u have to cut in order to keep the ones you want

I've not done a lot of seasons with any team really, but carrying more than 200-250k of agent fees starts to get very painful, you end up with 0 or 1 rerolls, no apoth, and very minimal rest of the team

Also it means ur TV comes out low, say 1100k, which makes blackbox matchups less common, or u are often underdog
It means part (or most) of the next season is a struggle and u mostly are just rebuilding rather than growing

Personally, I'd consider 200k of total agent fees to be around the most I'd want to be carrying
If u don't feel confident playing with a compromised team, with few RRs etc, then the number should probably be lower

And then when you're recruiting a new positional at the start of a season, it's either because you're training up a replacement (and u pump SPP into them) or its just a placeholder who won't get kept (and u avoid giving them SPP)

As Sp00keh said and what makes MattDakka argue so often: It really depends on the team how long you can hold on to a specific player. In a team that mostly works with vanilla players plus one stat-freak, you can avoid letting the freak go for longer. While a team that wants several slightly advanced players will struggle earlier. So the total amount of fees needed is a good indicator brought up by Sk00keh.

It really would have been great if this issue was addressed in the new edition but it was not. I guess exponential fees depending in skill-ups could have been one step in the right direction.

Fees increase as player level-ups increase...

..ooh that sounds a rather good idea. Shame it is not an actual thing.

I love building teams and skilling up players; but I also dislike high TV ('cos I think game mechanics break down).
