Any thoughts, insights, meta-definitions regards the new inducement phase?
I'm seeing the opportunity to use Treasury payments, first as over-dog, then the underdog can add Treasury to Inducements. |

Underdog spending is generally a good idea,
Team Mascot and prayers are good cheap things to buy. A keg can be useful too.
Aside from that it's basiclly the same as it was...
Oh and I won't ever use Bombardier, coz bombs bounce and hitting your own player is a turn over... they're still scary to face mind. Coz they add complete chaos to a game. But deffo not for me.
edit: and unless you are unlucky with cas... Gold is in abundance this edition |

Personally hate Underdog being able to spend up. Team Mascot and Prayers are good adds so that there's actually something to buy when you have a small difference, prayers are, however very underpriced RAW (which is why fumbbl uses 30k prayers). |

yeah. I'm REALLY glad christer house ruled that, or there would be minimum 2 every single game |

Underdog spending treasury is weird, really. probably shouldn't be in the game
But it's strong. it lets you add a little bit more to get that keg when you're 40k down, or whatever
Team Mascot, Prayer, Keg, and then the last 5k on a cheerleader is generally what I've seen
Not seen the case for overdog spending really, as you are just giving that same amount to the underdog |

yeah GW seem to go back and forth on this every edition, often changing their mind due to outcry mid edition... (such as 2016 to name 1 example)
maybe if underdog was limited - so you can only add cash up to the value of one inducement that takes you over the TV leader... so you could only get say a mascot, or a star player or a keg, and not get a bunch of stuff..
I don't think it's the biggest issue in the world mind. But some of the prayers are pretty nasty... |

It's a little boost certainly.
But I don't think that makes it bad. Lots of games have "catch-up mechanics" of various kinds, and a Blood Bowl season can be long and team trajectories can easily diverge. I think the inducements themselves probably hit the sweet spot of being fairly random but nett positive, which is a nice little boon for the weaker team.
I think the problem is perhaps when you assign the underdog status essentially randomly. Being the underdog is supposed to be something that is meaningful, it is a function of how your team is doing and the choices you have made over the season. But if you think in terms of, say, an environment of TV-matched opponents from a limitless pool of disparate teams, then being the underdog is just a random function of the scheduler. Meaningless at best, somehow gameable at worst. But using a particular match-up system like that will inevitably break a few things in the game. |

I had a game as -20k down underdog, so I bought a Mascot and a Prayer, spending 65k on inducements
Now I am the 45k overdog
Opponent can do nothing about this |

There would be a minimum of 6 every game between competent coaches lol. |

Other than a few teams at low TV that desperately need cash (lizards it the big one), yeah, everyone would just overdog 3 prayers. |

Can the former overdog not spend the 45k? |

Well that is stupid!
I really don't understand why this is so hard. Overdog goes first, and anything they spend adds to their TV to calculate petty cash. Why is GW so bad at writing rules? |
