I am new but have had this bookmark in my list for almost 10 years. I am struggling to navigate everything and would like to join up. I tried to join 145 Discord group but had problems.
Can anyone help me out please? |

Yes. If you have Discord (and if you don't have Discord, I'd strongly suggest getting it), you can hit the 145 Discord server, and the FUMBBL Discord Server where folks may be able to help in real-time.
If not, you might need to post a bunch of questions here, and folks will answer as they see'em. |

First thing to do, follow Razmus's links.
Second thing to do, on a device with Java (not a phone or tablet), click on Game on the top bar (between Home and Forum) and try to Spectate a game that's still in the first half, to watch a game and make sure you can load it properly. You may have some rigamarole there: on my Mac, clicking on "([N] Spectators)" link downloads the file, and then I have to open it and permit its launch through System Preferences: it only takes a few seconds but it's annoying.
Third thing to do, make sure that you're good with the Third Season rulebook. Ostensibly you're supposed to buy a copy: obviously, nobody's gonna call you on that, but "I don't have a book" isn't an excuse for not knowing the rules.
Fourth, wherever all that noob advice link is, most of it's good. That which isn't is dated, but the philosophical stuff stands.
After that, it's pretty much all having fun, meeting people, getting beat up, learning stuff, rinse, repeat. |

Ok so I am on this page and I press the " spectate " button and it gives me a downloadable file. What program do I need to download in order to open and view the download? |

You need to have java installed on the computer |
