Hello, some days ago (8 July 2026) I noticed that the java jnlp files, the ones downloaded to launch a game with the client, don't self-delete anymore.
Before that date they used to self-delete.
Now they get downloaded to my Download folder and I have to manually delete them.
I didn't change any browser or OS settings concerning file self-deleting.
Has something changed? Perhaps the jnlp files don't self-delete anymore, due to some settings? |

They never auto-deleted for me, I just downloaded ffblive-844.jnlp.
I am sure it is an OS setting on your end, might have been overridden during an OS update. |

No clue about the OS, but I'm sure they self-deleted (after launching them) before that date, hence my question. |

I confirm these filenever autodeleted for me too. Since i play on FUMBBL i used several OS from Windows 7 to Windows 11. I also played fumbbl on OSX (Mojave, Catalina) and always the downloaded .jnlp file are stored in the default download directory without being deleted. |

They've stopped autodeleting on launch for me as well. They definitely did until a week or so ago |

Windows has a setting under system > memory > memory optimization (not sure about the english terms here), where you can have your downloads folder set to be cleared periodically. That is probably it. |

The jnlp files used to self-delete just after being launched, not cleared periodically from the Downloads folder (this is my experience, other people could have different settings).
It's not a serious issue, I can live with it, but I just wanted to know if other people experienced it.
My ignorant guess was that something could have been changed in the files or somewhere.
Jayward experienced the same, nice to know. |

They used to auto delete on chrome back when i used it. Now on firefox and they dont. So probably you had a chrome update? |

Yes, I use Chrome and yes, it got updated, but I didn't change any setting. |

I've had it both ways. they haven't self deleted on brave at all, but I've had them self delete in the past |

Oh yes, manual deletion is a way but it's a little hassle, automatic deletion would be better. Maybe an update will fix it eventually. |

I’m on Mac, so I ended up writing a script that launches the client and deletes the file |
