And Khorne's militia just keeps on trucking...guess we needed a little time to warm up (started 0-4 last season), but since then we've put together a couple dominating performances. Sure, the scoreboard might show only small margins of victory, but there's more to domination than score. There's sheer intimidation factor, scaring the opponents into faking concussions to remain in the ko box rather than return and potentially be injured for real by our mighty fists and boots. Ok, who's next? KHORNE CALLS YOU OUT!!!

Season 2 Round 2 Is Complete!

Khorne vs Tzeentch: 30 - 11
If you want to talk about a butt whooping, that is what Khorne delivered to Tzeentch in this Round of the Meatgrinder. 3 wins and a tie in Khorne's favor gave them a whopping 19 points victory over the sore Tzeentch [Un]Stable, with the score closing at 30-11. Once again, AFK_Eagle's Khorne's Militia managed to pull a win and stay in place at the head of the Khornate Stable with a 1-0 win over InkRose's Cherubs of Change. AlcingRagaholic's For Khaine & Country! managed to win 2-1 against Paulhicks Change Is Good, but once again took 4 casualties in return. That marks 2 games that the Dark Elf team was sacrificed in order to get a better matchup for the rest of the stable; these guys are still doing wonders! EvolveToAnarchism's Frenzied Fighting Philosophers finally had a long awaited emphatic 3-1 win over Sinner's Changelings, putting him back into solid standing with his team. The only non-win Khorne had was the tie between Cyric612's Red Kross and LurkingGrue's Here's Your Change.

Nurgle vs Slaanesh: 16 - 26
Another horrendous upset in the Rivalry, with the Slaaneshi Stable doing almost as well as the Khornate one, with a 10 point win over the Nurgle stable. 3 wins and only 1 loss were awarded to the Slaanesh stable, which is highly odd as they were the weaker stable. The Sultans of Slaanesh, MithrilPoint's Chaos Dwarves, managed to have a major 2-0 win over Season 1 League Champions, Luk's Crushers From Putrid Wastes. Season 1 Runners Up, BB-Pad's Blades of Slaanesh once against triumphed over rival Da_Todfatha's Papa Nurgle's Pretty Boys in a massive 3-1 win, though they took 6 casualties in return. However, in what is considered the upset would be the 2-1 win Trog's Dark Elves, Slayers of Slaanesh, had over Macavity's That Fresh Feeling. The only nurgle team that managed to pull a win was Tymless's Nurgle's Assistants, who defeated Uber's Satanic Scions of Slaanesh.

Totals after Round 2:
Stable ------ Points ------ Touchdowns ------- Casualties ----- TR/ST
Khorne ----------56--------------13---------------------5/7/3 --------538/512
Slaanesh--------48--------------11---------------------7/6/5 --------604/556

Tzeentch: Khaidu, the Hobgoblin, from Here's Your Change [LurkingGrue] @ 20 Spps

**In case of a tie, the Champ is chosen from the team with the most points in the Stable. If tied in the same team, the one with few MVPs gets it.

Round 3 is:
Khorne vs Norse

Sure, you had to bring it up in front of everyone.... Smile That was quite the game. Nurgle stopped paying attention just past the half, I think....

And you do realize you put Khorne vs Norse for round 3? Wink

CRUSHERS FROM THE PUTRID WASTES, WE'RE CALLING YOU OUT!!!! Khorne's Militia stands ready for you to remove your heads from your partner's backsides and come out to the pitch of battle, if you DARE!!! We see your many dirty players, and will soon wipe the floor with them, til all is a nice rosy red color!

(On a side note, we had hoped to avoid playing more norse teams, considering how pathetically we fared vs norse in Season I, so thanks Alcing, oh captain my captain. We'll just have to hope for the opening kickoff to be ours, to start the game off right...)

The Cherubs showed Slaanesh's Slayers what's what in a tight and eventful game. Trog fought well, despite the AV dice being thrown by Tzeentch rather than Nuffle, and almost got away with a win. Almost. Anyway, game was tied, 1 TD both, and I won cas 4-0, with one RIP, which the apoth failed to save, 2 MNG SIs, and 1 BH.

And the Militia just keep on dominating! This time it was a brother Norse team, but there sure wasn't any brotherly love for these misguided norsemen worshipping the wrong Chaos God! They scored first, which was fine, our main goal was team preservation via elimination of his dirty players, and in that we were immensely successful! So successful that before our own dirty player was ejected late in the first half, we'd already removed all his dirty players (well, his third one got ejected on his own before I could get near him), one of his MB blitzers and his ogre, all the in case box. Not to mention the very full KO box to boot. Point of fact was we could've scored much more than the 2-1 final, but after his blitzer niggled one of our star blodge blitzers (and a misclick had me NOT use the apo, grrr!) we went hunting for blood. Ironically, it was at this point that we were unable to lay down a cas or even a ko on his one remaining player, merely a stun (once we finally caught the bastard--he was dodging as if his life depended on it! Which it probably did...)

Sorry, Luk, for what must have been a rather boring game for you, esp the last several turns as I stalled to an easy victory (didn't want your mass of ko's to wake up and tie the score once more on a fluke). Glad I don't have to play you again...you'll be out for blood on your next opponent now!

We're trying..... I'm switching to earlier shifts next week, so the problem should sort itself out.

Season 2 Round 3 Is Complete!

Khorne vs Nurgle: 25 - 25
Talk about a well-matched fight! Khorne and Nurgle both duked it out evenly, with 2 wins and 2 losses on each side making this a high-scoring and nerve-wracking round for both stables. AlcingRagaholic's For Khaine and Country led the way with an upset 2-0 win over Da_Todfatha's Papa Nurgle's Pretty Boys. However, Tymless' Nurgle's Assistants pulled it back with an almost shut out win over EvolveToAnarchism's Frenzied Fighting Philosophers. AFK_Eagle fought back for Khorne with a nasty 2-1 win with his Khorne's Militia against Luk's Crushers From Putrid Wastes. With both stables watching the last match for a win, Macavity's That Fresh Feeling managed to pull out a win over Cyric612's Red Kross, though both sides suffered heavy casualties, leaving both stables in a dead even lock.

Slaanesh vs Tzeentch: 9 - 32
This round saw the most one sided affair in the Season so far, with the underdog Tzeentch [Un]stable handing the Slaaneshi Stable their asses on a golden platter with a 23 point upset over them! 2 wins and 2 one-sided ties put the mass of the points in the hands of the followers of Tzeentch, with the Slaaneshi stable scrounging for each point they could. Sinner's Changelings and Paulhicks' Change is Good produced their first wins of the Season vs BB-Pad's Blades of Slaanesh and Uber's Satanic Scions of Slaanesh, amassing most of their stable's points. LurkingGrue's Here's Your Change managed to hold Mithrilpoint's Sultans of Slaanesh to a tie, holding off the higher rated CD team and inflicting some serious casualties on it to boot. Lastly, Trog's Slaanesh's Slayers held InkRose's Cherubs of Change to a tie, even after losing several players constantly.

Totals after Round 3:
Stable ------ Points ------ Touchdowns ------- Casualties ----- TR/ST
Khorne ----------81--------------19---------------------10/11/5 --------559/527
Tzeentch--------59--------------13---------------------12/7/6---------536/533
Slaanesh--------57--------------13---------------------10/6/7 --------591/574
Nurgle -----------56--------------13---------------------10/9/6---------630/605

Champions** of the Gods:
Khorne: Warrior Leffy Aclan, the Dark Elf Lineman, from For Khaine and Country! [AlcingRagaholic] @ 23 Spps
Slaanesh: Onitus the Finisher, the Hobgoblin, from Sultans of Slaanesh [Mithrilpoint] @ 22 Spps
Nurgle: Lord Ivory, the Beast of Nurgle, from That Fresh Feeling [Macavity] @ 19 Spps
Tzeentch: Khaidu, the Hobgoblin, from Here's Your Change [LurkingGrue] @ 20 Spps

**In case of a tie, the Champ is chosen from the team with the most points in the Stable. If tied in the same team, the one with few MVPs gets it.

Round 4 is:
Khorne vs Slaanesh
Nurgle vs Tzeentch

Team Captains, you know what to do. We have until May 26th to finish the Round 3 games. Please contact your opponent in a timely manner, and lets keep having fun!

Congratulations to BB-Pad for putting a stop to the Militia's winning streak. It was just a tie, and we got the better of the cas-war, but it wasn't a win. Of course, next game our star blitzer is back in the lineup, so watch out! Wink

Here's Your Change 2 - 1 Nurgle's Assistants

We got down and dirty (thanks in part to a bribe to the ref which kept our DP on the pitch) with Nurgle's boys and continued to pull off miracles for our Lord and Master the Everchanging One, this time defeating the undefeated Nurgle's Assistants (come to think of it, our last win was against a superior Nurgle team too, must be something to be said for clean living....)

The Nurglites elected to receive and, with their abundance of unnaturally agile players (and with the help of an unnaturally clumsy Bull Centaur....), managed to run in a quick TD (to say I forced the quick score would be, I think, overstating the facts). Less quickly we managed to march up one of the widezones, screening our ball carrier fairly effectively, although one annoying ag4 Beastman, Bleak, did manage to hit him twice and it was only DP Gutcluck's nimble hands that recovered the bouncing ball to allow our answering TD. It looked like that was probably the half but Injury Time allowed the Assistants a bit more time than we expected and they made good use of it, but we were able to knock down or screen the potential scorers and hold the tie.

The second half we received and began the slow grind up the pitch. I'd like to say I was doing a mid-field stall (and I was, sort of) but Tymless' defense didn't really allow us to move the ball anywhere safe quickly. It was here that the Nurglites fortunes really began to change as the Tzeentchians began removing players from the field with alarming alacrity. There was a KO and a Beastman who BH himself trying to dodge, and of course the RSC Chaos Warrior sent crowd surfing, but the true secret of our victory was Gutchluk the Hobgoblin (finally the MVP comittee recognizes a true star). Not only did this little gem score our first TD but he caused (through fouls) every single CAS we managed to score: he SI'd a Chaos Warrior, forcing the Nurglites to use their apothecary, BH an AG4 Beastman who was standing in the way to victory and killed the Assistant's Minotaur outright, removing some very annoying strength from the pitch. There were some tense moments when an AG4 beastman snuck around our defense and sacked our ball carrier but he ended up standing next to Namzu Chainforger, our guard, and the ball was quickly recovered and run in for the win.
