Quick update for you all. Cortelll has handed over the running of the new division to myself and Mithrilpoint. There's still several teams up for grabs, though Woodies have been now been filled. Anyone else who wants in, please PM either of us with your race of choice. Remember, it's first come first served, so apply today to avoid disappointment.

Nurgle's Rotters

Anyone want to play? Give me or mithrilpoint a PM to reserve your team. Come on somebody, show the rest of us how good these other races can be.

Hello,

I like Dark Elves and Skaven, but I'm uncertain about the involvment necessary to participate to such an event. How many matches are we talking about, here ?

Six matches in a round robin then up to 5 more in a knockout format, depending on where you place in round robin and how far you get through the knockout stages. Average number of games that I am looking for would be 1 a week from all participants (more if you can arrange it), but I know that real life can get in the way sometimes, so that's not set in stone.

Excellent ..slots are filling up nicely.

@Sherinford : there will be three groups randomly selected each with 7 teams for the round robin. So that is 6 games. Not sure about how we´re gonna award points, but i´m hoping Freakish has an idea..i think something like 3/1/0 for w/d/l.

Then we´ll rank all teams according to their points, from 1 through 21. Again, we need to select tiebreakers in case of same amounts of points. I´m thinking TD as first tiebreaker and CAS as second. These things will, of course, be decided before the tournament is started.

Then (i think) we´ll play a NCAA style playoff (whatever that means). This is basically a 16 team KO tournament in which the highest ranked from the group round gets to play the lowest ranked. But first we need to eliminate 5 teams from the playoffs.

This is done this way : #20 plays #21 for the right to play on and the winner is then considered as #20

right, down to 20 teams.

now...

#13 plays # 20
#14 plays # 19
#15 plays #18
#16 plays #17

Of course, we play with sudden death overtime in the playoffs.

Then we´re down to 16 teams afaik and then it´s standard KO all the way to the top.

so...to sum up...you´ll play a minimum of 7 games and a maximum of..uhm..dunno really...Help me someone please.

M

NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association)

This is how a real NCAA ranking works
64 teams involved
16 teams in 4 different regions, east, west, north, south (now called Chicago, Albuquerque, Austin,
Syracuse)

teams are seeded by how the NCAA committee percieves them 1 best, 16 worst

#1 vs #16
vs
#8 vs #9
(winner A)

#5 vs #12
vs
#4 vs #13
(Winner B)

#6 vs #11
vs
#3 vs #14
(Winner C)

#7 vs #10
vs
#2 vs #15
(Winner D)

Winner A vs Winner B
vs
Winner c vs Winner D

Now if you were playing in the NCAA
Then after you win your reagin you will go to the Final Four, which all Region winners play each other,

North vs South
vs
East vs West

Then you have a champ!!

Of course you got 21 one teams, so just like mithrilpoint said you have a to play a few games, because you get your top 16 teams.

Here is how many games you can potencially play:

minimum game for all teams 7

If you are ranked from #1-#12 you can play a maximun of 10 games
If you are ranked #13-#19 you can play a maximun of 11 games
If you are ranked #20 or #21 you can play a maximun of 12 games

Why do I ever ask technical questions ? Mmmmh. One game in a week is something I can afford. I live in Belgium, but I see there are other europeans, so I imagine we can manage to play with people from other time zones... Anyway, since the skaven slot seems to be taken, I'll take Dark Elves... Any restriction for the composition of the team ?
