2 days ago, the skill shown by the Rangers main blocker was considered enough to become a legendary player. Due to recent weight lifting by the player, his muscles are stronger than ever before. After 3 complete seasons y DLE and 56 games, he is the first player to reach legend status in the Rangers Squad.
Some of his feasts are still unbeaten. He was the first player to score 7 CAS in a single game (probably in DLE history), he was the first and only player (so far) to claim a Platinum DA medal, he even has a crowd pleaser silver medal and he averages exactly 1,5 CAS/game since the first ever DLE game he played, which means 9,6% conversation rate. Awesome figures for this local talent breed at Bilbali.
He is also said to have been involved with bet brokers from Tilea and the first line written about him in the Bilbali Courier was: “His history is one that cannot make city dwellers to be proud of. He was formerly a pity criminal imprisoned several times for minor crimes. It seems life in prison is hard for these gangsters and fighting for your life is something you can expect.”
Noone could expect back then in 2517 that only 21 months later he would be the player whose fellow citizens consider him amongst the most important city heros of all time. Noone? Roumours say Mrs. Anna Auzmendi, current manager of the Rangers believed in him and requested the authorities to release him from prison after the cast for players arranged by the team at the time of its relocation.
Mrs. Auzmendi´s management allowed 2 play-off appearances for the Rangers, but most importantly, her squad planning allowed to keep the backbone of the team together for several seasons. Today, we were granted a small talk to her in the “Cathedral” main offices, Rangers Headquarters and Stadium.
Bilbali Courier: What is your feeling about Maextu´s legenhood?
Anna Auzmendi: I believe he is one of the best players ever to join a DLE franchise. Rangers franchise player was lost several seasons ago, but noone seems to miss him when you see Ramiro play. His achievements so far are outstanding. I believe he is the player that can lead the team to greater achievements.
BC: You speak about play off run? Team has not shown “reliability” when the important games happen.
AA: Well, Rangers was a very humble team when we took it over at the end of season 2. Being able to win our division 2 seasons in a row is more than what we could expect back then. It is clear we were not ready for that so soon and thus, the team was not prepared for play off run. But after 2 consecutive seasons, we believe we will eventually improve our performance in the big games. Let´s cross fingers.
BC: Are Legion over-performing this season? Will they allow the team to win the division? Or do you expect WC?
AA: SHC teams are under performing this season. All of them. Including us. WC access seems feasible as per now. But our goal is to win our division and have direct access to play off. We believe Legion are suited for competing for the divisional win as are the Greenskins. Also Manticores, despite probably not competing for the play off run, will surely be decisive in balancing the win towards one team or the other. We will see.
BC: Any trading plan ahead? Can we expect an important star hired in the trade window?
AA: We are known for breeding local talent. I do not have exact figures but guess Rangers are very low trading institution in DLE terms. Most probably it will be the same this season. Maextu, Ajona or Guerrero (reknown fouler) are some of our local talent. Asdoria is joining them from the local training camps and some notable players have been graduated from the Panthers, Cedrúm being the most notable of them. We are proud of this policy and will keep it in the future. If given the chance, we will try to draft Cedrúm when the time comes, though I guess he will have too many interesting offers for ours to be competitive.
BC: What you think about DLE restructuring the divisions? Ready to play vs other Estalian teams?
AA: We are not inside DLE politics. We will accept commissioners decision. But we prefer to have teams from other imperial locations to come and visit our small corner of the Old World. We are also proud of other cities in Estalia financing DLE franchises.
BC: Any team you would rather avoid in a would-be superbowl?
AA: If we ever make it to the final game of the season, I would not care which team is in front of us. But, if I can choose, I would rather select a former DLE champion to make the victory count, if it happens.
BC: Thanks for your time, ma’am
