I recently reached the lofty heights of 169.3 CR. This is of course #Totally Awesome and possibly makes me totally awesome too. In fact just by reading this some of this awesomeness may even have rubbed off on you, not enough obviously to make you totally but at least enough to make you a bit.

I was looking forward to taking the final step into bloodbowl sainthood and be ushered into the hallowed ranks of 170 CR legends. My name would be spoken of in hushed tones and I would be a minor celebrity in local bb circles. Once I'd told them all about it of course. I'm not one to hide my light under a bushel.

Unfortunately I had the rotten luck in my very next game to run into Joost in one of his less merciful moods. Joost doesn't usually need luck to pimp slap you but he got it in any case, though I'm sure he probably thinks he possibly/maybe/definitely would have beat me anyway. The conceited lucker bastard.

The crown of glory and fame everlasting snatched away at the last moment. The injustice of it. Nevermind. I'll make it up on the next one.

The next one as it happened was a 1st round Rookie Rumble that pitted my brand new Chaos Dwarves against the dregs of the arena. The sweepings of the green skin races, the mockery, the joke and the sheer bloody spp farm that is Snotlings.

To say coach gamelsetlmatch had the crowd with him would be an understatement. Everyone loves the snots and I was playing Chorfs; even I was cheering for the swine. The humiliation of a crushing and one sided defeat was profound and was compounded by me having to retire my team directly afterwards.

"That was fun. Best of luck in the next round mate :)" you jammy vicious fouling little green SOB.

So there we go.

In truth it was with shock that I'd realized my CR had got so high anyway and in any case was only due to an extended and doubtless lucky run with a pact team greatly aided by a MA 7 cow masquerading as a blitzer.

I unfortunately don't take part in the Black Box Trophy, 2 games a week isn't really enough, not when you have league commitments as well. I do play a fair bit of UW so perhapes that helps to balance it out and with the exception of a much loved UW(2 blitzers and no gutter thank you very much) team I rarely go to ranked now days(why, why, why will no one play my Snotlings?).

If I have a point its that I think CR is at best a very very broad basis on which to judge coach ability. Much of the time its an out and out lie.

As a coach I don't think I'm bad but I'm certainly nothing special and I'm equally certainly a fair ways less able than many other coaches rated below me.
