Hey! Happy new year mate!
It's been 4+ years since I read
cdassak's blog post, when I thought "hey, I want to do that too!", and one edition later, after OWA, Snotling, Khorne came to the fore, after having filled the [C] grid again (since GW decided to release yet another brand new team), I can finally say
I have completed Blood Bowl!

But have I? Do XFLs count? AD said so. Nevermind. Still 11 teams missing from my RRR palmares, and 8 others that I haven't won other types of tournaments with. I've taken part in a few Gauntlets, I've qualified for 3 Majors. There is still probably something else to aim for. Maybe I'm not geared for that kind of competition, for the endless grind to build the perfect high TV team. Self-imposed restraints are the worst, but they're also very comfortable excuses.
I'm glad and grateful I managed to get to this point, though, as it would have bugged me, for a while at least. Maybe a BBT run is on the cards, for old times' sake (likely), or even a proper run for a Major (unlikely), both as a sort of "last hurrah".
My BB is piping down at the moment, not a lot of time for it as before. The pandemic really gave me loads of practice, got pretty decent at it, but I can see I make more mistakes now that I play less and less. It's not a great feeling to be sloppy from lack of practice, with something you used to be better at. Family, work, life... and other hobbies I'd like to practice more these days. Not quitting, not yet, that'll probably never happen.
Ultimately I'm hoping to still be around for the craic, the testing, and the occasional [C] game. I'll try to hold on to CIBBL if possible. If the World Cup or Eurobowl is somewhere interesting, and I can manage to join a practice league for it, we'll make it a holiday with BB as an excuse. And now that
Guffle Pusmaw is back, I'll certainly be around to cheer on
anyone who tries to fill their non-Nurgle team with Rotters, or even be the one that makes it first! If you're interested, join via the group or the
forum thread.
There's still another
lengthy missal (cit.) that's in the works, tentatively titled "How to get easy matches", but that's for another day. Until then, see you on the pitch. Thanks Christer, thanks CJ, thanks everyone.
