“In a league that has an award for throwing Goblins, making an Interception, and for Championship Coaches that actually turn up to play games, it was amazing to find that they do not offer one for Worst… Game… Ever~!

When one team regenerates and the other doesn’t, when av7 skellies don’t crunch whilst the other teams players remain KO’d through the game, there’s really only one outcome.

Both teams turned up at the venue for the game, the opposing Coach grumbling that Real had sacked their solitary coach to gain a slight advantage (a urinary infected skeleton)… a sacking that wouldn’t have been necessary had Sirius not sacked their whole coaching staff to alleviate this “advantage”.

The game started off with the Khemri kicking. They set straight after Reals DPs with a Foul KOing one of them… but one remained, and Sirius had exposed a Mummy for retaliation, and knocking him down allowed Real to surround the ball carrier.

The plan worked perfectly, knocking the Mummy down, tying up the ball carrier and CASing the Mummy on the foul, whom promptly regenerated and unfortunately resulted in a sending off… no DP now, and it would remain like that throughout the whole game.

From there a valiant defence staved off the score, despite two of Real’s star Ghouls also leaving the pitch, one courtesy of a tackle-less Skellie, as Sirius was left with little time and only a couple of Skellies to pull off some elf like manoeuvres without RR.

The second half, and Real was forced to field 9 men without any KOs returning, and with a sole rookie Ghoul any speed advantage they may have enjoyed was lost. The hope was to tie up the mummies, hurt some Skellies and break to the flank… typically the kick fell to the opposite flank, teetering just by the fans. The Skellies didn’t break, and Real’s Mummies at the flank were left in no mans land.

Real’s numbers started to dwindle some more, SF Blitz-Ras refused to be budged, and eventually – when superior numbers allows a gang of Skellies to mass block a mummy, bring him down, then foul him into niggledom - the way ahead is closed!

The Ghoul ran back into his own half, hoping to hold the ball for a draw. But the annoying Blitz-Ras tied him up and a failed dodge left the ball exposed for them to make the score. 0 – 1

Two turns remained and it would take everything we had to level the scores now, again no KOs returned… a Blitz quickly put pay to this glimmer of hope however, and another failed regen sent team captain Gerardo García into the CAS box with a smashed skull.

With another injury crisis so soon, the challenge for the title is over. Club rivals Reavers will have no difficulty cutting a bloody swath through Real so it could be time for Real to cut their losses, field a team of all zombies and reduce any further key players been taken to the CAS box to fight and avoid relegation… time will tell.

Despite receiving an early Ghoul CAS with my blodging, side stepping Ghoul, I was happy to keep the score 0 – 0 for the first half… and felt assured of scoring. But when the KOs failed to return I was severely lacking what it took to defeat Khemri with Undead, numbers and speed.

The foul on my Mummy and the resulting Niggle (always a niggle) hurt, especially since I have just replaced the other niggler and will cost me my next game, which was already poised to be hard, for sure and likely any he niggles out on this season until replaced by a rookie to cause turnovers – wOOt!

Save the initial foul I was sent off for, I just couldn’t hurt anything despite having four Might Blow players. Undead v Khemri just isn’t a good fixture for me and what I hoped would be a season to challenge for the title will be in fact a relegation battle.
