#11 Luther Blissett – Serious Concussion (-AV)
Obba Premiership, Season 8 - Round 1

Purplegoo was already talking in the forum about this being a tough first game... however, I knew from his consistent record in the Premiership (this is his 5th season in it!) that it was me that was going to have the tough game.

We got two handicaps- Iron Man and Illegal Drugs (+Str) both of which I put on Roger Joslyn who's tackle/MB was needed to try and counter the plentiful blodge in front of me.

Things couldn't have got off to a worse start really as the lack of a convincing start led to the elves grabbing a spilt ball and scoring after they had kicked. However, we managed to equalise. It was going to be one of those games where I was going to have to hang on in there. Had I not scored I knew the elves would go 0-2 up in the 2nd half.

The elves did score first in the 2nd half, leading 1-2, but we managed to score in the last turn and grab a lucky point. Yes, it was a luck rollercoaster... I wasn't able to break armour, or even get more than push backs a few times, and yes Goo had some vital fails... but I'm sure he will appreciate that I managed to stay in the game against a far more skilled team... and it was I that was the underdog! :)

GL in the rest... I've got some very tough CD's next... Not looking forward to that one!

I know Wot always does reports, so I thought I'd get in first... So to speak. :D

He's a great coach, and he coached a great game. Perhaps didn't get masses of AV breaks.

Still, feel a bit like I got the rough end of the rolls. Perhaps that is rubbish and I need to have another look with a cup of tea tomorrow (as I often do and then tell myself off), but there were 4-5 reasonably important snakes or d/skulls just when they weren't needed, culminating in the RR'd ones in T16 on the football to allow Wot's score.

Anyway, cest la vie. It would be churlish to reduce what I felt was a really well coached game to a series of rolls of the dice. It's a high quality division, and a draw isn't going to be a bad result at any point in it. Cheers to Wotfud, I hope we go again soon. Team's still intact, I'm still in touch with the leaders, all to play for.
