After a 1st round filler, made it to round 4 vs this HE team.
Received first half and made a BH with first block... and that's where the hurt ended for many many turns... Unfortunately couldn't injure anywhere near enough HEs to make headway up the field... felt very cagey... the greenskins huddled together fr comfort knowing that a Str5 freak by the name of Etherios was just waiting to blodge his way in and MB/Tackle me. In the end though he got to my ball carrier, after an ineffective chainsaw (who amazingly took two hits and stuns instead of running off to the injury box) and a desperate wizard play to try and stop the HEs scoring - the half ended in a draw.
59+ spectators were probably dozing off by this stage.
The second half saw the orcs do their best to contain the HEs, and 8 long long long turns took us to OT as the orcs saw the HEs use up their rerolls (and theirs too) and skull their way to failure.
However, when the HEs received in OT it was looking very unlikely for the orcs to do anything about it... and then of course nuffle dangled the carrot of hope, but the HEs recovered, and with some ag5 fancy feet they ran in for the score and golden goal.
We didn't do too bad... could have used a little more dice luck here and there with maybe an extra splat, armour break etc that would have made a real difference, but in the end I think I was riding my luck. Even with a high amount of tackle for an orc team we just couldn't stop those pointy-eared freaks who go dancing through to round 5... However, the last minute 1 dice killing of Antalos II, their DP, we left them a permanent reminder of our displeasure! :)
Thanks for the game. Played in good spirit, and very tense... I don't know about you, but I the attention of all those specs did make me feel very self conscious! Good luck in the next!
“Well put and agreed! :D
The game had the special things needed to make a fun major game! Good plays, shifts and turns and ofc the major game nerves making us both do a few strange things hehe
Must say I was very relieved to win this one after your very nice defense in the end of half2 and in OT.
Thx for a fun one and looking forward to a rematch =)”
