“Warpstone Open XI Qualifier X 2nd round

THIS IS BLOOD BOWL!

A wild game that went back and forth all the way to the end. 1st half the MTV crew got blasted off the pitch, capped off by Wilhelm Chaney killing our Legendary Ghoul, I Ran (So Far Away). As I was receiving the final kick-off of the first half I had consigned myself to losing since I was outnumbered at least 12 to 9. Then we got a Riot! and I had a slim chance to score with Cult of Personality, aka Miracle Puppy. He came through (incidentally, his 2nd time saving a game from certain defeat). EA and I both kidded about his admin client being on the fritz at this point. Second half started with a Blitz for [X]com but MTV was able to get the ball back into protection. A scrum ensued in the center of the pitch with the ball laying on the ground for a long time. Eventually, MTV got the Armor and Injury dice that [X]com had enjoyed in the first half (but way less CAS sadly). With time running out, Danger Zone nabbed the ball and made a break for it. Owner of a Lonely Heart cleared the last opposition and DZ scored in T16. [X]com now needed a riot and got a Quick Snap instead. I had set up decently to stop a 1 turn score, but I moved some key players around at the last second and made the LOS much easier to work with. After an initial botch by Wilhelm Chaney, one of their Wights made a 5+ dodge to set up some chain pushes. Unfortunately for them, the other wolf failed a 4+ dodge to blitz the other wolf into scoring position and MTV hangs onto the win.

I Ran (So Far Away) was my 2nd ever Legend, and the first Legend to die on the pitch. This was a good game to go out in, and I hope his zombie doppleganger will have a long and successful career.
