CIBBL First Season Winter Friendlies

A challenge most unusual was sent to Don Enrique Sangrazul, the morose maecenas of the newly formed Estalian Blood Bowl team, the Montetriste Noblemen. A message was nailed to the gates of his estate during the night. "Furless ones, test yourself against us two nights from now on the field of blood." Don Enrique summoned the head coach of his team, Don Gabriel Quemar to make the preparations.

The night before the game Senor Sangrazul received a curious visitor. The creature was wrapped in a thick black cloak, spoke Estalian with a lot of hisses and chittering. It wasn't too hard for him to figure out that he was in the presence of a lowly ratman, also commonly known as skaven. They agreed on the terms of the game and the skaven left through the fourth story window.

The game took place in the massive Montetriste stadium well after nightfall. The playing field was lit by massive floating spheres of light, provided by Cabalvision.

The Estalians won the coin flip and chose to receive.
The ball sailed into the middle of the Noblemen's half and Bernardo Suerte scooped it up. A slow advance started, as the humans tried to grind their was through the skaven with the help of their two towering bloqueadors and their dangerous diestros. The body armour of the skaven held however and the only harm that was caused was a heavily shrouded gutter runner ending up knocked out(he would return later thanks to the vile brew they bought before the game). Before the last seconds of the half Vasquee the Greywhisker, a cunning linerat ran into scoring position, in case the humans fail something going for the touchdown. And they did! After finally cracking the skaven defensive line Bernardo swallowed his pride and handed off the ball to Enrico, who only had to sprint to the endzone. He ran, and ran and then just as he was about to score fell over the tripwire put there by the insidious skaven. The ball bounced into crowd, into a small mass of skaven supporters, who promptly thrwe the ball back towards a gutter runner. Nightmaster Gnawnagar didn't hesitate, he picked up the ball throw a spectacular pass into the hands of Vasquee, who then ran in for the unexpected touchdown. 1-0 Lords of the Silent Death.

It looked grim for the humans, as the nimble skavens were likely to score fast from the kickoff and then it would have been all over.

The second half started with the kickoff bouncing into the crowd after a gentle gust of wind altered it's flight.
Nightlord Throiskikkcin got the ball and started the attack on right flank of the Estalians. The human defense was up for the task however and they blocked the advance. Crittsnik the Green was sneaking through the middle, but Carlos Dosdaga broke his arm in a vicious tackle. The skaven tried the other flank, but the humans once again could position themselfs in their way. Confused the assassin went back to the line of scrimmage looking for an opening. This proved to be a mistake. Overlooking the threat posed by Manuel Grandegolpe, the seasoned bloquerador. He thought he was in safety, when the burly player tackled him and took him out of the game. This left the ball open near the line of scrimmage. After a small scrum, where the Noblemen used their physical and numerical advantage Rodrigo picked up the ball. The tiring skaven made some more mistakes and Rodrigo was surrounded by friends going for the equalizer. Which eventually came, but not before another skaven was carried off the field. Before the touchdown the crowd could witness a scene that was truly spectacular. A scene that scared every Noblemen fan. Esteban tried to headbutt Sneeneth the Awful, but the evil ratman somehow managed to evade him and bite him in the neck. Blood was everywhere and all thought Esteban dead. Luckily Alberto Carnicero, the Noblemen's apothecary could save him with a quick bandage and some minor incantations.
After that Rodrigo walked in for the equalizer. 1-1, a fair result.
