#11 Warpstoner – Smashed Knee (NI)
The Raiders faced up v Necros with a legend wolf in their ranks. A Wight Piled on a linerat to ko early on and the pain started. We ran players forward but the Ghoul picked up and got to his teammates. In short order Skaven players were taken off the field. As well as kos both skilled GRs cas'd by turn 4! A dirty player was also enjoying the lack of ref attention. While Headcrusher the Rogre shouted helplessly on the ground. We tried to crowd the carrier but it was a straight forward drive for the Necros. With two GRs cas'd, the pitch cleared and 9 Skaven in the ko box the Necros controversially decided not to score! 7 of the ko'd rats returned for the 2nd half.
After a horrible 1st half the Raiders just needed a reasonable start to the 2nd half for a great chance for at least a draw. But a pitch invasion and a pinpoint long Necro kick followed by a handoff fail from linerat to thrower left our outnumbered side in trouble again. Throtz had the ball but after a GR tripup he didn't get far before being cas'd. It looked bad but we finally made things interesting. A linerat took the Ghoul down. There was some tussling but the Wolf regained the ball. Headcrusher was threatening with his break tackling ability but it seemed just a threat as he acted dumb in a dismal display. Finally he moved himself and the Wolf was under pressure. It moved off to the side and we pursued and got him in trouble. But he just managed a 1db to take down Headcrusher. Then with a Wight's help he finally got that bit of space and made the last second dash to the line for the winner.
We were mauled in this match but made a decent stab of it 2nd half despite some things not going our way. Alas it ended in defeat for the Raiders.
