Bjorn Burger sent Warhird Huscarl forth with clear instructions - 'see your enemies driven before you and hear the lamentation of their fans.'

Coach Garion led the rowdy horde of Norse Dwarfs across the Tundra to meet their first opponents Four Nations. They met in a Norse Stadium called the Longship Stadium, the former home of the famous Vynheim Valkyries.

The stadium was packaged with 12,000 strong supporters with a large number of the Norse fans cheering their Dwarven brethren.

The Norse Dwarf players looked at their puny human foe and felt a win was an almost certainty. Little did they know how much resolve their opponents would possess. The game kicked off with Dwarfs receiving which was their first mistake of the season after winning the coin toss. They tried to gain a numerical advantage from the off but couldn't cope with the humans ability to parry away their blows. The Norse Dwarfs found the 4 nations players extremely adept at dealing with everything they had to offer and with the time running out in the first half had no where to turn but solidify their formation and ensure they did not let the pesky humans scoring on their drive.

The Dwarfs went in at half time to a bollocking from their manager Garion for lacking the invention to get around the wall of players. He demanded more from them in the seconds half.

The Dwarfs put up a formidable defence. Thought the humans had more tricks up their sleeves. Each time they got near the ball carrier it would quickly switch hands. The Dwarves turned their attention away from the ball and ultimately focused on preventing the shrovetide football teams advance. The game ended 0-0.

Bjorn Burger was not impressed!
