With 2 games gone and 2 draws to their name the Warhird Huscarls needed a win or their charge for the league title would be over.

This was the teams first away game and they got on their longboat and sailed to the island of Albion. A grey mist hung in the air and rain lashed down as they set foot on the marsh lands. Once inside the stadium conditions weren't much better. The pitch underfoot was just as marsh like as the fens they traversed to get to the stadium, and the fine mist made visibility very poor.

The stadium was full of 13,000 Fimm and only 7000 Norse Dwarf supporters managed to make the journey. With the pressure off now playing away from home coach Garion was hoping this would be their first win.

The Dwarfs won the coin toss for a 3rd game in a row, but this time elected to kick first. Hoping that they could get a touchback and do as much damage to the Fimm as possible before trying to score themselves. Relying on their superior skills to undo the Fimir offence.

The Dwarfs kicked short and the Fimm built a solid offensive line. While their Daemon dealt with the ball backfield. The Dwarfs stood off, electing not to go toe to toe with the Fimir just yet, until they make their move. The Fimir Daemon darted to the wing and this was was the signal the Dwarfs needed. The Dwarfs all pile around the Daemon focusing all their blocks in her... its... ??? direction.
The pressure was too much and the Daemon got pushed in to the crowd. Though she survived this ordeal it left the Fimm without any reliable ball carrier. Their lack of depth perception was a big weakness for the one eyed Fimm warriors. The ball was thrown back on to the pitch by the home team nestled right behind a group of Fianna Fimm, well out of the reach of the Dwarfs.

The rest of the half the Dwarfs used their superior blocking skill and dauntless fearless nature to knock the Fimm away from the ball. Modolf the slayer grabbed the lose ball and ran it down field. The Dwarfs screened him so the nasty Fimm tails could not get anywhere near him, and he made the TD with seconds of the half remaining.

At half time coach Garion felt hugely relieved. The game was almost certainly going to be their first win. They just needed to be stoic in their protection of the ball.

The 2nd half got underway and the Dwarfs made their move down one wing. It looks like they were all set for quick 2nd TD, but the Fimm regrouped and forced the Dwarfs back in to their half. The win was all important so rather than take any chances the Dwarfs concentrated on stay away from the threats posed by the Fianna Fimm.

As the game drew to its close the half was something of a non event, both teams blocking, no damage being caused, no ground given or taken. The Dwarfs had their chance to make it 2 but wanted to push some of these despicable creatures in to the crowd. Which ultimately left the Dwarfs 1 yard short when the final whistle blew.

The Dwarfs celebrated well in to the night with the barbaric humans of Albion, who to the Dwarfs suprise could match their own drinking ability.

The Huscarls first win was in the bag. Now they just needed one more to ensure the division title would be there's.
