Year 1, Summer - BWM3 vs FOE3 round 6:

Despite the Archivists’ recent victories on the pitch, Lyndon the Seafarer – the sea elves’ captain and head coach – had grown restless and impatience over the last week. Despite his efforts and persistence, the summer season had not produced any clues about Amanar’s disappearance. Autumn was already looming in the distance, and Lyndon’s thoughts were drifting towards their next destination. Soon the sea elves would board the Juniper Monocle, a former trade ship, and set off for the next harbor. The captain’s practical mind had made sure all was ready for the sea voyage. Pickled meat, dried fruits, jarred vegetables, sea biscuits, fresh water, it all had been loaded on board. Only one thing remained to be completed: the last bloodbowl game of the season against Chebokov Snowstorm.

The referee blew his whistle to signal the start of the game. The Archivists received in the first half and started well by knocking out a Kossar. But the balance was quickly restored when Ethandril Silverdrop was also knocked out one turn later. Both teams kept pace and the game devolved into a tight scramble, with the Archivists sending Valaris Sailweaver behind enemy lines, who somehow managed to knock himself out of the game. The sea elves changed to plan B and passed the ball towards Khorvan Floodbringer, who started moving forwards. Probably a little too far, since suddenly he got blitzed and lost the ball. The ball landed in the public, but it was lobbed back onto the field, somewhere in the Archivists’ backfield. Aerys Bluescale recovered it quickly and prepared to pass it to Eldain Greenripple, who was waiting for the ball and ready to run off with it. But then a Kislevite intervened, much to the sea elves’ surprise, and messed up the plan. The ball landed on the pitch instead and before any elf realized what had just happened Krasimir Chizhikov picked it up and sprinted towards the Archivists’ endzone. The score could not be stopped anymore: 1-0. The crowd disagreed however and created a riot. In the chaos the referee messed up the clock and decided to allow an additional turn. Two elves positioned themselves in scoring position, hoping to equalize before halftime. An interception decided otherwise.

The second half started with Chebokov Snowstorm receiving the ball. Two failed pick-ups gave the sea elves hope, but they got hopelessly stuck in the scramble in the center of the field. Worse, they weren’t even winning the scramble. While the Kislevites’ light armor held out, the same could not be said of the Archivists’ heavy plates. Two elves were removed from the pitch. Being outnumbered and outpositioned, the young sea elves ran hopelessly behind the facts and even had to allow a second touchdown.

An interception and a passblock movement led to two catastrophic passes and a 2-0 defeat for the Archivists to close the season. Time to move out and explore more promising regions of the Old World!
