“Gloryhole had some trepidation coming in to this match versus these powerful looking Dwarfs. Worse than their fears were realised today!

First Half Teclis took the ball near halfway as we tried to slip some players through the Dwarf lines. Teclis then pulled back to leave the Dwarfs stretched. An Elf had been ko'd but Faun the Trollslayer wanted blood today. He charged at Lorello, our highest spp player and pushed him back. He faced 2 players and maybe we could bring him down? But no his second blow was a thunderous one and Lorello's back was severely damaged. The apo shaked his head and said all he could do is perhaps put him out of his misery with death. An invite declined. Despite that we got through their lines and camped in the corner. Faun raged and proceeded to take on Teclis, our star s4 thrower, and rip his head from his shoulders. We were shaken by these big losses but made it 1-0 just before half-time. Something to be proud of it seemed as I had expeected to not to be able to make it without facing a return drive. However there was a few seconds left for Faun to kill again! A lineelf gone this time.

2nd half Faun injured a blodge immediately and another Dwarf niggled our only Guard Elf! Incredible power. Terith saw a brief chance and took it to wrestle down their ball carrier. But our follow up Catcher tripped up over the top of the ball and it bounced out to another Dwarf Runner. They easily made the equalizer and on the way badly hurt an Elf with a foul, injured another Elf, and made another big permanent injury with Faun smashing our ag5 blitzer's collar bone!
We had 4 players left. Speed Kills, the catcher, rushed forward to receive and leave us a winning chance. But Faun chased him down and knocked him out. Ultra then tripped up and the Dwarfs took the ball for the winner. But not before Ultra (mighty blow blitzer) died in the final moments from another failed dodge! Or was it suicide?? He was our last player with more than normal skills left. Of the 9 players cas'd the only one to suffer just a badly hurt was Tyrion who was the only already carrying a niggle.

Vaclav was not happy about gfi fails early on but by the end he commented he had never suffered such a smashing as he had just given out in over 2000 games.
