[B] Chaos Dwarf
In July 2011 the team was preparing for the Black Cup and they would, as usual, have been better off not preparing at all. It appears that simply staying alive in the Box is hard enough. The last game was the most disasterous in a long row of disasterous games. It was a draw, 1-1, my 17th game without a win, but that's not important. What's important is that Fate was crowd surfed and died, the apo already having been wasted on an average Goblin. The team was now more or less useless and pulled out of the Black Cup, one day before the start. <b>Transfer to FFB Jan 2011</b> Along with the rest of the Box, the RLP were transfered to FFB in January 2011. Fortunately, I had not yet retired game-winning ST5 blodging bull Fate. With LRB6 his niggling injury became much less significant, and he will therefore keep playing on the team. The opening match for the team in FFB was a nice 2-0 win against a dwarf team called Weak Armour, coached by keltic_dragon. <b>Fumbbl Cup 2010</b> The RLP got as far as the fourth match, which I think was 16th finals. The team played well throughout, against many a strong opponent. First facing two strong dwarf teams, Duke Tyrion's Karag Miners (2-0) and then rafadavila's ACEII Brotherhood (2-0). After that came a more evenly matched game versus Pirrekurr's New Baby Dolls (2-0). The RLP were honoured to play such a long lasting team, the oldest team I have ever played. The fourth game was versus Cribbleobblepie's Fratricide (1-2). They were 40 TS stronger than us, and the RLP were still very close to winning on two occasions. It was a brilliant game, full of unexpected turns! They bashed us up pretty badly though, and the team will now enter a rebuild phase. After the match, game winning ST5 blodge bull centaur Fate announced his retirement. Fate will stay on the team until a new bull can be hired, but will definitely retire before the next tournament. Thanks for playing Fate, you will be missed! <b>Black Cup 2010</b> Took part in the Black Cup in 2010. They were eliminated in the eigth-finals. The were up against another CD team, Buur's UFC Heroes, which was stronger. They lost more or less ONLY because I kept forgetting to use the wizard. Even in the last turn when a lightning bolt would have given me a tie and a coin toss. Apart from that the game went well and despite getting Fate ko'd early on and staying out for the rest of the game, the team held up against the opponent and got close to winning. Getting to the quarter finals would have meant facing a weaker Dwarf team, which they would likely have beaten. A very dissappointing end to the tourney, but hey, two wins in the black cup isn't all that bad! |
