FUMBBL Cup Qualifying Tournament Start Times

Weekly KO Qualifiers

All Weekly KO Qualifiers for FUMBBL Cup V will start Sunday 8 October at the latest. Deadline for applications is noon (1200 BB time - type "bb time" in chat or GMT +1) Saturday 7 October. If you apply later than that, you will only make it in if all slots have not been taken.

Quick Start Qualifiers

Schedule

Quick Start Qualifying Tournaments for the FUMBBL Cup are scheduled for:

  • October 14th 4 AM, 10 AM, 4 PM and 10 PM
  • October 15th 4 AM, 10 AM, 4 PM and 10 PM
  • October 21th 4 AM, 10 AM, 4 PM and 10 PM
  • October 22th 4 AM, 10 AM, 4 PM and 10 PM
  • October 28nd 4 AM, 10 AM, 4 PM and 10 PM (if required to make up any shortfall in Weekly KO Qualifiers)

All times are Bowl Bot Time (type "bb time" in chat or GMT +1)

The 8 spots in each qualifier go to the coaches in channel #FumbblMajors (who confirm they are ready at the start time) with the earliest application date to the FUMBBL Cup Quick Start Qualifiers Group. Coaches arriving on time will be given priority over late arrivals.

One Quick Start Qualifying Tournament will be run in each of these slots (16 in all) to decide who will qualify for the main tournament. If there are insufficient coaches ready at any of these times additional Quick Start qualifying tournaments will be run on October 23rd at the same times.

On Rules and Second Chances

All tourney pages explicitly state that you may not be in more than one group at the same time. This is to prevent coaches from having too many tries at qualifying, or indeed somehow managing to qualify twice. You can only play in one Weekly tournament, and you cannot play in a Quick Start tournament if you are currently in a Weekly tournament.

Clever coaches will notice that if the Weekly tournaments are played fast, , they will have been knocked out before the Quick Start Qualifiers begin (or if they are lucky/skilled, they'll have qualified before the QSQs have finished)! This means that entering a Weekly Qualifier does not automatically mean that that is your "only chance" at qualifying, as it may seem to be at first glance. This is only the case if you are negligent in playing your games quickly.
