Ogre team lineups

LRB4 Starting Rosters

Thanks to the 2003 BBRC Rules Review, the options for setting up an Ogre team are now very limited, but at least they won't now look like Goblin teams without the Big Guy rule...

Ogres are a very expensive team to run. They have a constant need for extra rerolls caused by the boneheads (140K per reroll) and the most expensive linemen in the history of bloodbowl (120k each). As a result getting your starting Fan-Factor as high as possible should be a top priority if you plan to play them for a long time .

You will lose most of your early matches against normal teams if you go for a high starting FF, but most probably you will also do that with a low FF because let's face it, out-of-the-box they aren't exactly the strongest roster.

Ogre teams with high FF turn the losing-streak-bend earlier than the low FF teams in my experience, so teams that are in it for the long haul should go for option 1.

In short tournaments (less than 8 games) the extra reroll can very well make an important difference and the added FF won't have the time to net you the extra money needed before the end of the tournament.

In such cases option 2 is also a very viable one.

Variation 1

  • 5 Ogres
  • 6 Goblins
  • 9 FF
  • 1 RR

Variation 2

  • 5 Ogres
  • 6 Goblins
  • 2 FF
  • 2 RR
