Hurting your opponent in Faction
I've played a couple of games in Faction today and I won both but took a lot of injuries along the way (average day for wood elves).

But I began to wonder whether it was such a good idea to try and destroy your opponent's team. Of course, making sure you get 2 injuries is fine because of Fan Factor, and if the game is close, obviously you try and take out the annoying catcher who just keeps scoring, and I can even understand just wanting revenge for all those TDs you're giving away.

But in Faction this team you're trying to destroy is one you can only play once each round and the next few opponents they play will be the very people you are trying to beat as well. Surely giving other coaches a really easy win against a battered team of wood elves is counter-productive to getting you where you want to be?

I could even understand battering a team while you're winning because, why not - it's a chance for more SPPs - but when you're behind and really need to score, why not just score?

Maybe the answer lies in the fact that in F2 and F3, you can pretty much get promoted without having to win more than a game or so, as long as you play 5 or 6 games along the way, so perhaps winning is less important until you get into F1 and go medal hunting.

Maybe it's all different in F1 - if I ever get there I'll let you know!
