Thanks for all your work on these tournaments - you are doing a great job. :)

One question on the DOO:
"Tier 3-6 teams may hire 0-2 star players, but must then treat all special skills as normals."

So does this mean that if Goblins and Halflings hire a star, then they can't take double skills and have to take a big bunch of normals? That would be a shame as lacking doubles makes stunties very unpalatable...

Thanks!

Peter

Hi Peter,
Yes this is how it is intended to be (not my ruleset so any complaints directly to Tripleskull :-))
Apparently Danish players are too good with stunty teams...

Hi Pete, We have discussed this in the Danish community, and its pretty much a split decision, I my self have my doubts since flings are unplayable imo, i see gobbo´s as ok, could manage without stars with ooligan or doomdiver, and ogres its very nice for! also its made not to make a team like underwold to insane with claw/mb skitter + glart block and claw troll and so on...

Thanks for the answers - much appreciated.

No stunties for me then!

Hi

I am part of the rules group and will try to help out here.

Your understanding is correct and we know and understand the objection you are making.

Depending on feed back etc. We might make changes or modifications so keep them coming.

The explanation for the current situation is this:

The aim of the rules is to get all non-stunty races close to 50% wins. With stunties we are satisfied with something like 35-45%. The main reason for this is that we consider the stunties somewhat harder to balance.

Also access to star players is a new option in ATV and we felt that some safeguard was needed when opening this option.

All in all stunties might not be truly competitive and for now We are ok with that.

All this being said I think all stunties races have reasonably strong options. Both ogres and goblins can do without stars and get very significant bonuses compared to most rules. I am no stunty expert - far from it - but at the very least I think they are stronger than many other places. Halflings are clearly the best preforming stunties in the naf stats (outperforming even a small handful of non-stunties) and they might suffer somewhat from no specials since they do depend on stars but I think that puts them at about the same level as the other stunties.

Nicolai

From another part of the rules group

As already explained the aim for stunties is different than for the other races.

However I believe I am closer to a stunt coach than Nico and did play Ogres last year at the DO and they did splendid, beating both Orcs, Chaos Dwarves and Lizardmen of experienced coaches. Woodelves was too much for them to handle however, and became the sole loss.

More importantly they felt good! So I believe that at least Ogres certainly are competent with the ruleset.

Hi Strider!

I have a question about ruleset:
champions are the only inducements allowed?
Everything else is not allowed (corruption, wizard...)?
Posted by Tripleskull on 2018-04-19 06:34:50
Chef for halflings and bribes for goblins are also allowed. Nothing more

Ok thank you for your answer Tripleskull

Noob question about this part:

Inducement(s) you wish to use should be left out of your team creation process and
listed in the team bio

- does that include star players?
Posted by Tripleskull on 2018-04-20 13:48:40
Yes, Stars are added to bio and induced before each game
