Introducing Inferior Bowl

Some of you perhaps know my team Stoned City Slowwalkers which is the oldest purely all-zombie team on FUMBBL. Recently there was a debate about if these kind of teams fit to the competitive divisions or they should all go to {L}eague. I like my few themed teams in the competitive divisions, and that will not change. However, this talk led me to the idea of Inferior Bowl.

The infBOWL (aka. Inferior Bowl) is a round-robin championship for a maximum of 24 all-lineman teams (with minor exceptions), one of each race. Currently we try to get all 24 teams. If that seems impossible to achieve then we will start the first season. Deadlines are in a two weeks interval to let time for coaches to arrange their matches. Thus a season lasts maximum for a year long even the case of full house.

Generally the players are limited to the cheapest player that a team can have 12 or 16 on the roster. Most stunty teams however can buy some other positionals. Check rules on the group page HERE for exact information. All teams can hire mercenaries as inducement of all positions but no star players. Why? Because of the inferiority of this league!

It seems interesting how power relations of races change in a linemen only environment. In future seasons we can balance them abit by using custom rules like "Right Stuff prevents the Tackle skill when blocked", but first we start with the regular ruleset. Anyway, I expect for the patience and help of those who apply in case if getting members is gonna be a long time.

Thanks for reading, and if you are interested, do not hesitate to join!

Edits 1-4: Rule of allowed players was changed.
Edit 6: Rule of allowed players was changed. If we get close enough to full house at October 10, we will GFI.
Edit 5, 7: Start of Season 1.

I like your haircut and therefore would join, but i refuse to think of dwarf vs goblin matches.

Don't take goblins then. :)

I too have thought about this recently but couldn't be arsed to do anything about it. So glad you have! I would definitely be interested :D

I'm in :D

Love a novelty team. Marauders ftw!*

*This may contain no element of win whatsoever, due to the inability of the coach to do anything useful with them.

How about skinks? They are stunty as well.

Good question! What about the following rule? Lizardmen, Chaos Dwarf and Vampire can have two players of its 0-6 positional.

Good stuff!

Reminds me of this league:

Elves would be rather good in this setup, especially if opponents can't induce stars. Still a good idea though.

Thanks guys! Rule stays, no 0-6 positionals are allowed for Lizardmen, Chaos Dwarf.

Mercs of all positions makes it interesting.

For example, Flings and Gobbos will easily pick up both big guys every game.

I suspect the best team might turn out to be a 50k lineman team, who can run 11 men, which is 550 TV. Given as the standard elf/dwarf opponent is 770k at least, then that gives you 210k inducements.

Orcs, humans, norse and amazons will all be pretty good, as they can induce the positionals they are missing.

CDs and vamps might also turn out to be quite effective without of course any actual CDs or vamps in the team :)

Dwarves would suck though, ma4 and ag2 on every player plus giving away a ton of inducements to everyone.
