Nurturing the Noobs
Being commish of the 145 Club can be a real pleasure.

It's not just about organising the leagues and competitions. It's more than that.

There are lot of noobs that find their way in to 145 for obvious reasons and some are sent our way. Thanks to those that encourage those coaches.

This is a plea. Please try and nurture our noobs. Some of them really need some guidance. Not only on playing the game but how to operate within our community. I've seen a few new guys get berated for pretty much nothing on here recently. So what if they don't get our community initially? Surely it's our job to teach new coaches the ropes and not expect them to know what's expected/acceptable/unacceptable, etc.

As an example of what can happen...

I started a 145 cup recently (a new competition) and the 8 guys in there are doing a great job in communicating and scheduling. They are also making logos for each other. Why? It's because they have had patience and guidance. Most of the 145 advice comes from ArrestedDevelopment to be fair so thanks AD!

Don't get me wrong, some newer coaches take a little more work than others and some will get to a point where it turns into trolling or just a hopeless case. I know that.

I really enjoy seeing experienced coaches watching replays and writing advice. Thanks to those coaches.

Good stuff dude. I found it helpful to remember how terrible at the game I was when I first joined (yep, even worse than now), how easily annoyed by dice I was (it's a conSpirocy I tell you!) and how lucky I was that a handful of regular coaches took time to help me with advice and calm words.

As a coach who is a little beyond a noob, but a bit too crap to be experienced, I am in the kinda middle ground. I play a few Noobs, and always send them your way (in a respectful way of course).
