Secret League Americas - Season 4 - Builder Division - The Disapperators Week 4
The Necrarch team won the toss and elected to receive, setting up a 5 man line with 2 in each side zone and 2 vampires deep to retrieve the ball. The pitch invasion stunned 3 players on each team and the spiked ball the disapperators slipped in landed short on the north side of the pitch. the line blocks resulted in pushes, and the blitz left both players standing. Crezgan used his touch of death and stunned the skeleton in base contact with him, and Wini hypnotized the vampire still remaining next to Crezgan. Baztraith leaped to block the ballcarrier and knocked the vampire down with a reroll, but the ball landed in a defended spot for the vampires, bouncing towards their endline. The vampires moved to position around the ball, pressing up to their spirit opponents to protect the ball. blocks left a few spirit hosts on the ground, and an early reroll use left an opening for the Disapperators. Baztraith's first action block against the vampire near the ball used a reroll to knock the vampire down (skull/both down -> pow/skull). The stunned spirit hosts regained their feet, and Matilda dodged away from the skeletons near her and went to get the ball. Once again, the rookie failed the pickup (2+ pickup roll), and the ball scattered to the sideline and the ghosts were set up to be beat on once more.

The Vampires were able to secure the ball and knock down some of the spirits, but the first action double skull block by Boolearnoo provided another opening for the Necrarch team. a both down block killed Baztraith the Howling while only knocking down the vampire, but the leaping stab blitz by Horat was another failure, with the wraith ending on the pitch from the phase shift. Down a wraith and with little available to stop them, the vampires moved down the field and secured a cage to stall. they scored early when wraiths and spirit hosts surrounded one vampire, and the Disapperators were left with 2 turns before halftime to try and score. Matilda was able to get into scoring range, but the vampire blitz was able to knock her to the turf and eliminate the scoring threat. Wini was able to complete a pass to Matilda, and the half ended. dead wraith was another gut punch to the coach, ensuring the team stays in journeyman hell for the foreseeable future.

The second half started with another double skull block from horat rerolled into a powpush, stunning a skeleton. Matilda was able to collect the ball and pass it to Wini, earning her first SPP (finally), and the ghosts were set up near midfield with the makings of a screen to the top of the pitch. The vampires cut off the path near the top, but were unable to knock down Horat with their blitz, and the disapperators pounced on the opening towards the bottom of the pitch, cutting diagonally down and into the vampire half of the pitch, but the cage they formed couldn't hold up against the hypnotic gaze of the necrarch team, and Winifred was knocked down and the ball popped loose. (along with the spirit host who'd gotten a CAS earlier in the game getting -AVd).
Some spirit dodging BS combined with some banshee leaping allowed the ghosts to collect the ball and move it closer to the goal, with a minimal screen protecting the ballcarrier, but the vampires were able to punch through it again and get into base contact with the ballcarrier. Wini was able to leap free and score, tying the game at 1-1 with 5 turns left for the Vamps.

first action block KOs a spirit host, and the vamps are able to secure the ball and cage up. a blitz knocks down a skeleton, but the spirit host dodging away failing with a reroll (another 2+ roll fail) provided the vamps an easy path through the spirits defense, and a few desperation attempts by the Disapperators all failed to knock the ballcarrier down. (4 vamps with FA, my whole team has it, and i failed more FA rolls than he did, not even getting the 1 die block on the ballcarrier in turn 15). a dodge away and the vamps scored in turn 15 to win 2-1.

dead wraith, dead spirit host, and -AV spirit host (no point in keeping AV 6 player, they don't stay on the pitch with AV 7) are 3 players down from this game. 7 games, 5 dead/cut players, but the 110k wraith death was just crippling to the roster. was able to buy another wraith, but i'm stuck with 2+ journeyman for another set of games, and at this point i just wonder what else can go wrong. it is very frustrating to fail every first action, be it 2 die block, 2+ dodge, or 3+leap, all with rerolls, every turn. i think the only thing i can do differently is quit playing aggressively, but doing that is just a slow way to lose with this team, as they lack strength, have no durability, and fail at the one thing they are supposed to be good at every turn. all in all, fuck nuffle with a broken broom handle sideways.

I caught the end of this game and it seemed like another brutal one, with lots of regen fails on both sides. I think you played well though. rodney_dangerfield is a very good coach - I've yet to beat him in 4 games :)

As a suggestion, I think it would be a good idea to post a link to the match report at the start of these, as well as a short summary of who was playing and what teams. Would help put the game in context for the readers.
